Chapter Two
Jack Sparrow walked down the docks the next day looking for Mr. Gibbs, but he couldn't see neither hide nor hair of the damned man! He cursed himself before turning around to make his way back to the town centre and he walked slap bang into Madison.
"Arrghh!" He yelped which caused the younger woman to smile a little turning her cold beautiful face into a nice beautiful face.
"Hey, Jack." She said with a slight smile still on her lips.
"That's capt'n Jack to you missie!" He cried before taking a huge gulp of rum from the bottle he had in his hand, the sun blared down on Tortuga and he realised that he was pretty thirsty.
"So, I thought I'd just say thank you for what you did for me last night. You saved my life Jack… Captain Jack… and I kind of threatened to slit your throat for it." She frowned observing the narrow cut on Jacks neck.
"Oh tha'? It's nothin'. Nothin' m're than a scra'ch, but li'le maid'ns like y'u should probably keep in at that tim' o' nigh', don't want men takin' advantage of y'u." Jack twanged in a very piratish accent trying to scare the young blight off before she attacked him with her sword again.
"Oh Jack, you sure are intriguing." Madison smiled and tipped her hat a little before saying, "Well, good bye Jacky."
"Hey, wait!" Jack called and grabbed the young girls arm before drawing away at her glare.
"Don't touch me." She growled and then took a deep breath in, "Sorry… I'm just-"
"Madis'n Ellis?!" Gibbs said from behind Madison before she turned around.
"Gibbs!" She cried and leaned in to hug the old, stinky man that smelled like animal manure and pigs piss.
"W'at a s'pprise seein' y'u 'ere!" Gibbs yelled as he patted her back.
"You know this maiden?" Jack asked with a frown at Gibbs.
"Aye, Madis'n isn't no maiden! Th' lass is one o' us!" Gibbs laughed and that earned a very responsive look from Madison who rolled her eyes dramatically.
"I used to be one of you, Gibbs. Not no more, remember? My pirate days died with my father." Madison sighed sadly and then Jack realised who she was.
"Wait, you're the Madison Ellis?! The daughter of James Ellis?!" Jack exclaimed gob smacked.
"Of course I am you dummie." Madison rolled her eyes and adjusted the hat on her head, trying to get the sun out of her eyes.
"So… I think I need more rum." Jack said which earned a shake of a head from Madison.
"Aye, a drink sounds grand!" Gibbs agreed and then he turned to Madison, "Wou'd ye like t' join us lass?"
"Yeh, sure Gibbs. What are you doing in Tortuga anyway?" Madison asked Gibbs, and Jack did a sign behind Madison's back as if cutting his throat basically saying if Gibbs said anything he's be dead.
"And if Jack threatens to kill my friends I'll kill him. Go on, Gibbs." Madison said, knowing what Jack was doing which earned a supprised look by Jack.
"Aye, we is 'ere t' make th' pearl a grand vessel once aga'n!" Gibbs yelled and then Madison smiled.
"Yes, I heard about what happened to that ship, taken by black beard if I'm not mistaken? My father was the only pirate that Black beard feared y'know." Madison said matter of a factly. "Kind of like Jack's afraid of me."
"I'm not afraid of you, you're just scary!" Jack said defensively, making Gibbs's brow furrow and Madison rolled her eyes.
"That's the same thing you idiot." She face palmed herself and then sighed heavily.
"No it isn't." Jack said defensively before taking another swig of the rum, looking in the aged and cracked bottle as the last drip settled on his parched tongue and slid down his throat.
"Whatever Jack." Madison said dismissively, waving her hand in a strange fashion as if she was wiping the air clear of Jack's silly remarks.
"So wha' d' y'u say t' 'elpi' us find this 'ere t'ing t' fix old Jack's ship?" Gibbs grinned grubbily at Madison and she smiled as Jack shook his head at mister Gibbs.
"We have an accord, Mr. Gibbs." She smiled and then turned to Jack in an amused fashion, "You know if you don't comply I could always cut your throat and take the damned ship from you." She spoke sweetly.
"You think you could best me in sword to sword combat, love?" Jack raised an eye brown and then began to laugh. He placed his hand in his belt and with a metallic sound he quickly drew his sword and said, "Always be-" And then his sword hit metal as Madison had also drawn her sword.
"-Be prepared and never let your guard down!" Madison recited the words her father had taught her many years ago. "My father is famed as one of the best swordsman in the pirate world, do you really think he didn't teach me a few tricks, Jack?"
"I don't know, see. Ma'be we should put those 'ere skills t' test!" Jack began to swing his sword with great skill, manoeuvring the blade as if it was a simple extension of his body like some kind of third arm or hand that he could manoeuvre the blade with no difficulty what so ever.
"You think you're good Jack? I'm a lot better!" Madison challenged as she went blade to blade with jack, clanging her sword against his, parrying and lunging and gliding about like any experts swordsman would.
"You're good. For a girl." Jack teased before knocking her sword out of her hand and into anearby hay bale. Madison's grin widened and Jack felt his smile falter as the girl ran straight towards him, he lunged and she did a very incarnate back flip over the hilt of his sword, grasping the handle and yanking is from his hand while still in mid air, he let go through shock and she gracefully landed behind him with his own rapier to the back of his throat, threatening to cut his spinal chord in two.
"Who's the better swordsman?" She growled fiercely.
"False luck!" Jack protested, but it was no use, she pressed the blade more into his neck and he squeaked, "You!" Before she removed the hilt.
"Good." Madison smiled tenderly and handed him the sword back, he took the blade and their hands brushed together, she got a chill up her arm and felt herself quiver, to her surprise, Jack shivered too.
They said nothing of it as Jack placed the sword back into his belt and Madison went to collect hers.
"So do I get to come on your intrepid quest to get the black pearl back or not?" Madison asked Jack, no longer joking. Jack put his hand to his child, twiddled the twin plaits in his beard and made a 'Hum' sound.
"I guess you could tag along if that's what you wished." Jack grinned at her, "But first we are getting some rum!" He declared and then began to wobbly march over to the tavern closest to the dock area.
