This is just a small interlude to introduce the story a bit. Hope you like it. Next chapter will follow the Pilot episode of TVD and we'll see the arrival of the Salvatore Brothers.

Interlude

Blair Fell found out that, in another life, she used to be Harry Potter, the day she turned seventeen. The moment the clock struck midnight, every single memory of who she used to be, came rushing back. She remembered growing up with the Dursleys, finding out that she was a witch at age 11, going to Hogwarts, being sorted into Gryffindor, making friends, facing Dark Lords and basilisks and dragons and dementors, she remembered the people she lost and then she remembered dying, sacrificing herself to kill Voldemort and then choosing life once again when she touched that mirror, a mirror that had shown her a different version of herself.

Before her birthday, Blair's life had been normal, not perfect but happy, fun, and definitely much more peaceful that the one she used to live as Harry Potter.

She was an only child, like she had been in her other life, with two best friends that she knew since kindergarten. One was her cousin Elena Gilbert while the other was Caroline Forbes.

She lived in Mystic Falls, a small town in Virginia founded in 1800's by what would they be called the Founding Families: the Gilberts, the Forbes, the Fells, the Lockwoods and the Salvatores.

She had a mother, Abigail (for her friends Abby) Gilbert who had left without any explanation when Blair was only three years old.

And she had a father, Charles, who had walked out of her life as well when Blair was ten. Sure, she heard from him on the phone or received the odd card for her birthdays and Christmases but all in all, he wasn't a part of her life. The excuse had been that he had been offered a job he couldn't refuse, the possibility to become partner of a prestigious law firm in Richmond.

The truth was that Charles simply didn't know how to be a father, especially without his wife. He had been often away for work anyway, even when he had lived in Mystic Falls, and Blair had practically been raised by her grandmother Sheila Bennett and her uncle and aunt, Grayson and Miranda Gilbert – Elena's parents.

Despite both her parents abandoning her, Blair's life was rather happy. Her uncle and aunt were like parents to her, her grandmother was rather eccentric but took good care of her – always ready with a cup of hot cocoa and stories about her youth – and she had Elena and Caroline.

Elena, especially, was like a sister to her. They lived in the same house, they were the same age and their personalities fit each other well. They were also popular and well-liked at school – and both cheerleaders as well – so Blair could say, all in all, that she had nothing to really complain about.

That was until the untimely death of Elena's parents. It was at the end of May, during their sophomore year. They had gone to a party but then Elena had had a fight with her then boyfriend Matt and had wanted to leave. Blair would have gone with her but Elena had insisted that she stayed. In truth, Blair had been having fun so she had mostly offered to go with Elena to be nice.

That night, Grayson and Miranda's car went off Wickery Bridge, and both of them drowned while Elena, who was in the backseat, miraculously survived.

Blair didn't know it yet but that night would mark the moment when her rather quiet, normal life would come to an end.

First came her birthday, a little more than two months after the accident, which brought back memories of a life she had no idea she had lived.

Then came her grandmother's outlandish tales that she came from a family of witches (again!) even though she hadn't shown a hint of magical powers in the seventeen years she had been alive.

And then, of course, in September, came them, the Salvatore Brothers, Stefan and Damon.

Once again though, Blair had no idea what kind of far-reaching consequences their arrival would cause to the small town of Mystic Falls.

Blair had never had the gift of foresight however. Divination had been one of her worst subjects at Hogwarts after all.
