"Despite his speech patterns being stuck in the 60's he's smart. Real smart." Shaun said gently tapping a pencil to his bottom lip while hanging upside down from the ceiling of his bedroom. "Using a magnum instead of a plasma pistol and on top of that using an outdated yet stylish Cadillac to make his escape. The police would've been looking for something more modern." He mused actually praising how Franky's ability to plan ahead.
"But nonetheless." He said with a sigh landing softly on the floor without a sound. "He didn't count on me!" The young web slinger said with a cheeky smile.
"Baby! Get ready for school, it's almost 7:00 I don't want you to be late again, because if one more teacher calls me about you being only 5 to 20 minutes late again, I'M gonna go down there and lay hands on all of them!" Shaun laughed as the sweet voice of his mother called up the stairs.
"Mama, please don't go ghetto on them, they're not ready!" He called back with a smile. "I'll be ready in 5 minutes I promise!"
"OK! Don't forget to eat again either!"
"Mom OK!" Shaun called back with an easing tone to his voice. "I won't forget if you remember to take all your medicine today and order take out!" he called hearing a groan.
"I thought I was the Mama!"
"You are!" Shaun called back voice a little muffled as he brushed his teeth with an electric toothbrush. "But even Mama's forget! Just remember to take it, please?" He asked with slight desperation in his voice the tone carrying a hidden message.
I can't lose you.
"OK baby...I won't forget." She replied back in a softer tone.
Satisfied with that answer, Shaun finished getting ready dressed in a pair of jeans, his signature black hoodie that was unzipped and a black T-shirt underneath finishing it off with a pair of white sneakers.
"Aw, you look so handsome!" Mrs. Lawrence said with a smile pinching her son's cheeks something she knew he was a little too old for, but didn't care in the slightest. Shaun and his mother shared multiple similarities. Kind brown eyes, hair color and texture along high cheekbones the only things that really set them apart was the shape of Shaun's face, skin tone, whereas Shaun's was a bit darker than her's, and his nose. Other than that they would look almost exactly alike.
"Maaaa!" Shaun whined playfully softly, grabbing his mother's hand. "I know I am, but I'm your son woman for God's sake control yourself!"
Mrs. Lawrence just rolled her eyes and kissed the top of her only son's head. "Hush boy, and have a good day." She then placed a paper bag in his hands. "Sheryl told me they were having chicken spaghetti for lunch today and I know you don't like how that bitch Margret cooks so I made you some chicken wings."
"Thank you Mama." Shaun said gratefully kissing her cheek. "I'll be back by 9:00 or at least I'll try to be." Shaun said with a tinge of regret in the back of his mind. While it was true, he had an after school job on certain days at a local comic book shop he only had to work there for an hour two hours tops. The rest of his time he spent being the protector of this city since someone had to be.
"As long as you come back baby." She replied lovingly wrapping her arms around her son in a hug. "Now Go!" She exclaimed with a smile. "Make Mama proud."
A bright smile spread across Shaun's face as he gave a nod. "I always do." With that, he kissed his mother one last time on the cheek before opening the door and waving goodbye.
"Yes you do Spiderman...Yes you do."
"Mother-" A bird was hit with a small ball of webbing that ensnared it wrapping it's wings together around it's body. "That's what you get for trying to shit on me little bastard!" Shaun said with a twitching eye he'd always had problems with this bird almost every day outside the school doors, but today the curly haired boy had surprised it by coming from the back behind the dumpsters.
"Awwww." Shaun pouted seeing it's pitiful state wiggling on the ground trying to get free before picking it up and punting it over the building. "Idgaf times ten." With his nemesis defeated finally Shaun dusted his hands off and walked into school getting to his locker entering the password on the screen next to it.
S-P-I-D-E-Y D-E-A-T-H B-O-N-E-R
"Hah!" Shaun laughed opening his locker. "Classic." The young hero said pulling out a see through tablet and closing his locker walking to class.
"Mr. Lawrence!" "Actually on time? I'm shocked." The teacher of Shaun's homeroom which was advanced science said from his seat in a floating chair as a holographic screen floated behind him. "Yeah, well my Mom told me to "go to hell" so here I am!" Shaun joked with a smile getting the usual reaction of laughs and snickers as the teacher Mr. Noidic a middle aged man of German/French descent of average height for a male about 5'9 wearing a white lab coat with a blue button up shirt (of course it was plaid) and khaki's pointed his pen at him.
"One more crack like that and you're off to the principal's office again Mr. Lawrence!" Shaun yawned at the mild threat. "Yes sir." He replied albeit with respect though his eyes clearly said that he didn't give a damn. Satisfied with that answer Nordic turned his chair back around. "Now...Cold Fusion!" The class gave a collective groan as a tick mark appeared on the back of Nordic's head.
"SHUT UP!"
"Stereotypical as it may be I love me a piece of fried chicken!" Shaun said happily licking his lips before his Spidey Sense went off causing him to sigh and walk out of the cafeteria around the corner down the hall.
"Let him Go Fuller!" Shaun called with authority crossing his arms looking at an all too familiar scene of a tall 6'2 behemoth with an I.Q of Duh wearing an old letterman's jacket black hair in a flat top with the average "jocky" build holding up a rather short boy of 5'2 off the ground by his collar. Samuel "J" Fuller New Midtown High's resident bully and one of many of the school's top athlete's. The boy he was holding was Jagson Edwards...don't ask. Jagson was of course one of the top minds in school and like retarded moths to a flame he was constantly picked on almost every other day for not only his name, but his unfortunately nasally voice and medical conditions.
"I C-C-Can't breathe!" Jagson choked out as Fuller and his posse busted out in a fit of laughter. "Do you even hear yourself? Man Jag off you sound like a chipmunk gargling on acorns!"
"First of all..." A tiny crack was heard as Shaun chopped Fuller's wrist making him scream in pain and drop Jagson to the ground. Thanks to his quick reflexes Shaun was able to catch him before he hit the ground putting him down softly on his feet before turning back to the Future Assholes of America Squad.
"That insult was about as wack and outdated as that haircut you've got, and don't don't nobody rock letterman jackets no more my boy. Style it up throw some leather on and I don't mean the Mr. Slave costume you break out every time you and your two girlfriends use when you go to "football" practice."
"You bastard!" Fuller growled hatefully holding his possibly broken wrist tightly in his other hand glaring hatefully at the curly haired hero. "I SWEAR one of these days you're gonna go down!" He screamed hatefully as his friends pulled him down the hall to the nurse's office
"The only thing going down on me is your sister! Every night..." A shit eating grin formed on Shaun's face. "On Thursday's...at five o'clock. Oh would ya look at that TODAY'S Thursday!" Shaun smiled wider at the scream of crazed rage that was heard around the corner.
The curly haired boy then turned to his friend or at least he considered them both friends and had offered countless invitations to hang out, but the boy was so damn socially awkward it was almost impossible!
"Here ya go J. " Shaun said handing Jagson his favorite pen with a smile as the shorter boy took it gratefully standing up fixing his clothes. "Thanks Shaun...again." Jagson said with downcast eyes as Shaun put his hand on his shoulder causing Jagson to look up at him and his familiar kind smile.
"Hey, don't worry about it dude. There's a commandment. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" That's something my mom drilled into my head since I was little. I can't just stand by and watch some asshole beat up on you because he comes from a broken home. Don't sorry about it...I got ya." Shaun said to the spectacled boy as the boy in question looked at him in awe.
"Now let's go get something to eat." Shaun said patting Jagson's back catching him as he almost fell over. "Ooh. Sorry about that don't know my own strength!" He said sheepishly rubbing the back of his head as they both walked to the cafeteria.
"I appreciate everything you've done for me in the past up till now Shaun. Honestly I do, but you won't have to worry about protecting me anymore come tomorrow." Jagson thought discreetly pulling out a small green vial halfway out of his pocket. "Tomorrow they'll pay. They'll all PAY!"
