Chapter 2: Just a Normal Day
Peridot woke up just like every morning with pumpkin waking her up and her cursing the fact that she stayed up so late. She rolled out of bed and walked over to her stuffed dresser. She rummaged through the drawers full of clothes and grabbed up some of her more dressier clothes. She knew that today was picture day for the ID's so she wanted to look at least a little more dressed up. She walked over to her mirror and decided not to fix her messy hair. She was up a little bit early than when she would have because she had an idea. She went to the fridge and grabbed some eggs from the carton. She made some scrambled eggs using the whole 12 pack they owned and she ate around one fourth of the eggs and then she wrapped up the leftovers purposely leaving it on the counter. Peridot then grabbed her boots from the front door and slipped them on. She was quiet throughout the morning to make sure not to wake her mother that was sleeping in today. Peri slipped out through the front door making sure that the door creaks were kept to a minimum. She stepped out onto her small but homey porch where everything was covered in the dew of the morning. She looked over to her neighbors house where a single light was on in the bottom corner of the house. She had seen that moving truck there a little over a week ago and yet she never really saw anyone enter or leave the house. She stood there until she saw a shadow in the window. The light inside of the house was flicked off in the blink of an eye. Peridot shook her head and turned to head down the road. Peridot always had a good memory so she tried her luck walking to school today. She walked through the small beach town and passed numerous shops. The cold air from the sea whipped into her face. She pulled out her gym shirt that she had packed into her already stuffed backpack and wrapped it around her face in a tactical battle position. She was breathing heavily and fogging up her glasses. She continued walking until……
*WHAM*
She ran into something or someone. It felt like running into a brick wall. She grabbed her glasses off the ground and put the on.
"Omg I am so sorry……" Peridot started apologizing profusely until she realised that nothing was there. She looked around and knew she must of hit someone as there was no building or pole in a good ten feet of her. She just looked around puzzled and stood up. She grabbed her book bag and just started back onto walking to school.
Peridot reached the school 5 minutes right before the bell rang. She walked inside and just went straight to her homeroom class. She sat down and watched as the kid who were all energetic at the beginning of school trudge around the halls complaining that they were up to early. She just ran through her head what in the hell she could have ran into. Her inermonologing made her miss the fact the bell had rung. She was pulled back out of thought once she saw everyone in her starting class stood up to push through the small little door. She packed up her things and then looked up as her teacher was standing in front of her.
"Helllllooooo….. How are you??" Peridot stared at her teacher as she just stood there.
"Hey Peridot are you ok? I know it is early in the year and that you might just be tired but you looked so out of it today." Peridot's teacher whose name was at the tip of her tongue put a hand on the shoulder of Peri. Peri jumped back a bit and then spoke in a fast tone to escape the awkward encounter.
"Yeah yeah…. Im ok something just startled me this morning that's all." Peridot's teacher retracted her hand and simply smiled with a false sense of happiness. She just spoke softly to give Peridot a false sense of comfort.
"Well just know if you need anything I am here for you." Peridot just nodded at the teacher and walked swiftly out of the class.
Peridot's day was half over now and luckily her lunch ended up to be in the very middle of her schedule. She had lunch with all of her friends too which from the complaining around the school was rare enough to have the stars align. She found the same table they had been eating at for the past week and took her seat. She always sat on the east side of the round table. Amethyst and Pearl would sit in the south and southwest areas of the table. Garnet would always happen to be in the Library but when she did wander down to the Cafeteria she would sit on the north side closest to the wall. It almost looked like she was the head of the group and that the three others were her crownies but that was the farthest thing from the truth. Peridot wasn't taking any kind of demands from Garnet. Amethyst and Pearl showed up late with the much smaller of the two clinging to the arm of the taller friend. She was laughing so loud that Peridot was surprised that she didn't hear them coming from down the hallway. Peridot was typing at her laptop and barley picking at her leftover chinese from a week ago. She was assured that the chinese was no longer good to eat but she was sure it would be better than the school's food. Peridot would look up from her laptop when there would be a large applause from the bigger tables. It was almost time for homecoming and people were starting to ask each other if they would like to go. She got fed up with it once the table's erupted for around the fourth time that day. She just rolled her eyes and put on her headphones. She scrolled through her Spotify playlist called Chill and picked out one of her favorite songs. Two Together and started to kick her typing into hyper gear. She was easily typing more than she had ever typed before. Peridot looked down at the time and saw the her digital watch read 11:30. She had 15 more minutes to finish up her chapter. She looked at the word count and saw a whole ten thousand words had been typed just this period. She just gave herself a small pat on the back and just went back to typing up a new chapter and then got started when people around her started clapping. She looked past her computer screen and saw Amethyst on one knee and Pearl freaking out. It was the cheesiest and the most adorable thing she had ever seen. But in a bad way she got sick to her stomach. Maybe it was the bad chinese but she doubted it. Once everyone was done clapping the two sat back down and just went back to doing there small little flirty things they always do.
Peridot was walking home today also. She just cut out the bus entirely. It was raining hard and Peridot didn't bring her umbrella so Peridot did the most logical thing she could ever think of……….She ran as fast as she could to her house. She reached her house in around ten minutes. When she got to her house her boots were filled with water. She removed her boots and placed them next to the door. She walked up to her front door and found a really weird and disturbing note on her door.
Next time do not forget an umbrella.

Peridot looked around really confused. She was never one to be concerned about stranger danger in her area because she was raised in a fairly safe neighborhood. Peridot just walked inside and shut the door. She turned and locked the door just to be safe. She trudged into her bedroom and plopped down onto her bed. She was dozing off slowly and thinking about all of the things she must do before she fell asleep. And just like that Peridot was knocked out cold.
*BANG*
Peridot woke up to a large bang in her front room. She jumped out of the bed and ran over to the window. There was no rain in sight so she knew it could possibly be rain. She grabbed her hockey stick she had stuck in her room for the time being and walked to the door. She slowly twisted the door knob and opened her bedroom door. She opened up to the hallway and took one big swing. Peridot hit the wall flush actually creating a hole in the wall. She walked into the main room. She peaked around the corner and saw what made the noise……. Pumpkin was sitting up on the counter. On the floor was an array of pots and pans that the small house cat clearly knocked over. Peridot just sighed and lowered her weapon. She walked over to the cat and started to scratch his head.
"You really like making my life a living hell don't you buddy." The cat just meowed and walked over to the rolled up bag of cat food laying on the counter. Peri just rolled her eyes and opened up the bag. She dumped a small portion into the cat bowl and just walked back into her room. She flopped back down onto her bed and watched as her hockey teams group chat light up because of the start of the season next week. Even though she was 15 years old she found herself trying to juggle a job, school, hockey and other personal activities. She was not ready for the first public skate she had to work at the rink tomorrow. She sighed and just threw her phone to the side. She looked out of her window and saw the house still dark and still seeming empty. The driveway was always empty and no one ever seemed to be home. Peridot didn't mind that however because it was one less person to annoy her around her. Peridot just rolled back over and started to doze off once again. She fell asleep for the final time once she heard her mothers keys jingling at the front door. She waited until the door was opened and then she fell asleep for the night.

Hey guys. How are we today. Me well I'm okay. Hey did you know that I wrote a second fanfic called Dorm Mates. That's right and I will be posting that with this one. If this story reminds you of a story that might be because I am taking an inspiration from my favorite Fanfic in The Girl Next Door by OldGreg55. I will not be using the exact same plot however. This will be completely took from my own mind. But anyways I hope you all have a great day my L-Dot Lovers.
