Chapter 1

Harry woke up, instantly realizing what day today was. "HOGWARTS!" he shouted with joy. Harry quickly changed, showered, and brushed his teeth before running downstairs to be greeted by his parents.

"Today is the big day," James said ruffling Harry's hair.

"Dad stop that," Harry said pushing his father's hand away.

"Harry go sit down," Lily said looking up from the stove in the kitchen. "Pancakes will be ready in a few minutes."

Harry did as he was told. He was extremely excited for Hogwarts and wanted to go as soon as possible but he could feel the emptiness in his stomach. As he sat down he saw Zara walk into the kitchen. "Good morning guys," she said in a tired voice.

"Good morning Zara," James and Lily said.

"Now, go sit down," Lily said to Zara. "You too James."

Harry and his family walked across King's Cross, searching for Platforms 9 and 10. After a few minutes of walking to came to a stop in front of a pillar in between the two platforms. "Now Harry," James started to say. "Remember that its easier to run. Its more exciting that way."

Lily silently nodded in agreement. Harry then broke into a run at the barrier with his father at his side. Together the two came out to see a sea of people all standing in front of the Hogwarts Express. Zara and Lily came in right behind them. "Come one guys," Harry said as he walked to the train.

The Potters walked through the crowd to one of the doors to the train. "Let me help you out," James said as he picked up Harry's trunk. Together, he and Harry were able to stuff all of his belongings on the train before Ron showed up.

"Hey Harry," Ron said as he walked into the compartment with his belongings.

"Oh, hey Ron," Harry replied.

The two boys walked out to say good bye to their parents and sisters.

"Bye dad, bye Mum," Harry said, briefly hugging his parents.

He turned to see his sister and Ginny looking at him as if waiting for him to say something. Harry realized what they were doing and just walked back to the train knowing Zara would chase after him. Of course, moments later his sister had jumped onto his back saying, "I know your gonna miss me big bro."

Ron had to cover his mouth to keep himself from laughing. "Oh alright," Harry said getting Zara off his back and hugging her. "I might miss you."

Zara laughed, "You better write to me once a week."

Harry just laughed it off and gave Ginny an awkward good bye hug.

The two boys boarded the train and entered their compartment right as the train started to move. Out of the window they saw two read heads chasing the train until it reached the end of the platform and laughed knowing it was their sisters.

"Should we be scared?" Ron asked in a surprisingly serious tone.

Harry laughed, "No Ron. This is Hogwarts not Azkaban."

"Yea, but we've never been away from our families like this. Plus Snape is the potions teacher."

Harry remembered all of the funny stories his father would tell with Sirius and Remus about Snape. However, Sirius warned him saying Snape wouldn't be very kind to Harry and Harry told Ron about the warning the next day. "Good point Ron," Harry started to say. "But I think all of the slytherins are going to give us a hard time."

At that last remark a blond headed boy popped his head into the room. "What was that you just said?" he asked.

Harry immediately knew who this was. His father would always talk about how cruel this boys's father, Lucius, was at the Ministry and how he managed to trick the Ministry into believing he was under the Imperius Curse when he served Voldemort. "It was nothing Malfoy," Harry remarked. "Anyways, has your dad recovered from the Imperius Curse yet? Or was that just a lie. We all know it is, your family has always been loyal to Voldemort or just dark magic in general."

The boy was taken aback by Harry making fun of his father and tried to change the conversation. "How dare you say the Dark Lord's name."

Harry laughed. "How dare I? I'm the one that stopped him when I was a baby."

The boy left the compartment at that unable to stand up to Harry. Ron and Harry burst out laughing. "Did you see the look on his face when you asked him about his father?" Ron said through laughs.

Harry nodded trying to contain his laughter.

Harry and Ron continued to enjoy the train playing wizards chess which Ron was always better at and exploding snap. When the lunch trolley came around Harry and Ron bought enough sweets to feed a family of Trolls.

Later a girl with brown bushy hair came into the compartment. "Has anyone seen a toad?" she asked. "A boy named Neville has lost one."

"No," Ron replied.

The girl then looked at Harry. "Holy cricket, your Harry Potter. I'm Hermione Granger," she said.

Ron shrugged at Harry. "And you are?" Hermione asked him.

"Um, Ron Weasley," he said while chewing food.

"Pleasure," she said, obviously lying. "You two better change into your robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon."

The girl walked away but turned back. "You've got dirt on your nose by the way. Did you know?" she said to Ron.

Harry was covering his mouth to keep himself from laughing. Ron saw this and scowled at him. "She better not be in my house," Ron said.

Harry nodded in agreement.

Yes, I did steal the dialogue from the scene introducing Hermione in the first movie. I couldn't have done it any better. The weather isn't supposed to be too good tomorrow so I'll definitely have at least one chapter done sometime tomorrow. Please review!
