"So, that's what happened?" The red-headed teen asked again as he stared at the girl in the white and gold dress.
"Yes, Baka Usagi, that's exactly how it happened! How many more time do I have to retell you before you get it?" Kanda stated, irritated at the red-heads skepticalness.
"It's just hard to believe that this cute and innocent looking girl was created by the Earl, and if so, why did he put a function that makes her scream in pain when an Akuma is near? It doesn't make any sense..." The red-head muttered as a purple-haired girl, and a man in a white beret, entered the room.
"I got my analyses back, and Kanda was indeed telling the truth. This boy is a creation of the Millennium Earl," The man in the beret suddenly said as he walked to his cluttered desk in the middle of the room, "The mission is a success as I already told you, but what I wasn't expecting was for the Heart to be a "living" creature made by the very person trying to destroy it. Kanda, as the person who rescued him, what do you say we do?"
"Nii-san! Why are you putting that kind of responsibility on Kanda, when he doesn't even know all the facts?!" The purple-haired girl argued as she tried to help her friend out of the compromising situation her brother had put him in.
"You're right, my darling Lenalee, I should have told him everything that I found and all the options available to him before telling him to make a decision that could very well get him horribly killed for treason!" The man in the beret cried as he clung to Lenalee rambling on about all the things he did wrong that she could have fixed with just her words.
"Shut it, sister-complex, and get on with it so the Baka Usagi can get off my back as well." Kanda commanded as he stared at the girl in the dress, "Wait, did you call her a him?"
"Yes, Kanda, I did, because he's a he." Komui quickly composed himself as he let Lenalee sit down on the couch in-between Kanda and the red-haired boy, "Don't act so surprised, Lavi, I didn't make a mistake with his anatomical bio-scan. He's a male."
The red-haired boy, Lavi, quickly closed his mouth and turned away from the boy in the dress, who he had been staring at skeptically to try and figure out if what the man said was true, "Then, why is he in a dress?"
"From what Kanda said, most likely to get him sold easier. Anyway, I was unable to unlock all the "abilities" that are apparently inside the boy's coding, but it appears that he is not completely robot." The man continued, shocking the others in the room.
"Komui, are you saying that he's half-human? Like some kind of hybrid?" Lavi asked, stunned.
"Exactly what I'm saying, the boy is most likely an orphan that they picked up and experimented on to try and make the perfect hybrid, which is what this "Nasod" thing is, I presume." The man, Komui, looked down at his desk when he thought of all the horrible things done to the boy, just for him to be sold like an object in the end, "I can turn him on, so he will function more like a human than machine, but I don't know what may occur once I've done that... He may break, or die, or he may suddenly become a complete machine and act on what the Earl programmed inside him...or...he may remember everything that was done to him..." Falling silent, Komui let the new information sink in, before continuing.
"From what I've told you, what do you want to do with him?" Komui looked back up to the determined faces of the three Exorcists sitting in front of him, "We can turn him into the Vatican, and you know what will happen after that. We can leave him as he is, and protect him as the Heart. We can turn him on, and risk having the worst consequences. Or, we can kill him, and put him out of his misery."
"What the fuck do you think we're going to say, you stupid sister-complex?" Kanda replied as he got up from the couch and walked over to the boy, still standing to the side of them as if merely decoration.
"Yu-chan's right! We can handle anything that comes our way, besides, what damage can a fragile boy like him do?" Lavi smiled as he also got up from the couch with his fist held high.
"Nii-san, please, keep this a secret from the higher ups. We'll do everything we can to help this boy get a part of his normal life back, no matter what we'll have to risk." Lenalee stood in front of her brother with a pleading smile on her face.
"How could I say no?" Komui smiled back as he got together the necessary equipment he would need to bring the boy back from where the Earl had put his consciousness, "I can never say no to you."
