Okay, here is chapter two at long last! I got too busy with school and other stuff to write consistently. please check my updated profile for more info: u/4629956/ I decided that y'all have waited long enough, so I power wrote most of this tonight after a jazz band performance.
Mom made sure I'm ready for a long day and packed everything into the car. All set! As the three of us cruise down the highway, my mind begins to wander. I think about how much I need to prove to my parents to go on a journey in two years. I think about what Pokémon I'm going to catch someday, just like the trainers on TV. But most of all, I think about Ralts—I haven't stopped thinking about the Feeling Pokémon since that fateful encounter.
I know that it was not by chance that we met that day, it must be fate. The way we played all day and the way that Ralts wanted to stay with me just a little longer. Ok, maybe more than a little. I would be a lying fool to say that I wouldn't give up anything to be with Ralt. We… "Hey, Jake! Wake up, we're here!" interrupts my father. Too excited to finish my thought or wait for my parents, I open the back door and dash for the rock at the edge of the woods where I last saw Ralts. As I approach, I look around anxiously for my friend—nowhere in sight. I then gently lay my hand on the spot where Ralts was standing as I left last time, thinking of Ralts and mentally calling for her. She must have heard me, for at the moment my hand makes contact with the rock, I feel it. The same beckoning as when I left one year ago.
As I pull my hand away, the feeling goes away, so I quickly decide to keep my hand in place and keep that feeling present. It's almost like I can feel her longing for me in the distance. Or maybe it's a feeling of the past returning to me. The memories flooding back all at once.
All of a sudden, I feel a spike in the emotions from the memory. A sort of jolt, like my brain was harmlessly electrocuted. I turn around to see if maybe I was hit in the head, but instead I found a Ralts lunging at me. As she hits me, I am knocked into the rock behind me, but I don't care. All I can think about is the Pokémon giving my neck a bear hug! I finally get to play with Ralts once more.
I pulled the joyous Pokémon from my body and set it down on the rock, which caused a look of worry to appear on its face. I reassured her that I was staying by touching her sensory horn, just like our first encounter. This made her screech her species name happily! I hugged the tiny Pokémon (Ralts is 14.6 pounds and 1'4" tall) and together we cried tears of joy. As Ralts shifted in my embrace, he sensory horn came to rest on my face. This connected our emotions and I instantly felt my joy multiplied by her joy and hugged her even tighter.
"Hey, Ralts, wanna go walk on water again?" I asked, to which she nodded eagerly as she wiped the remaining tears from her face. I then ran, with Ralts in my little 8 year old arms, and tossed Ralts into the ocean. Not very far, of course, I can't. We ended up in another splash fight that caught my parents' attention. As they approached, Ralts froze and clung to my arm. "We finished unloading the car, Jake. Is this the same Ralts you were playing with last year?" my mom called. I waded out of the ocean and approached my parents, every step frightening the poor Ralts every step.
"Yeah, it sure is, mom!"
"I'm surprised you were able to find the same one two years in a row," chimed dad.
"Can Ralts have lunch with us? PLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEEEE!" I begged. My parents chuckled at this.
"Of course it can!" they said in unison.
"If you're bringing it home, it might as well get used to eating with us, silly," said mom.
[Ralts' POV]
That got Ralts' attention. She heard the words 'take it home' and became intrigued. Excited at the possibility of staying by Jake's side. Her thinking was interrupted by a strong psychic voice. Her mother. She was out searching for Ralts, calling out to her to return home. Ralts couldn't ignore the voice, she held her mother in high respect and didn't want her to be worried. Ralts sent a reassuring psychic pulse to her mother, hoping to calm her down. But she still had to go. Now.
Ralts tugged at Jakes arm until he let her down. When free, she held her hand towards Jake and waved her arm in a 'follow me' motion. Jake got the picture, but was obviously confused. He told his parents that he thought something was wrong with Ralts and would return for lunch in a couple hours. Then he followed Ralts into the trees.
I think that's enough for this chapter, more should be coming soon if I keep up with homework
Again, I'm terribly sorry about the 6 and a half month wait! It's high school. You know how it is.
