"O, how is it going so far? Having fun?" I ask my sister as she practically leaps into my arms. I am so happy to be with her that I can almost forget about the buzzing coming from the annoying creature next to us.
"What, Clarke? You thought that you were the only one good enough to get into this place? Just because your mom is on her way to getting a noble prize, you're the only one who deserves a top secret internship?" I raise my eyebrow at the girl glaring at me over Octavia's shoulder.
"No, I just think that trash like you should do what you're best at; leave. You won't last in this place. I bet you can't even make it a week, tops." She spits at me like an angry kitten.
I hate how adorable she is. I can almost forget about what happened between us, but then I see the hate in her eyes are realize that even if I could she never will. I do know a way to get her to spend time with me. Hatred or not, she is someone that I need on my side. Someone that I know I can't ignore. It's impossible. Just like a moth to the flame I can't stay away from her.
"Do you want to make this a true bet?" I ask her, stepping closer so that I can smell her strawberry shampoo; the shampoo that I bought her.
"Bellamy, we're not kids anymore." She says in a tone that I'm not used to her giving me. It's cold and distant.
"Scared?" I watch as the fire lights in her eyes. "Are you remembering all of the times that you lost against me?"
"Me? Lose? Please, I have never lost a bet." She sounds like her old self, playful and cocky.
"If you always win then why are you afraid to make this bet?" I step even closer. I can now smell the peppermint of her ever-present gum.
"Forget it, Bell. I'm not falling for that again."
"How about if I tell you that if you win then you can ask me anything and I'll answer truthfully?"
"I already know everything I need to know about you."
"That's not true. But fine, tell me what you want if you win and I'll even give you two weeks." I know she won't be able to back down from this.
"I want you to leave me alone. No more attempts to get ahold of me. No more talking to my mom. No more trying to get Octavia in the middle of this." She raises her eyebrow, expecting me to back down.
"Alright, I'll let you have that if I can have mine."
"Which is?"
"Nope. You have to agree first."
"I want to know what you want to win."
"Then agree."
"Fine. I'm in."
I do a jump for joy in my head. I know that I will be able to win this. I decide to rub it in a bit by bringing up our old tradition. "You know you can't agree with just words. You have to do it." I give her my best smile.
She glares at me but I can see in her eyes that her ego won't let her back down now. "Not out in the open. We have to go somewhere private."
"Just the way I like it." I wink at her and jump back before she can smack me. That's when I notice that Octavia is gone. When did she leave?
"There's a bathroom over here." Clarke points somewhere to the left.
"Lead the way, Princess." I motion with my hand towards where she pointed. She walks off and I follow while trying to hide my excitement.
"Don't call me that."
"Whatever you say." I wait for her sigh of relief before adding: "Princess."
She lets out a huff of air and kicks back.
"Ouch. You sure don't fight like a princess." I rub my throbbing shin. I forgot how hard she can kick. "Unless you're a warrior princess." What can I say? I'm a glutton for punishment.
Clarke looks around to see if anyone is watching and shoves me into the room before jumping in after me. I hear the lock click into place before she turns around to face me.
