Chapter 1: Welcome to Beacon Part 1
"I can't believe my little sister is coming to Beacon with me, I am so proud of you" A blonde girl hugged a red hooded one
"Yaaang please stop!" The red hooded girl groaned in pain as her face became paler than usual
"Hehe, sorry Rubes, I am just too excited" The blonde girl lets her go as she rubs the back of her head.
"It's nothing really Yang, I'm just glad I get to come to Beacon with you" The red hooded girl says quietly looking around to see if she's got any attention from the surroundings
"Nothing really? You got into Beacon two years early! You are the bee's knees Ruby!" Yang proudly shouted
"I don't want to be special Yang! I just wanna be a normal girl with normal knees" Ruby looked down
The holographic TV next to them that showed the news with the events of a dust robbery was interrupted when a blonde woman dressed like a secretary replaced the channel.
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon" The blonde-haired woman greeted the students
"Who's that?" Yang asked
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch"
"Oh"
In another part of the Bullhead, a white-haired man dressed with a Black coat with white fur walked while looking around.
'I wonder where the bathroom is' He thought while looking around.
His search was interrupted when he almost crashed with another person while turning a corner. He managed to stop himself and retreated 2 steps quickly avoiding the collision. The two were startled
"Sorry, I was looking for the bathroom" He apologized to the new appearance. She was a red-haired girl dressed with a golden armor carrying a shield and spear on her back.
"Oh, don't worry, I wasn't paying attention neither" She apologized bowing her head a little "I think the bathroom is that way" She pointed to the end of the hall.
"Thanks, umm…"
'What?! He doesn't recognize me' She looked shocked for a moment before turning to a calm expression "I am Pyrrha Nikos, nice to meet you"
"Nice to meet you too, my name is- "
"AAAAAARON!"
When he was going to properly introduce himself, he was tackled by a pink rush that throwed him to the floor.
"NORA!" Another voice shouted while getting closer, it was a green dressed teen with black hair and a chunk painted Lilac.
"Aaron! Where have you been?!" The now named Nora asked while shaking the white-haired back and forth
"Noooraaa, iiiiit's beeeen juuust twoooo weeeeeks, caaalm doooown, pleeeaaaseee" He tried to answer while Nora shook him with tremendous speed.
"Nora, let go of him, I think you are going to break him" the green-dressed ordered while Nora stood with an innocent smile.
"Sorry, Ren"
"I am not the one you should apologize to, Nora" The green haired kneeled to help the downed boy "Are you alright Aaron?"
"My lung is in my stomach, my brain is a milkshake, and everything looks blurry" He stroked his head with a frown "Peachy"
"Here, let me help" Ren extended a hand and helped Aaron.
"Sorry, Aaron" Nora scratched her head
"No problem, Nora, I am not mad" He dust off his clothes "Next time use less strength, you are lucky I am me"
"Hehe"
"Excuse me" Pyrrha entered the conversation "I assume you know each other"
"Yep" Nora put a hand on Ren is head "This is Ren" She put a hand on Aaron is head "And this is Aaron" She hugged the white-haired "We have been together since a long time, but not together-together, Aaron and I have been just friends, I don't mean he isn't handsome and he is quite strong but-"
"Nora, calm down we get it" Aaron released himself from the hug then turned to Pyrrha "Let me introduce ourselves properly, my name is Aaron Blackheart, these are Lie Ren and Nora Valkyrie, we have been friends since a long time" Nora waved her hand while Ren just nodded. "Friends, this is Pyrrha Nikos" He extended a hand to Pyrrha "I hope we can get along"
"I hope we can get along too" She shook his hand with a grateful smile
"So, where were you exactly?" Ren asked
"You know, I came here two weeks early to buy some stuff and have a tour in Vale, got to say, it was nice"
Ren just nodded satisfied by his answer.
"Guys, guys, look!" Nora shouted to call the attention of his fellow hunters-in-training. She pointed to the closest window showing the view of the clouds and the great castle called Beacon.
The group got close to the window to appreciate the view.
"Look!" Nora was awed by the view "It's a giant castle, a giant castle!"
"Yeah, this is impressive" Aaron turned to Ren "By the way, Which academy Lira decided?"
"Shade, it was the closest one to us"
"I still don't know exactly why she didn't want to come to Beacon" Aaron frowned
"You know she is complicated" Ren defended
"Excuse me, who are you talking about?" Pyrrha asked
"Lira, another friend of ours, and Ren's crush" Aaron replied
"It is not!" Ren shouted while having a pink tint on his cheeks
"Ren and Lira sitting on a tree~" Nora sang while clapping her hands "K-I-S-S-I-N-G~"
"Shut up!" Ren interjected while crossing his arms on his chest and looking to other way to hide his face, although he couldn't hide the growing pink tint on his cheeks
Everyone else laughed loudly at his behavior. Aaron placed a hand on his shoulder while holding his stomach.
"Come on Ren, don't be like that, we are just joking"
"Fine, sorry for my outburst" Ren sighed
"Don't worry, we won't tell Lira about the crush you have with her" He jokingly added.
Everyone started laughing again. Ren turned and started walked away from the group.
"Inner peace…. Inner peace" Ren muttered while taking deep breaths
"Wow" Nora looked up to the entire castle "It's so big"
"You can say that again" Aaron added
"It is an impressive view alright" Ren nodded.
The four looked to the castle with awe, it's size and structure made almost everyone's jaw drop to the floor.
Nora then grabbed Aaron and Ren is arms and dragged them to the castle
"Come on guys, let's see the giant castle!" She happily dragged the two males
Aaron released himself from the hold "You go ahead, I will wander around the campus for a bit, I will catch up with you guys later"
"Sure, let's go Ren, Pyrrha" Nora dragged the two towards the entrance
"See you later, Aaron" Pyrrha waved her hand to him
"Sure" Aaron nodded
He wandered around for sometime appreciating the majestic campus of Beacon.
"So, this is it, huh?" He spoke looking to the giant castle in front of him.
*BOOOOM*
A big explosion took him from his thoughts as he looked for the source of the explosion. He found it was a familiar red hooded girl and an unknown white-dressed girl. The red hooded girl was on the ground, and around them was white elegant briefcases.
"Unbelievable" The white-dressed girl shouted "This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!"
"I am really, really sorry" The red hooded girl apologized while poking her index fingers together
"Ugh, you complete, dolt! What are you even doing here?! Aren't you a little young to be attending to Beacon?!"
"Well…um…I"
"This isn't your ordinary combat school" She crossed her arms "It's not just sparring and practice you know, we are here to fight monsters, so watch where you are going!"
"Hey, I said I was sorry, princess" The red hooded replied
"It's heiress actually" A new voice entered the conversation. It was an amber eyed girl with black hair and a big black bow on her head, in her hand was a vial of red dust "Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world"
"Finally, some recognition" Weiss happily replied
'I feel an insult coming' Aaron was watching the conversation oblivious to its participants
"The same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable partners" The raven girl added
'Oh, snap!' Aaron mentally joked with a smile on his face.
"What…How dare" The red hooded girl giggled at the outburst "The nerve of…. ugh" She took the vial off her hand and started walking.
"I promise I'll make this up to you!" The red hooded shouted "*SIGH* I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day" She then turned to black haired girl "So, what's-" Noticing she wasn't there and was already walking away. The red hooded girl fell to the ground with a sad expression. "Welcome to Beacon…."
'Well, that's enough' Aaron walked to the downed girl and extended his hand to her.
"Hey, don't be so pessimist, things can only go higher from this point onwards" He said with a smile "Name is Aaron Blackheart"
"Ruby Rose" She sat on the floor and looked to the owner of the extended hand.
'Wait, isn't he….' She recognized him looking to his face.
'Wait, isn't she….' He finally understood why she looked familiar
""YOU ARE THAT GUY/GIRL FROM THE DUST ROBERRY"" The two shouted while pointing at each other.
Two weeks ago
After departing from Ren and Nora to buy some ammunition, dust, and one of his favorite weekly magazines "WEAPONS". Aaron was walking thought the city of vale with his black headphones in his ears and his big weapon on his back. His symbol, a blazing black realistic heart with a stake that crossed it was engraved in them. He walked to a dust store that said in a big signboard "FROM DUST TILL DAWN".
'We are here' He took off his headphones and putted them inside his coat.
"Welcome" An old man received him with a wide smile "What can I do for you?"
"Well, for starters, I would like 3 packages of 10.9mm normal magnum rounds, 3 packages of .500 normal magnum rounds, 3 packages of 10.9mm wind dust magnum rounds, 3 packages of 10.9mm lightning dust magnum rounds, 2 packages of 10.9mm ice dust magnum rounds, 3 Burn dust crystals and 3 energy crystals, uncut please" He listed, he put his credential in the counter while the old man nodded while writing everything in a small pad "Oh, have the new edition of "WEAPONS" arrived?"
"I will look for everything inside, you can look for the magazine while I sort everything you requested, I will call you when I have everything ready" The shopkeeper looked to the credential and walked to the back part of the store
"Thanks" Aaron walked to the magazine section of the store.
There he saw a red hooded girl reading the magazine he was looking for.
'Dang, someone found it first, well, better leave her alone' He thought. He then started looking around for another copy of the magazine. Took a few of dust application a skimmed them before putting them to its respective shelves. His search being interrupted by the shout of the shopkeeper.
Aaron walked back to the counter looking to the old man with a big bag containing everything he asked for.
"Here, everything you asked for" The shopkeeper then took out 1 package of fire dust rounds the same size of the ammunition he requested "Today is your lucky day, for buying 3 or more packages rounds of dust rounds you get 1 package of fire dust rounds free"
"Wow, thanks old man" He received the package and putted it in the bag.
"Well, it will be in total-" The shopkeeper was interrupted when a man with orange hair wearing a white elegant suit and a top hat entered the store followed by men dressed in black
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a dust shop open this late?" He spoke as one of his followers pulled out a gun and pointed it to the shopkeeper. Aaron stood in front of the counter without moving an inch.
The shopkeeper raised his trembling hands "Please, just take the money and leave"
"Shhh, calm down, we are not here for the money. Grab the dust" His henchmen pulled out black briefcases while the others walked through the store taking the dust.
"Move it kid" One of the henchmen threated Aaron.
"Before we get started" He spoke "Does anyone want to get out?"
"I said move it kid!" The henchmen pointed his gun to Aaron
Aaron swiftly kicked the gun out of the henchmen's hand and pulled out his own. From his coat, he pulled out a white and blue .44 magnum with and extended barrel. He used the grip of the revolver to hit the henchmen's head and then kicked him out of the store.
"I gave you a chance" Aaron politely spoke while pulling another revolver, this time it was a white and red revolver
*SMAASH* To the other side of the store, another henchman was sent flying to the street
"Oh yeah, the one that was reading the magazine"
The robbers quickly got out of the store looking to the red hooded girl now wielding a red scythe. She was Ruby.
"Huh, that's a cool weapon, not as cool as mine, but whatever. Now, if you excuse me" Aaron bowed to the shopkeeper and got out of the store.
"Okaaayy" The orange haired criminal spoke "Get her"
The henchmen rushed towards the scythe-wielding girl.
"Hey, don't forget about me!" Aaron shouted as he kicked the criminal out of the store.
"Stubborn kid" The criminal grunted as he attacked the white-haired boy with his purple cane. Aaron defended using the muzzle of his white-red revolver as he transformed his other weapon, in the lower part of the barrel appeared a knife edge appeared while the grip rotated, his weapon was now a knife/revolver hybrid weapon he tried cutting the criminal who evaded the edge of the weapon and used his cane to attack. Aaron crouched, evading the attack. Then with his revolver he tried to shot the criminal at short distance. The criminal deflected moving the muzzle with his cane and the revolver fired to the ground. The two then started exchanging blows. Aaron fired his revolver and trying to cut the criminal with the other one while the criminal deflected the weapons using his cane making the revolver fire to the ground or the air.
Aaron was obligated to recharge after running out of bullets, the criminal took this opportunity to hit the boy.
Aaron jumped backwards while he recharged his weapon and then pointed his two revolvers to the criminal as the criminal pointed his cane to the boy.
"You know, for a criminal, your suit is very well made" Aaron spoke "You should give me the number of your tailor"
"Hm" The criminal smirked "I see you have refined tastes for someone that young"
"What can I say?" He shrugged "I'm a man of culture"
A grunt was launched to their direction landing in the middle of two.
"You were worth every cent. Truly, you were" He puffed his cigar after looking to his henchman "Well, Red, Black, I think we can say it was an eventful evening" He threw the cigar to ground and smashed it with his cane. "And as much as I'd love to keep dancing with you, Black, I'm afraid this is where we part ways" He pointed his cane to Aaron
"Come on, going already? Night is still young" Aaron kept his revolver pointed towards the criminal
"Hm" The criminal quickly turned his cane to the red hooded girl and shot a bright bullet.
"Oh, crap!" Aaron quickly ran towards the girl who was unprepared to the attack.
The explosion caused by the bullet created a smokescreen that covered the two teenagers.
The smokescreen cleared revealing Ruby in the ground being protected by a kneeling Aaron who extended his coat to cover the girl from the attack.
"Are you alright?" Aaron quickly asked
"Ye-Yeah" The red hooded girl slowly nodded looking to the man than protected her. Her face showed a small pink tint in her cheeks.
Aaron looked around and found the criminal climbing a ladder in the side of a building "Stay here" He rushed towards the criminal "Keep my things safe old man, I will come back for them later!" He shouted to the shop keeper who stood in the door of his store.
"W-wait!" Ruby shouted towards Aaron who didn't listen and continue rushing towards the criminal.
At the side of the building he jumped the entire thing landing on the rooftop.
"Good thing I didn't miss leg day" He looked to the criminal who was running to the edge of the roof "Hey, where do you thing you are going?" He pointed his revolvers to the man.
"Persistent" The criminal grunted.
From the alleyway beside the building a bullhead raised. The wind generated by it fluttered the black coat of Aaron while he covered his eyes by the dust generated.
A bang could be heard as Ruby appeared in the rooftop too
"Hey! You left me alone there" Ruby shouted
"I told you to stay" Aaron replied
While they were arguing, the criminal jumped to the bullhead, and aimed to the two with his cane.
Aaron noticed this and quickly shouted "Move!" The two jumped sideways as an explosion was created by the bullet
"Whoa-ho-ho-hoo" The criminal laughed.
What he didn't noticed what that the explosion was intercepted by a sudden appearance. A blonde woman with a riding crop stood between the teens and the explosion. She was Glynda Goodwitch.
"Hm" The huntress adjusted her glasses with two fingers then attacked the bullhead with purple aura attacks.
The bullhead received the damage and staggered.
"We got a huntress" The criminal talked to the woman piloting the bullhead. She quickly left the pilot's seat and moved to the open compartment.
While the huntress tried to stop the bullhead, Aaron took out two special bullets from his coat. He quickly placed them in his revolvers and aimed to the shadowed woman fighting the huntress.
"Time for the Interlude" He fired his revolvers, the two bullets combined in the air forming a fire, wind, lightning and ice combination fueled by energy crystal. The result was a big fire/ice ball that sparkled with lightning and oversized the bullhead.
Everyone looked shocked as the attack closed the bullhead. The shadowed woman in the bullhead used her two hands to launch a massive fire ball. The dust attack and fire attack clashed in mid-air and then exploded. The wave of the explosion made everyone except Aaron flinch, Ruby fell to the ground, Glynda ended kneeling and the woman in the bullhead was launched towards the wall of the compartment and then in the floor of the bullhead. The bullhead greatly staggered before recovering balance and flying away.
Aaron stood there looking at the bullhead depart. His revolvers releasing smoke from the muzzle and the hammer, Aaron took a closer look to his weapon, the power fired by the made the inner mechanics tremble, he needed to repair his revolver.
"Result didn't work as expected" He looked to his weapon with concentration "Increase bullet resistance, inner barrel resistant, force of the hammer, considerate enlarging the barrel from 0.5 to 1 inch and find dust resistant material for the inner chamber"
He mumbled to himself while looking to his revolver before being interrupted by the red hooded girl.
"ThatwasawesomehowdidyoudothatmayIseeyourweapons?" She fired the words at him while having a glimmering in her eyes and being to close to his comfort.
"*Cough, Cough*" The huntress beside them coughed in her hand to call the attentions of the two teenager "Excuse me, but you will have to come with-" She stopped when looking to the face of the white-haired boy "H-Hello, M-r. B-Blackheart"
"Hello Glynda, did you miss me?"
Present day
Now Aaron and Ruby walked together in the halls of Beacon while catching up with each other
"So, then the Principal Ozpin offered to study in Beacon two years in advance and here we are" She said with a smile
"Well, if Norman saw potential in you then, who am I to judge?" He asked no one
"Norman?" Ruby asked "Who's that?"
"Norman, that is Ozpin true name" He replied "Ozpin is a nickname"
"Really?! What is his true name?"
He looked to the sides to see if someone was around and then leaned to Ruby's ear and whispered. He retreated while Ruby looked shocked by the answer.
"Is it really that long?!"
"Yeah, that is why we call him O.Z.P.I.N, his true name is a mouthful, so call him Ozpin, Oscar or Norman, your choice, although don't tell him I told you, he is very strict about it
"I think I will stick with Principal Ozpin"
"Whatever" He shrugged as they continue walking
"How do you know all of this?"
"We meet a long time ago" Aaron answered "Long story short, he recruited me Beacon the same as you, but a long time ago"
They walked in complete silent until Ruby tried to break the silence.
"Sooooo" Ruby took the red weapon on her back and transformed it "I got this thing"
Aaron looked with detail to the weapon "Hmmm, a scythe combined with a customized high impact velocity rifle, very nice detail" He nodded with a smile "Although, the recoil must be tremendous and hard to control, but looking at how you fought with it you must have adapted your style to use the recoil as a booster for your abilities and a movement enhancer" He turned to Ruby "Very impressive"
Ruby looked shocked for a moment before blushing and scratching the back of her head "Thanks, I guess I did go a little overboard when designing it"
"There is no such thing as going overboard" Aaron corrected "If a you want a weapon to be one way, you designed and you build it, then you must be proud of your own creation" Ruby was shocked (again) by the statement "Sorry, I am a weapon fanatic myself, you know?"
Ruby smile brightly "Thanks…. oh, by the way, may I see you weapon, I didn't manage to see then with all the fighting and running"
"Sure" He pulled his two revolver and handled them to Ruby. "This is Symphony" He waved the White/Blue revolver "and this is Melody" He waved the White/Red revolver.
Ruby received the revolver and started analyzing the weight, size, and color.
"Customized .44 magnum with extended barrel and an amplified hammer!" Ruby pressed the button on the grip and from the barrel came the knife edge "And it's also a knife! That is so cool!" She smiled while feeling the edge of the knife with her finger but then remembered something "But wait, what about the shot you made?! The fire, ice lighting shot?!" She quickly asked
"There was also wind in there" He went to his coat and pullet out the special bullets. The bullets looked like a .500 cartridge with the difference that they were painted in red/green and white/blue respectively "I call them Interlude, powerful bullets designated to compact the power of concentrated dust, inside this is Fire/Wind dust and this one is Ice/Lighting, The hammer is a aura conductive metal, expensive by the way, that channels the aura through the bullet at the same time it fires it. The two also contain small energy crystal shards that help enhance the dust"
"Whoaaaa!" Ruby was awestruck by the bullet, she took it and started looking to every detail of it "Amazing!Didyouinventthis?!Thatissocool!Canyouteachmehowtodoit?!Pleasepleaseplease!"
"Yeah, yeah" He took the bullet of her hand "It is still a work on progress. My weapons can only shoot one of these before needing repairment, I am analyzing the output to see what I can change of this"
"Oh! Can I help! Pleaseee?" Ruby happily raised her hand like asking a teacher permission to got to the bathroom. "By the way, what about the giant clothed thing on your back? It is also a weapon?!" She asked with anticipation
"Yep, the best weapon you will ever see"
"Well, that maybe not as cool as Crescent Rose" She added with a superior tone before turning to her cheerful actitute "But may I see it?!"
"Sorry Ruby, I only use it for a serious fight, or when I feel like using, maybe later. First we need to get to the auditory" Aaron pocketed the bullets in his coat
"Yeaaaah, about that" Ruby looked around "Where are we going?"
"Well, I don't know" He calmly replied before a tumble weed rolled behind them "We are lost, aren't we?"
"Well, maybe there is a directory or something, don't you think?"
"That is unlikely" He rubbed his chin "Let's go, maybe we will find the way if we follow the noises"
The two started running towards whatever place was the auditory
