Hey! I had nothing better to do, so…. Here is the next chapter! Yaaay! I'm so excited!

… sorry…

*** Author update I have not looked at this in years, but I am working on revising the existing chapters and it is likely that I will post new content.

I woke up in Alfred's house twenty minutes later. Where was I? The throbbing in my head brought me to realize what had happened. I slowly got up and went searching for Alfred's phone. I found it lying on his nightstand and called Alfred's boss.

He answered almost immediately.

"Hello? Alfred?"

"N-no…" I said.

"Japan? Why do you have Alfred's phone and why are you calling me?" He yelled, "Where is Alfred?"

"I n-need help, sir…" I said, struggling to keep my voice in the calm, neutral tone that is usually so much easier to maintain, "Alfred-san's been t-taken…"

"What do you mean? Where are you? Japan?"

THUD

"Japan? Are you alright? Japan!"

I awoke to the door slamming open loudly. I heard footsteps and voices echoing around throughout the house. I felt a hand on my shoulder, rolling me onto my back. I put a hand in front of my face as the ceiling light shined into my eyes. Suddenly remembering what had happened, my muscles tensed and I forced my eyes open, ready to defend myself.

"Whoa, remain calm!" said a man who was wearing a thick vest with the letters S.W.A.T on in, "I'm a police officer, let me help you."

I recognized that he was one of Alfred's people and closed my eyes again, my head pounded and the light was too much for my eyes.

"Are you alright, sir?" He asked.

"Hai…" I sighed before opening my eyes once more and sitting up.

"You should stay down, sir. Wait for the paramedics." He said, trying to push me back down.

Recoiling from his touch, I slid backwards against the wall and used it to stand. Even though I trusted him, I never enjoy people touching me or telling me what to do. Anyway, I had to find Alfred.

Seeing the look in my eyes, the officer backed up.

"Whoa, what did I do? Mr. President!" A man who I recognized as Alfred's boss came up behind the officer, causing him to salute.

"Japan! He's just trying to help you." The president said, looking at me before turning to the officer, "He doesn't like to be touched. Have more respect for this man, go and get the paramedics, I have been told the house is clear."

"Sumimasen, Mr. President," I said, bowing. "Sumimasen. He took Alfred…"

"Can you tell me what happened, sir?"

"I was supposed to hang out with Alfred today. When I got here, the door was open and I walked in. I didn't think much of it because he likes to keep his door unlocked. Sometimes he even forgets to close it in his excitement. I walked in too late. Alfred was on the ground, he had cuts all over him and was hardly able to move. Ivan was standing over him. His pipe was dripping blood onto Alfred's face. Neither of them noticed me at first, but when they did, Ivan told me to run. He had that crazed look on his face, even more crazed than usual. I was frozen looking at Alfred on the ground. He knocked me out with his pipe. I woke up sometime after that and called you."

"This is not good… This is a national crisis! My officers are looking for clues around the house. I'll keep you updated, but for now, get yourself looked after by the paramedic. You should also call your own boss."

"Yes, sir. When will we start looking for him?"

"Leave that up to me and the United States government. Like I said, I'll keep you updated."

He turned and began speaking to a group of officers. I shook my head, of course he would want to keep me out of the investigation. My presence could cause an international crisis, especially considering Ivan's involvement. I will probably have more luck finding Alfred on my own anyway.

Seeing the paramedics enter the house, I slid down the wall that had been supporting my efforts to stand. They rushed over and started to check me over. I let them work on me, all the while focusing on coming up with a plan.

It had been 10 minutes since Alfred's boss showed up at his house. My head was still sore, but I felt a little better and had washed all the blood out of my hair and changed into a white collared shirt and plain black slacks that I had previously forgotten in Alfred's room. I found them in a wrinkled pile on Alfred's dresser, but he must have washed them because they smelled clean and there was a dryer sheet in the sleeve of my shirt.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and speed dialed my boss.

"Hello?" he answered in Japanese, "Japan?"

"Yes, sir" I replied back in Japanese, "I am going to have to be away for awhile."

"Oh? Has something happened? You have never been one to slack off from your work, even to spend time with America."

"No, something has happened. Russia has taken him."

"What? What do you mean?"

"I arrived at America's house and Russia was there. He knocked me out and when I woke up, they were both gone. He has him."

"Are you okay? Don't do anything rash. We'll find him."

"I will find him. I won't do anything rash, but I won't be back until he is."

"I would prefer if you come to Japa-"

Knowing I wouldn't convince him of anything, I hung up on him, turning to look for Alfred's boss to see if he found any clues.

After speaking with the president and finding that he had not found any clues as to why or where Ivan had taken Alfred, I returned to the entryway to grab my car keys and head out. As I reached for the doorknob, it turned and the door was pushed open by two familiar faces.

"Kiku? What's going on?" Arthur gasped, looking at the streaks of blood on the ground and walls.

"Where is Amerique? Why is there blood everywhere?" Francis questioned, noticing the bandages wrapped around my head that had begun to show red, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Alfred's gone. Ivan took him out of here after beating him to the ground and knocking me unconscious. Why are you here?"

"We were in town for vacation. We wanted to surprise Alfred by visiting him and asking him where we should go to dinner tonight. You know the git just loves to brag about himself and his food." England said.

"Wait! What do you mean Ivan's taken Amerique? Non! I can't believe this! You said he was beaten to the ground?" France said.

"Yeah. His boss is looking around the house for clues, but there is nothing here. I'm leaving to go to Russia now. I'm sure I can figure this out if I storm Ivan's house."

"Whoa, whoa. Steady on Kiku. As much as I want to find Alfred as fast as possible, charging Ivan head on right out an attack plan will leave us bloody vulnerable. Honestly, I would to find the git and punch him in the bloody nose if I thought it would do Alfred any good, but I know it wouldn't."

"Oui! Let us meet and think of a plan! There is always strength in numbers and in knowledge. I want to find Alfred so I can take him in my arms again, but if we act rashly we could make things worse!"

"But, I- We must-" I said before getting cut off.

"Let's call a meeting. Every nation will be called on to be there. Ivan's actions are way out of line. Especially during a time of bloody peace! They will come and we will figure out what to do. Kiku, let's head to the hotel and start making phone calls."

Arthur moved behind me and lightly pushed me towards the door to the house and out onto the front porch. Make phone calls? Have a meeting? None of this is going to help anything. We must get him back! We must get him back!

We must get him back!
