So here's another chapter that will start the actual story.

"Omg! I love these lockers!" Kelly practically squealed.

"That's great." Mia muttered in response.

"Aren't you enjoying the first day of high school?" Kelly asked in shock.

"Honestly? No." Mia replied, waving a handful of handouts in Kelly's face. "I've been to two classes and already have enough papers that I'm pretty sure they killed the rainforest to make. And on top of that I have to go to choir now because they won't let you play guitar in the band or orchestra here."

"What's the problem with choir?" Kelly asked innocently, although she knew the answer.

"What's wrong with…? Oh I don't know. You mean besides the fact that I can't sing?" Mia was really starting to freak out at this point. She didn't like to sing. She was being extremely tempted by one of her other past times, running.

"Okay! Well I'll see you later. I've got the next class with Eric!" She half screamed as she skipped away, down the hall.

Sighing, Mia turned and walked down the hall to the choir room. As soon as she walked in she knew she was in trouble. There were two sets of people. A group of pretty, popular girls. And everyone else. Mia looked at the group of girls who gave her a glare, then at the other group who wouldn't meet her eyes. Accepting defeat she walked to the back and sat down there.

"Welcome class!" The teacher said, surprisingly perky. A mumbled set of greetings followed from the students. "This year we'll be singing many wonderful songs and taking part in concerts for your parents and friends. Also we will be joining the drama club for a musical."

Mia groaned and let her head fall to the desk. Great, she thought, now I get to publicly humiliate myself twice as much.

"We will be performing a musical that was recently written by a senior here at Ermore High School. It is going to have very modern songs in it that I'm sure you'll all know." She continued, "Today we are going to start out with some songs that are from your generation. I'll have the lyrics running from the projector so anyone who doesn't know them can look there."

Again as Mia looked up at the screen above she groaned and let her head hit the desk, for the third time that day.
