Rain

A low, rumbling growl of thunder darted Susan and Elizabeth out of their afternoon siesta. It was only 1:34pm according to the bedside clock, but the dark rainclouds made the bedroom much darker than it should be.

Susan got up from the bed and opened the curtains beside. In front of her is a sudden downpour of rain crashing its watery trail into the cold, hard concrete.

"Glad it's our day off today.", Susan thought, sighing in relief. The raindrops further intensified, the atmosphere getting darker and darker by the minute.

"I think we'll be better off downstairs.", Elizabeth said.

Sword

The loud, resounding cry coming from Ella's room pierced the wild rush of water outside like a sword cutting through flesh, causing Elizabeth to reluctantly get up.

"I better get to Ella.", Elizabeth said, walking out of the room. "The rain might be scaring her."

Susan trailed behind Elizabeth on her way out until they reached the stairs. She then went down the living room looking for something to do. Going out in this weather is not an option.

Her eyes led to Elizabeth's DVD collection below the TV. Looks like today's a perfect time to bring out the popcorn.
