Chapter 2
Woof woof!
Tintin woke up to Snowy licking his face.
"Uuuhh," Tintin moaned as he attempted to sit up. He fell back down as it made him feel worse than he already was. There was a dull thumping noise in the back of his head, every thump bringing a fresh bolt of pain through his head.
He felt over his head feeling blood incrusted hair and a large egg shaped lump on the left side of the forehead, where the gun had hit him.
He opened his eyes and looked around and saw Thompson and Thomson walking around looking at the building. Currently the private detectives had been hired by the police to find the people responsible for burning the GCSB building; they were old friends of Tintin.
WEEEEOOOOWEEEEOOOO
The distant wail of an ambulance came to Tintin's ears. Obviously Thompson and Thomson had called an ambulance, thought Tintin. Thompson and Thomson now came over to Tintin as they to hear the sound of the ambulance.
"Tintin, you're awake," said Thompson
"To be precise you have awakened," responded Thomson
"We came here to do a bit of detective work early in the morning when we found you lying here on the driveway unconscious. At first we thought the worst but then we realised you were breathing, so we called an ambulance. You're lucky to be -" Thompson dropped off as he realised that Tintin had sunk into unconsciousness once again.
Thompson and Thomson supervised while the paramedics carefully loaded Tintin into the ambulance. The detectives then hopped onto the ambulance also and went to the hospital with Tintin.
"Can I see him and talk to him?"
"I'm sorry but only family are allowed."
"Blistering barnacles!" responded the Captain. "The boy has no family."
"OK then, if you insist, you can see him, but only for ten minutes," replied the receptionist.
"Where is he?"
"Ward two, room number three"
"Thanks"
The Captain climbed the stairs and went to the room the receptionist said Tintin was in.
He was going to walk straight in but he thought better of it, and knocked first.
The door opened and the nurse poked her face out.
"Hello, how can I help," She asked
"Can I come and talk to Tintin," the Captain responded.
"Um, sure he just woke up," the nurse replied as she ushered the Captain in. She then went off to another patient, giving Tintin and Haddock some privacy.
"Tintin my boy, how are you," asked the Captain noting the Tintin's pale face.
"All right, I've been better, but tell me, did Thompson and Thomson find the criminals?"
"Not so fast, tell me, what happened to you," asked the Captain.
So Tintin relay his story to the Captain, frequently butted in by the Captains many questions.
"Well I'd better leave now and you should rest, don't want to tire you too much."
"I'm not tired, in fact I want to leave with you and get to the bottom of this case"
"No, no, no, no you are staying right here till you've recovered" replied the captain. He could see the look of stubbornness on Tintin's face but he wasn't going to have Tintin get up and about before he should.
"C'mon Captain."
"No, you have to stay here at least one more day."
"Ok," Tintin replied in a resigned tone seeing that he wasn't going to get anywhere arguing with the Captain
