5 years later
"Only one more day until my birthday!" I squealed with delight as I walked into the kitchen.
Whoa, it actually smells good in here for once.
"Morning Harley." I said cheerfully.
"Huh? Oh hey kid." She said not even looking back at me. "Your food is already on the table so go eat."
"Then whose food is that for?"
"Mistah J of course! He has been working very hard lately so I thought I'd reward him with some of my yummy cooking. Now go eat and quit bugging me, I need to focus."
I sighed as I look over at the table. "You could've at least got the milk out for me." I mumbled as I walked over to the refrigerator. I opened it up and got the milk out. I shook the carton.
I hope it's still good.
I sat down at the table and poured the cereal into the bowl then the milk and started eating.
Suddenly, a gloved hand covered my face.
"Guess who?" A voice said darkly.
A smiled crept across my face. "Morning Joker."
"Someone's in a good mood." he said removing his hand from my face. "What's got you so happy?" he took a seat at the table across from me.
"You don't remember?" I said confused.
"What are you talking about kid?" Harley said walking over to us.
"My birthday? It's tomorrow. I'm turning 18 remember?"
They exchanged worried looks with each other.
"You guys forgot...again." I finished my cereal, got up and placed the bowl in the sink.
"Um, so what do you want? You know, for your birthday?" Harley asked suddenly.
"Nothing I guess."
"Well, there must be something you want." The joker added.
"I haven't really thought about what I wanted to be honest." I sniffed the air. "Um Harley the food is burning."
"Huh? SHIT!?" She rushed over to the stove and took the skillet off it. "No! It's ruined!"
"Who was that for?"
"You."
I spent the most of the day training and in my room.
I heard a knock at my door.
"Come in."
"Hey kid, me and Joker are going out tonight."
"Oh ok, have fun."
She winked at me and I just rolled my eyes.
"Actually, I'm going to have to cancel our little thing tonight Harley." The Joker said from behind Harley.
"Aw! Why?"
"I'm taking Felicia to see an old friend of mine. And no you're not coming with us."
"Old friend? Oh, him." She said pouting. "Why can't I come?"
"Because I said so."
"But Ivy might be there!"
"I don't care."
Harley glared at me and I just shrugged.
"We leave at 10."
Like the Joker said we left at 10. The Joker said he was taking me to this place called the Iceberg Lounge. Apparently, its owned by an old friend of his, though, he wouldn't say who.
As we approached the back ally, we saw three guys rolling dice. One of them looked up at us. He nudged the one who was about to roll.
"Gentlemen." I heard the Joker say.
The one with the dice in his hand nodded slightly and up, the other two did the same.
The Joker smiled at them and we continued walking down the alley.
I looked over my shoulder and saw that they resumed their game.
Why did they move? Usually when I'm out with the Joker we end up fighting a few people.
"It's all about, respect." Joker said as though he could read my mind.
Soon we made it to the back door of the club where a short chubby man and a body guard stood there waiting for us. The chubby man had a on a black tux, top hat, and a monocle. In his hand was a black umbrella.
"Well, if it isn't my old friend, Joker." He said smirking. "Where you been all his time?"
"Oh, you know me, just had to get away from it all for a while."
"Haven't seen you in 5 years Joker."
"It was a LONG while."
"Who's the kid?"
"Hmm? Oh, silly me. Haha. I forgot to introduce the two of you. Felicia. This is the one and only, Penguin."
So, this is the Penguin? Should have known by that bird-like nose he has.
He walked over and studied me slowly. "Hmm, she's a small little thing. Can she fight?" He said poking me with his umbrella. "She doesn't look like much."
"Oh, I assure you, she's an excellent fighter. Trained her myself. Perhaps you would like a demonstration?" The Joker said darkly.
The Penguin took out a pocket watch and glanced down at it. "Maybe later, right now, we got a meeting to go to. Follow me."
We followed him into the underground part of the Iceberg Lounge were all the villains hang out. The room was filled with people, music, and laughter.
"The girl stays here while we discus business." Penguin said loudly so we could hear him.
"You gonna be alright by yourself?" Joker whispered in my ear.
"I'll be fine."
"Alright…and no drinking."
They both walked off into a back room guarded by two muscular looking men.
I walked over to the bar and sat down.
"What's a girl like you doing with the Joker?" I heard a voice behind me say. I turned around and saw a man in a tan colored suit looking at me.
"I..I work for him." I said nervously.
"Really? Doing what?" He asked taking a seat next to me.
"Why do you wanna know?"
"Just curious."
I paused for a second, studying him for a bit.
"Well, basically, I do whatever he tells me to do."
"So, you're his henchmen."
"I prefer henchwoman, but yes."
"How did you come about being his 'henchwoman'?"
"I owe him, working for him as a debt, as soon as its be paid, I'm free to go."
"You must owe him a lot of money then."
"Oh no, I don't owe him any money." I laughed.
"Then?"
"My life."
He looked at me surprised.
"He saved my life about 5 years ago. I was 13 at the time."
"So you mean to tell me that you have been working for the Joker for 5 years?"
"Pretty much."
"Why didn' you run away?"
"Oh believe me, I tried. He just kept finding me and bringing me back."
"Hey Sal!" someone yelled out. We both turned and saw a black man in a navy blue suit approach us.
As he got closer I could see that he had a huge scar on the corner of his left cheek just like the Joker's.
"The meeting is starting. We better hurry." He said as he glanced at me.
"Right. If you excuse me." He said getting up. "Oh, it was nice meeting you..uh."
"Felicia."
"Felicia." He said smiling. "Well, see you around." With that said, they both left.
