It's been a long time since I've picked up this story since all the original documents have disappeared and I don't have all the data like I used to. So forgive me as I get back to the swing of things and some characters may be a little out of character for right now. I also have an original character for helping with some other areas of the plot... I'd love for people to let me know how they like the story or if they have any problems that I could fix in the story (besides some original characters).

Tseng couldn't help but think about Reno. The red head meant a lot to him and he couldn't deny that he loved him very much, but he didn't want people to portray him differently and decide to not follow orders so they'd always kept their relationship a secret. He'd put up with Elena's constant flirting. But today was different than a usual day, Reno wasn't there to give him dirty looks after Elena had been flirting, he wasn't there to playfully hide underneath the desk and tease him when the others came into the room. The lack of his presence seemed to make everything dull and cold, just waiting for that spark of life. It almost made him feel lonely. He looked over at the calendar hanging on the wall and sighed, tomorrow was the day that they had met. Tomorrow was the day that Reno had appeared out of nowhere and saved his life and became a Turk. He smiled softly thinking to himself how tomorrow they would stay at Reno's apartment since it actually was much bigger than Tseng's studio apartment, sit on the couch and talk about things and sometimes if it was a good day, things would start to head to towards the bedroom. Reno's sadistic, masochistic nature hadn't earned him the nickname Mr. Kink among close friends and lovers for nothing.

"Maybe I should just leave early for the day…" he looked through the glass windows looking over where the other Turks were working away in their offices. "No… I'd better not, things would just end up going to hell here."

"I'm glad to see that you have such a high opinion of us boss." Rude stepped into the office carrying a huge stack of papers, clearly both his and Reno's paperwork from their previous missions.

"R-rude you ever learn how to knock?" he tried to sound grouchy but it came out more startled sounding than anything.

"I did knock you're just off in your head somewhere… Which isn't smart boss." Rude shook his head handing the papers over.

"Thank you for finishing all this on such short notice." Tseng tried to regain his composure.

"All of Reno's papers have been done since the first of the week. He usually has everything done early so that he can take the chopper out for the rest of the week." Rude replied looking over at Tseng's raised eyebrow.

"He's very good at doing his work, even though he may come off as lazy and sadistic some days… and others he may well…" Rude didn't want to go into any more detail than that on the subject of his partner.

"How long have you known him Rude?" Tseng knew that Rude had gone to the same training camp that Reno had.

"Long enough. He was 12 then, just a lot different than he is now. He used to stay calm and acted like a robot some days and slowly I saw him break out of the shell he'd made around himself. It was like seeing someone who had never experienced anything come to life."

Tseng looked up at the words he spoke, "Like a robot?"

Rude nodded, "The instructor who had taught the class had a history of screaming at the recruits to shoot him if they had any balls… And well young recruits are always so timid around guns and the matter of killing. With Reno it never seemed to faze him at all. He took the gun and shot the instructor seven times in the face."

"I never heard about that… and I was actually part of the organization then. They must've tried to cover it up." Tseng sighed trying to process the information. "Why wasn't this in Reno's personnel file?"

Rude shrugged at the thought as if saying 'I don't know.'

"Thanks again and have a good weekend…" Tseng stopped cold when the emergency lights went off sending all the workers into a full blown panic mode. He answered his phone through the blaring sound hearing Rufus on the other end.

"You have to go catch the escaped experiment that seems to have activated again. Make sure to bring it back safe and sound so that they can perform tests on it." Rufus sounded aggravated and had a slight tinge of intoxication in his voice.

"Of course sir… It will be done." He hung up the phone looking back up at Rude, "Get ready we have an experiment to go capture." He stood up pulling his guns from the desk drawers heading down the stairs with the bigger Turk.

"Ugh…" Reno couldn't feel his mouth anymore, it seemed to become a paper type substance and his bones seemed to feel like they were being ripped apart and roughly sewn back together.

"W-what's happening…" he rasped out trying to move from his spot on the bed only to fall back down. Every time he tried to think about the pain and who he needed to call it seemed like someone was blocking his mind from the information because all he could see were numbers and it caused his head to hurt more with each passing thought.

"Tseng…" his eyes fluttered once the pain became too hard to bear, "I'm sorry… about… tomorrow…"

The cars raced towards the apartment complex that Tseng knew Reno lived in, and the thoughts that came to his mind sent a nauseated feeling to his stomach. 'Just hold on a bit longer Reno.' Was all he could think about as the vehicles raced to the scene, trucks of SOLDIER units had arrived ahead of them and already surrounded the building. Tseng was probably more surprised when Cloud, heading along probably another delivery route pulled over the see the commotion.

"Tseng, what's going on?" Cloud didn't like the look of things obviously from the apparent look of disdain written across his face.

"We've had an experiment escape somehow… Not that there are even supposed to be any experiments going on anymore." Tseng shook his head trying to figure out the situation himself. It was all puzzling to him how an experiment had escaped yet the labs had stopped working on human bio genetics projects like before, everything now was in favor of trying to prolong the life of this world for the people living on it.

"Tseng… Rufus sent me to help handle the situation." A gorgeous woman with black hair and ice cold blue eyes walked up in her SOLDIER gear. Cloud's eyes widened at the sight of her, though she was clearly a woman and a lot smaller built than he was, she was almost a clone of him, the man who had given his life to save him and made him his living legacy, Zack Fair.

"I've got everything under control, you don't have to come all the way out here for this." Tseng started.

"They were Rufus's orders… I can't disobey direct orders from the President." She replied not paying Cloud any attention, until he called out to her.

"Who are you?!" his face was twisted up in anger startling both her and Tseng.

"There's no time for this Cloud! Reno's inside and he could be hurt…" Tseng tried to interrupt them.

"Tell me who you are… How do you look so much like him…?" Cloud gritted his teeth.

"Like Zack Fair? Probably because he was my brother… My name is Zera Fair… I am Zack's twin sister." She turned away from him looking back at the building before it exploded sending the platoons into a panic.

"Let's fight about this later blondie… I have work to do." She turned ignoring both Tseng and Cloud heading into the smoke.
