Ed was singing softly to herself when Roy arrived the next day. He felt around for her hand. She grabbed his questing hand from her arm. "Hey, Mustang."
"Hey, Edwarda," he replied, smiling. "That's my favorite song." He let her lead him inside and to a place to sit down. She touched his face. His eyes fluttered shut as she removed the sunglasses, tracing the shape of them.
"They were black," she said softly. He opened them. They were now milky white and she felt like they were staring into her very heart. "I missed you."
"Can I get you something?" Somebody asked.
"Hot Chocolate, please," said Ed, pulling away from Roy.
"Nothing for me," he said automatically. Once he heard the footsteps fade, he sighed. "How's Alphonse?"
"He's in Xing with Mei. I haven't heard from him since..."
"Does he let you talk to anyone?"
"No. I have to keep silent unless told to talk." She looked down as he claimed her hand. "How's everybody here?"
"They're fine. Havoc can walk again."
"Good. Good. I bet you're relieved by that." Her hot chocolate was brought to them.
"I am." He waited for her to drink it. They kept chatting until it was time to leave.
