AN: Yeah, it's been awhile. Almost a year in fact, but I couldn't just give up on this one. I had a major writers block for all my stories, but here is chapter two. And I will be continuing this one for some time. Sorry again for the wait.

Strychnine:

A colorless, odorless crystalline alkaloid. It has been used as a pesticide, and also a stimulant for athletes if given in small doses. It can be administered through inhalation, the eyes, and the mouth. Also, fun fact, this is a substance that has been added to cocaine at times. That's why some people will taste the drugs before they buy them, if it has a bitter taste it could possibly be laced with strychnine.

It was one of the few times Tony actually went to a business meeting. Pepper had forced him to go since she was at home sick with the flu and couldn't make the trip to some place in Europe. Tony had kinda tuned out when she had talked about the meeting weeks before and barely even knew the time and date he was supposed to arrive.

Jarvis of course had informed him and so Tony had jumped aboard his private jet and flown off towards what he would find out later to be La Défense, the business district in Paris, France. His arrival at one of the many skyscrapers was not greeted in the way he had expected.

Of all the business trips Tony could have gone on it had to be the one that Justin Hammer had planned. The second Tony's eyes had landed on the guy he was already shouting for Jarvis to deploy his suit as he adjusted the bracelets on his arms. Too bad Hammer had come prepared.

"Oh Tony, I don't think your little A.I. Will be hearing you any time soon. This little machine right over here is blocking all electronics in the room, except for itself and your arc reactor. I call it the EMP bubble." Justin had smirked as he bragged about the device

Tony had made an attempt at escaping back out the door but a fist the size of his head had hit Tony across the face and the lights went out.

Now Tony was tied to a chair in some dark room. There were no windows and a set of stairs directly in front of him led to the only door out.

I must be in some kind of basement.

After his eyes adjusted to the darkness Tony examined the room around him in more detail, but moving his head sent pulses of pain through his skull. He winced and shut his eyes for a moment and then reopened them. His focus now was on the bindings around his hands and feet.

His arms were tied around the back of the chair and his ankles to the legs of the chair. The chair itself was made of metal and was bolted to the floor and the rope tying him to it was coarse and strong.

Well I won't be able to break the chair or rope, but maybe I can slip my hands out if I rub the skin underneath until it bleeds.

The rope was coarse enough, his skin was already chafed from the little rubbing he had done. Tony began rubbing his wrists against the rope as quickly as he could since he didn't know when his captors would come and check on him or even if they knew he was awake yet.

"Come on, just a bit more." He muttered, hissing a bit in pain from his eroding skin.

Eventually blood started seeping out of the raw skin and Tony let it coat the rope and the rest of his wrist before trying to pull his hands out. It took a lot of twisting but his hands did escape their confines with a slippery pop.

Tony put his bleeding appendages up against his white shirt for a moment. Pepper had made him dress in a nice suit, dress shirt, and tie for the meeting. He had left his suit jacket in the car so his shirt would have to do for now.

Tony moved his hands down to his ankles and undid the intricate knots holding them in place. Once he made sure everything was untied Tony stood up, but he had forgotten about his head injury. The world swayed as Tony held onto the chair for support.

"Okay Tony, you've wasted enough time. You need to get a move on." Tony said to himself as the room finally righted itself around him and stopped moving.

Walking silently across the room and up the stairs Tony placed his ear up against the door and listened for any sound. He heard nothing and so Tony cracked the door open just enough for him to see out.

He was in a house and judging from the state of it and from what he could guess at the size, this house was not in the city. No, it was definitely from a less urban and more rural area.

Movement caught his eye and Tony saw a massive guy walk around in another room across from the door Tony was hiding behind.

That must be the guy who hit me on the head.

While the man was large, like two Thor's combined large, Tony would bet his house that the guy couldn't run very fast. He seemed top heavy and his legs were sticks compared to his upper body.

This guy must have no friends because friends don't let friends miss leg day at the gym, Tony thought humorously to himself before snapping back to the situation at hand.

If he could make a run for it and get outside Tony just might be able to get away or at least be able to hide somewhere nearby. Priority one was to get out fast, being followed by priority two: contact the team.

I wonder if they even know I am missing yet considering I don't even know how long I was out.

Stamping down on the worry concealed in the thought Tony took a deep breath and mentally prepared for his next move. Tony let go of the handle of the door and placed it flat against the door and pushed. As soon as the door was open enough for him to squeeze through Tony was out and running down the hall with hopes that it was the correct path to the door out.

Apparently he had chosen wrong because when Tony turned left into the only door at the end of the hall he entered into another room, but it did have a window. The loud footsteps of the big guy could be heard running towards the room.

It's now or never, Tony thought grimly as he ran and jumped out the window. His earlier assessment about the house was proven correct when he hit the ground only a few seconds after breaking through the glass.

His head was aching terribly now from all the activity but Tony ignored it and scrambled to his feet before taking off again. There was a huge forest over to the right side of the house and Tony was aimed straight for it. A loud curse rang out from the house.

The man who had been chasing him couldn't fit through the window out and was now having to run to the other side of the house to the door. Tony didn't have time to celebrate the small victory, however. Navigating through the dense forest while every time he moved the world spun was not an easy task. Tony felt like he was running in circles and almost collapsed in relief when he found a small cabin hidden well within the many trees.

I just need to rest for a sec and get my bearings back, Tony told himself. He jogged to the door and tested the handle to see if it was locked. Thankfully it wasn't and Tony opened it and walked in only to trip on something that was on the floor.

His whole body was subjected to gravity and Tony landed face forward on the wooden boards, hitting his head in the process. Before the world faded into darkness Tony felt himself breath in some kind of dust off the floor.

A loud blast of thunder and lightning is what woke Tony up from his forced slumber. He glanced around blearily before rolling over onto his back and sitting up. He was still pretty dizzy but it wasn't as bad as when he had first woken up in that basement.

Rain was pelting onto the roof of the cabin and it was extremely dark. Tony could just barely make out the shapes of the furniture in the small cabin when the lightning outside flashed. In all reality he had only been out for a couple of minutes, during his quick escape he neglected to notice the upcoming bad weather.

Enough rest, time to get a move on, Tony thought as he stood up. The dizziness followed him up but it soon passed. Glancing out the windows to see the rain and the storm that was currently raging overhead he felt slightly relieved.

"There is no way the guy who ate Thor twice is going to even be able to walk in this weather, he would probably sink in the mud. Definitely time to get a move on."

Even though he was sure that the guy wasn't anywhere near him, Tony still opened the door as slowly as he could and poked his head out before the rest of him went along. Tony ran out into the rain, hoping he wouldn't get struck by lightning because his arc reactor. The water landing on his wrists caused the raw skin to sting but at the moment it was a small inconvenience.

Due to the fact he had no clue where he was Tony just dashed in the general direction of "anywhere but that hell house", which he was fine with. Slipping in the mud several times and running into trees because of the nonexistent light delayed his trek but the adrenaline compensated.

The thunder got so loud that Tony couldn't hear his footsteps splashing in the mud, nor even his sigh of relief when he finally reached the edge of the forest. A meadow stretched out before him and right in the middle, about a football field away, sat the quinjet. They must have just landed because the doors swung open and Cap got out with Natasha. Thor must have been the one creating the storm, but it was forgotten as Tony made a mad frenzied dash towards them. He must have looked pretty bad because Steve had an alarmed expression on his face before recognition hit.

"Tony!" He shouted as he and Natasha ran to meet their teammate.

Tony didn't make it that far. His legs locked up on him and he fell to the ground. Nausea hit him suddenly and he couldn't stop the vomit from spewing out. His adrenaline must have been holding all of this off before because everything happened so quickly and all at once. Tony's muscles started contracting and spasms racked his body. Mud was getting all over him, and by the time Steve and Natasha arrived, Tony was frothing at the mouth and convulsing relentlessly.

For Tony it was all a blur. One minute he was running and then it all went black. He didn't feel Captain America lifting him and running back to the quinjet. He didn't experience the sensation of lifting off or the doctors on the helicarrier checking his stats and finding the traces of the white powder on his face and clothes.

Later when he woke up, Tony would learn that if they had been just minutes late on getting him to the helicarrier he would have died from asphyxiation due to his muscle spasms. He was lucky that his dose wasn't too large, otherwise time wouldn't have mattered at all. SHIELD had taken care of the men who did this to him, including Hammer.

It was finally over.

The team did joke that he needs to watch what substances he hangs around now days, it seems he has developed some sort of attraction to poison. If only they knew.

Please review and leave me poisons or other physiological issues that you would like Tony to experience.

Thanks!
