Chapter Two
Leaning his back against the tree's trunk, Alex sighs sliding to the ground and, willing both his mind and body to relax. Either he hadn't truly woken up when he thought he had, and he was still lying in the forest having a concussion induced dream, or... And this was the possibility that truly unnerved him, he'd somehow found himself in an unfamiliar and completely foreign land. Sure, he'd never been out of Michigan, but he was pretty sure there wasn't anywhere like this in the rest of the states, or any other countries or continents for that matter.
A hard rap to his already throbbing head abruptly ends his musing. Opening his eyes he rubs his head and scans the ground trying to locate the hard object that fell. Spying a rather large acorn, his eyes turn skyward curious as to what might have dislodged it. Searching the branches he notices a curious looking tail, curious because although it looked feline in nature it was striped with alternating shades of purple. He clucked gently to the cat and called softly, "Here kitty, kitty".
"Who're you calling "kitty"?" A voice calls from the branch on which the cat's tail rests.
