I just want to say thank you for those of you who read my chapter 1. I decided to start this story because there weren't any stories that had what I was looking for. So I hope this is what you were looking for also.
Chapter 2
Lucy's POV
We're all making our way up the steep slope on the mountain side. Instead of my usual mini skirt, I'm wear skinny jeans, and a sweater, due to the colder weather. Which is unusual for me. Maybe that's way Natsu looked at me funny this morning at breakfast.
Climbing up the mountain you can see patches of snow all over the place. The sun is well over the horizon, but it's still giving of that morning glow. "Man, I thought we'd be there by now, how far up is this cave?" I complain. We have been climbing for about an hour and a half now, and my legs are getting weaker with every step.
"Hey I think I see an opening!" Gray says looking up, over Erza's shoulder. Further up there is a slight ledge with a hidden opening that you wouldn't have been able to see if you were down on the ground. "Lets keep moving." Orders Erza, leading us up the mountain.
When I lift my foot, I accidentally place it on a loose rock, and immediately I slip down a few feet before getting caught. My feet are in an awkward sliding position, and my hands are on the ground, a result of me trying to catch myself. And I feel a strong arm around my waist. I open my eyes and look up to see Natsu grinning down at me. "Luce you gotta' be careful." He says like he has said it a million times before, (which he indeed has).
I regain my footing, and look up the hill. Everyone but us made it to the top. I look back over at Natsu. "Thanks Natsu." I say smiling like a dork. "No prob, come'on." He exclaims already making his way back up the mountain side, and I follow behind, placing my feet where he once had his.
When we make it up to the, we see everyone else heading into the cave. Natsu helps me get up over the ledge. We jog up to the others waiting for use. "Gees slow pokes what took you guys so long?" Gray says in a mocking tone. Natsu shot him a disapproving look. "Wanna go Ice pop?!" "Natsu I don't think now's the time for this." I say quietly, hope not to startle any Vulcan's that could be near us. Natsu calms down slightly but he's still staring Gray down.
"Lets keep moving." Erza says once again. 'I wonder if she broke.' I thought to my self.
We start to head down the cave tunnel. As we head further in, the light at the entrance starts to fade. Were walking so that, it was Erza and Gray beside each other, then Natsu and I, and Lisanna at the back. I can feel her heated stare at the back of my head, so I turn around and she shoots me an awkward smile. I smile back and turn around. 'She must dislike me.' I think sadly. "Hey flame brain light us up will ya?" "You wanna mess with fire, ice freak?" Natsu say growling low. He lifted his hand up to head height and lights his fist a flame.
Besides Natsu's flame, the cave was rather cold. We began to approach a room like area. Erza shushes us to be quiet, as we peek around the side wall. What we see is this: a rood full of Vulcan. And when I say full I mean FULL, like to the rim of a cup, full. There had to be about 32 of them in there. Besides them the room was large, they had stolen goods all over the place. There was even a cage with woman and teenage girls, there had to be about 7 of them.
The Vulcan look to be sleeping, I wave over at the girls to try and get their attention. Lisanna looks at me questionably and understands. She too starts an attempt to gain the girls attention. One of the younger looking one's sees us and waves back I give her a 'shush' sign to be quiet like Erza had before.
Erza pulls us back behind the wall. "Ok here's the plan." When Erza is done explaining the plan we all head out to do our designated tasks. I had to go release the girls, which I volunteered to do. Approaching the girls they stand and wait for me to get to them, looking around hoping they don't get caught. I reach them and explain to them what to do after. "When I let you out, I want you all too quietly make your way to the entrance of the cave and wait there until we come back. The mountainside is steep and dangerous to go down alone. Ok?" I whisper to them
In return I get a bunch of complied head nods. I look for the door part of the make shift cage. When I find it, there is a lock holding it tight. I look around for the key that could fit. One of the girls taps me on shoulder I look up to her and she points to the Vulcan next the rear side of the cage. "Great." I mumble to my self. I look back to the group and they encourage me to get the key.
I sigh, and tip-toe my way over to the Vulcan. He was lying on his back, snoring bubbles. His hands lied, on his stomach. He was smaller compared to the others there. The keys were under his back side. I bent down to reach the keys, and slowly pull them out from under him. When the keys come free I grasp them to prevent them making any noise. I check to see if the Vulcan woke up at all. He didn't. I slowly stood and tip-toed back to the door. I grabbed a key that looked like it could fit in the hole. It did. I turned the key popping the lock open. The door quietly squeaked open, that's when the rest of the team came in assuming there positions. I followed the girls to the cave hall making sure they left ok.
I look around and spotted Natsu, he smiles wide and gave me a thumbs up. He's standing on the far side of the room up on a higher ledge than the rest of us. Lisanna is standing under the ledge and a short distance to the right. Gray is up against the wall parallel to the cave's hallway and Erza across from him. I'm standing guard at the hallway, so that none of them can escape.
All at once we start them awake. Natsu roars all over them, Lisanna turn into her animal soul; cat form, Gray uses his ice lance, Erza releases her swords And I pull out Sagittarius, and fires arrows into the air hitting their targets.
They yelp and screech in surprise and pain. They jumped up and looked around for their attacker(s). Defending there territory they attacked in return. This lasted for a while, one by one they fell. Natsu used his fire, Gray used his ice, Ezra her swords, and Lisanna her different transformation forms. I pulled out spirit after spirit, and we all beat the Vulcans.
When they were all defeated, we gather as many things as we could carry, to bring back to their rightful owners.
*skip to when they return to the mayors' house*
"Thank you so much for saving our town!" The mayor exclaimed happily. "It was no trouble at all!" Natsu replied chuckling at the mayors' behaviour. "Take your reward. You earned it." The mayor handed an envelope with jewels to Erza to pocket and sort out later. We leave the mayor's house and head back to the hotel for one more night. "Man I can't believe that took all day!" Gray complained. 'Usually I'm the complaining.' I think annoyed by that fact.
"Hey! I wanna a share a room with Luce tonight!" Natsu shouts over everybody, as the hotel comes into view. "WHAT! No way Natsu!" I shout with surprise. True it was to be expected of the slayer but seriously did he have to make it so embarrassing?!
"Why not Luce? It's not like we haven't slept in the same bed before." He says nonchalantly. "Ya, that's you sneaking into my house in the middle of the night and snaking your way into my bed!" I yell trying to defend myself.
"You guys do that?" Lisanna pips in sounding confused, shocked and slightly jealous. "Ya flame brain has a bad habit of braking into Lucy's house, pretty much all the time." Gray says like it's the most ordinary thing in the world. "I don't see why not." Erza says with glee. But look closer you can see a slight blush in her checks. At the same time you can hear "WHAT!" and "YES!"
By now we had reached our hotel rooms. Natsu grabbed my hand and the key Gray so smugly handed out to him. Natsu whips open the door and shoves me in, despite all my complaints he still doesn't listen. I stumble into the room from the force of his through. When I regain my balance I look around, 'this isn't the same room I stayed in last night.' It was the boy's room, their room was a mirrored version of the girls.
I turn around to see a grinning Natsu, his eyes shut, his hand on his hips standing up strait and proud like he owns the damn world. I straiten up and say, "Natsu I don't have any of my things." His smile doesn't falter, if anything his smile grows. 'That's not good.' "That's ok we can share mine." he exclaims like he won a prize. "Natsu I need pyjamas." I say seriously crossing my arms over my chest. He opens his eyes and says, "You can where one of my shirts." "You don't have any shirts, you wear vests." I say obviously.
"Sure I do Luce." His smile fading slightly. He walks past her to his things, set on one of the beds. He unzips his pack, and starts to dig around trying to find his goal, mumble things to himself. I take a few steps towards him before he shout out an 'ah ha' and turns around holding up thee most ugliest shirt I have ever seen. "Bwahahaha!" Natsu lowers the shirt and looks at me like I kicked his puppy. "What's so funny!" he demanded.
"That is… thee… worlds… ugliest shirt." I say coming down from my laughing fit, and straitening up. "What, it is not, this is my favourite shirt to sleep in!" he says offended, giving me puppy dog eyes. I look in his eyes seeing his plea. I hold my hand out for him to give me his shirt. He smiles warmly at me and hands the shirt over. Taking the shirt I make my way towards the bathroom.
Closing the door to the bathroom, I turn to hold the shirt out in front of me. 'Well I suppose it's not that bad.' I think with a not-so-sure face. It's long almost to my knee, length. It's a washed out pink and yellow coloured diagonal stripped tee. I strip out of my clothes, except my bra and underwear, which I have a regular blue bra, and some blue boxer like underwear. I roll the shirt over my head. The shirt is obviously a few sizes too large, like I thought it reached to about my mid thy. The neck hole is larger and I slip it over my shoulder and the sleeves almost reach my elbows. I gather my things in a pile and leave it on the counter.
I walk out of the bathroom to see Natsu already sprawled out all over the bed, snoring away, in only his pants. I sigh and walk over to the other side of the bed, push him over a little, pull the covers back and get in. I reach over to turn the lamp beside the bed off.
After a few minutes I feel Natsu's weight shift off then back on the bed. Only this time he's under the covers with me. I pretend I'm asleep, and I can feel him reach over and hook his arm around my waist, and pulls me close to him. I can feel the shirt rise up a little, from the gesture. He cuddles his head into the back of my neck, "See it's not so bad." I turn around to face him, not even minding that he has his arms around me.
"No I suppose not." I say yawning. He smiles and pulls me to his chest. "Night Luce." He says into my hair. "Good night Natsu." I smile happily into his chest, loving the warmth he was emitting. Eventually we both actually fall asleep.
Lisanna's POV
Once Natsu had closed the door behind Lucy and him, Erza and Gray chuckle to each other. We all follow Erza next door. Once inside I check the time. Erza is going through her things and Gray is already sprawled out on one of the beds. "I'm going to head out." I tell them, making my way back to the door. "What for?" Erza questioned. I turn back and flash a really cute smile. "There was something in one of the stores here that I've been meaning to get my hands on." I play it off as something she doesn't need to worry about. In all honestly I'm not lying.
"Alright but don't be to long we have to leave early tomorrow." Erza informs me, taking her pyjamas into the bathroom. "Bye guys." I say closing the door. When I close the door, I can hear Lucy laughing really hard and Natsu asking her what's so funny. That should be me in there with him. I shake the feeling away, and walk down the hallway to the closest exit.
Out side in the fresh night air, I can clear my head from all the nonsense. But the one thing that can't leave my thoughts is the Natsu and Lucy situation. Seriously I was Natsu childhood friend, and she comes along taking Natsu's attention away from me. I start my way towards the direction I saw the store in.
Ok fair enough I wasn't around, but it wasn't my fault. Me being transported to Edolas, was not something I wanted to happen. True I didn't die, but I left everyone I knew. And the Edolas Natsu and Lucy were together there. That almost broke my heart. But I had to remember that wasn't my Natsu. And I will have my Natsu. I will make sure he and Lucy never share a kind word between the two of them again. I will make Lucy pay for taking Natsu away from me, and I will laugh as she withers in pain, with Natsu by my side.
There always together, they say. Their inseparable, they say. They'll end up together, they say. Ugh it drives my mad; the guild is always talking about Natsu and Lucy like there they're meant to be. Well they're not, and I'm going to change that. I angrily think to myself, as I enter the store I came to this town for.
