What? That's why he spoke backwards? He wanted to have Foeslayer here? I-

The headache came for the second time ever in his life.

Cracks in a moon, as he was tied to a pole.

Cricket bloodied on the ground.

Arctic in his spirit form. Foeslayer next to him.

AH! He fell over. Nightfall woke up in a hospital infirmary a few hours later.

"Ugh… my head. What happened?" He groaned as he pushed up with his talons.

"Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow, what the frick?" He said.

"Ah your a awake. I need you to hold these." The doctor held out two guns to Nightfall.

"...uh…why?" He asked.

"Just do it." He said.

Nightfall took the guns and held them like they were real. As he studied the guns, he saw a shotgun round near the barrel, a revolver type build for the gun, and an SMG magazine at the handle.

"How does it feel?" The doctor asked.

"They feel…" he hesitated, "... oddly natural."

"Good, now get out of the bed."

Nightfall got out of the bed, as the doctor handed him a sword.

"I assume you know what this is, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, a sword." Nightfall responded.

"I need you to strap this to your back, and then take this." Nightfall strapped the sword sheath in his back with two leather straps. Then the doctor handed he two ear pieces. Nightfall put them behind both ears, L and R. He noticed that they had buttons.

"Now these are your suit. Press this one" he pointed at his left one's button "for your body, arms and legs, and press this for" he pointed at the right ear piece's button "for your mask. Try it." The doctor said.

Nightfall pressed the left button. His black as night suit began to fold out of the ear piece like paper, first with an outline of a piece of the suit and then a black plated filled it in.

Once the full suit was on, he was instructed to make his helmet come of his head.

"What?" He asked.

"You need this for your mission. Now do it."

Nightfall pressed the right button and his helmet formed. He pressed the button again and the helmet disappeared.

"Good, now let me see your left arm." Nightfall showed the doctor his arm, and the doctor strapped a watch to it.

"Now this, this will be basically a mini smartphone. You can call, text, do whatever. But the best part is that is you flip it up like this, you can see a holographic screen, which you can press on. Cool, right?"

Nightfall nodded.

"Also, after The Bombing, we had to amputate your arm. It's completely robotic."

"How do you do this?"

Oh, we have scavengers build the tech, then we, or factories make it bigger, with a gift from an animus dragon."

"Oh." Nightfall responded. Which animus dragon?

Then came Starflight's voice from the doorway, "is he ready?"

"Yes boss, he has fully understood his new stuff, right Nightfall?" The doctor asked.

Nightfall nodded. Gun. Sword. And suit. Holy crap.

"Good, Nightfall come to the control room, we'll debrief you on your mission." Starflight said.

Nightfall made his way after him to the control room.

All of the other dragons were there.

"Take this." Qibli said as he handed a knife to Nightfall. He strapped it to his leg.

"Your mission is to protect the Kingdom of Night's heir. Princess Nightfury. She is currently at the highest school in the Night Kingdom. You cannot be found out no matter the cost. Only do it if you are in a life or death position. Currently, your sister is the queen, so you will need a new name there. We have decided to call you, while you are there Starfall."

"That sounds like a ship name." Nightfall responded.

To him, it looked like nobody heard him.

"One of our associates will be there to play as your guardian. Make sure the princess is safe. Follow her, and don't let the assassins get to her."

"Yes, Sir." Nightfall soluted, "but, why do I have this mission. I awoke from a hundred year sleep literally a day ago, and now you have me doing something that probably even advanced fighters can't do."

"Because your the best fighter we have.

"As a bonus, you will be able to learn about modern advancements while you're there. Also take this wrist guard, for your sword.

I think it's time to ship you out to the kingdom. Good luck. You will be leaving in approximately one month, so make the most of your time. I suggest training with your sword."

Nightfall left the control room, and made his way to the training dummies.

"Are you here to train too?" A random SeaWing asked.

"Yeah," Nightfall responded.

"Take this one, I'll get the other."

"Thanks…" Nightfall said.

Nightfall unsheathed his sword. He held it with his left hand, because it felt more comfortable. He slashed across the dummy. The leather wrapping the cotton was thick, so it didn't break.

He took a jump slash, then he spun around, swung his sword, and jumped at the dummy, slicing the leather completely off the dummy.

"Woah, no one has ever done that before." The SeaWing said. Maybe I am good at this.

Next he made his way to the shooting range.

Nightfalls used the pistols he was given.

Every shot was a hit.

He made the same rounds for the next six days, only getting a wink of sleep each night.

Cricket hasn't woken up yet. Where is she?

I know Cricket is here, but why not awake?

He had these thoughts every night.

After three days, he began to duel with other dragons, and not with training dummies.

Nightfall's attacker swung at him, he dodged into a wall.

"You're cornered now, kid." The IceWing attacking him said. Nightfall took the shield from the wall and parried the attacker's final blow, kicking him back a few feet. He then swung sideways and had his blade pointed at the IceWing's neck.

"Good job." Nightfall said, holding out his claw to the IceWing to shake.

They took it.

One of the days, he ventured to the barracks. What Nightfall saw was scary. He saw throwing stars, snipers, pistols, bows, arrows, ammunition crates, and assault rifles lining the walls.

He took twenty throwing stars, a bow, and thirty arrows, and left to go to a training range.

First he went to the bow and arrow range. He strung an arrow, pulled back, and let it fly.

Bullseye. He did this for four hours.

Next, was the throwing stars. He made his way to the throwing range. Wow, this place has everything.

He threw the stars until nightfall.

The next part of the month was of the same deal. Training.

Then the day came, when he would be shipped out of The Temple. The day when he would see what his on world has become. The day when everything changes.

As he entered the plane to fly to The Night Kingdom, he saw where he was. A Temple in the middle of a forest. Not suspicious at all. He set his bags down, each one with a different weapon in. One had all his clothes, his stars, and his belongings with him. In another, was his bow and quiver of arrows. In the past one, a gun case with a dozen different guns.

A few hours later, he saw his destination. The city surrounding the palace was beautiful, but odd. It was like the city was sleeping.

"Why is it so quiet?" Nightfall asked.

"Well, after the NightWings broke apart from the RainWings, they went into their ancestors sleep schedule, awake at night, asleep by day.

"You have one week to adjust to this schedule, by the way." Was his response.

"How old is the princess?" He asked.

"Turning four in a month." The rider said.

"Who are you talking to?!" Came a shout from the pilot.

"The-" Nightfall looked around, the rider wasn't there, "-no one, I'm talking to myself!" He shouted back.

As they landed on a runway, he saw the palace, the city, and the outskirts.

Dear god. What am I doing.

Hello.

Arctic?! What are you doing here?

Well, I figured when you passed out, it would be better if I stayed with you.

Hi!

Also Foeslayer stayed.

But what about Wh-

She'll be fine, she has Thoughtful.

We may have not wanted to leave, but we thought it was best to be with you in these times.

Nightfall thought about that for a second.

Oh ok.

"Kid get out of the plane! We're here!" The pilot said.

Nightfall stepped out of the plane.

Wait, so you know what my mission is?

Yeah!

Yes, we do.

Dear god, why do I have to do this?

Because, your the best fighter.

I barely know how to use my sword. I can't even use a shield yet, how am I the best fighter?

Arctic was silent.

So was Foeslayer.

He walked through the airport until he found what he was looking for.

That's Morrowseer.

His guide in the Night Kingdom, was in fact, terrifying to look at.

"Hello, Nightfall." Morrowseer said. His voice was a lot more softer that Nightfall expected.

"Ah, surprised. I have that effect on people. Most are too scared to even look at me. But I'm a much nicer person than expected." Morrowseer said, "Um, you'll be living with me, in a house in the suburbans in the city. I will be your guide here. I'm a teacher at the school you'll be attending, so your in my class, which is conveniently also the princesses class.

"A few things to know, is that you can't fly here. Dragonets are not allowed to fly until the age of six, according to the law of the NightWings. So you will be walking to school Mondays through Fridays." Morrowseer said this as they exited the airport. They walked through the parking lot, until they were at his car.

For an hour, Morrowseer drove until they were at his house. It was spacious, with only him and his wife living in it.

"Hello, Nightfall, I'm Secretkeeper. It's nice to meet you." She said.

"I-it's nice to meet you too." Nightfall stuttered.

"Let me bring you to where you'll be sleeping." Morrowseer said. He led Nightfall to the basement of the house.

"Down there, is a bedroom in the first room on your left. Just go right on in and make yourself at home. The bathroom is the room next to it."

Nightfall stepped down the stairs, opened the door to the bedroom, and collapsed.

Mweh heh heh! Cliffhanger. Sorry this chapter took a long time, I had family stuff happen so yeah.
