I apologize for any mistakes!

"No need to worry, Kate, they're just Braxton Hicks contractions. Take it easy for the next few days and get plenty of rest."

Kate lets out a heavy sigh, looking up at me. She looks mildly annoyed but I'm sure being pregnant will do that to anyone.

"Daddy, mommy's tummy look weird," Lizzy whispers in my ear and I bite my cheek to hold in my grin.

"Thanks, doc," Kate rolls her eyes and sits up, wiping off her stomach.

At thirty-seven weeks pregnant, she's completely done with being pregnant. Her feet are swollen to the point she can't wear regular shoes, her sleep pattern is entirely fucked from her back pain, and the heartburn is far worse than what she had with Lizzy. I don't at all blame her for her permanent state of irritation though any attempts to soothe her end in the beast coming out.

"Aunt Rosie gave me chocolate!" Killian gives me a mischievous smile as he snacks on the snickers bar.

I try to be angry but he's just so friggen cute can't help but smile.

"Just don't ruin your lunch, Captain," I wink and he nods violently before running off.

Rosalie is in the garage cleaning her tools and when she looks up, she's got that same evil grin Killian has. Of course, he got that from her and she won't deny it. She's proud that he's got her little danger streak. It's absolutely frustrating.

"You gave him chocolate, huh?" I lean against the door and she ignores my mom look.

"He was hungry. What kind of aunt would I be if I didn't give the little pirate a snack?" Her icy blue eyes are innocent but I know she's anything but.

"Stop spoiling my baby, please. He's going to get greedy." I climb onto the counter, sighing. "So how's your night going?"

She scoffs. "Horrible. I thought the point of moving was to get away from everything. Somehow, Royce got a hold of my brand new number. I've blocked him but he's getting creative."

"I can have Sam stop by his place if you want."

"Nah, I've got it handled. I just thought I was finally rid of him."

Royce is an absolute douche with the charm of a vampire. He's completely toxic but she hadn't realized that at first. She was eighteen and he was her first love. It wasn't until a year ago, when she was 21, that she finally realized how bad it was and left him at the alter. It was humiliating for him but a relief for everyone else. He's been stalking her ever since, trying to get her back, sending notes, threatening to kill her and himself.

She got a restraining order but that barely did anything.

So when I told her I was moving, she came without a second thought.

A fresh start for everyone.

We've been here for about a month and it's definitely different from Forks. Forks rarely sees any sun and it's a suffocating town. The moment I had an opportunity to take my family out of there, I snatched it up. Sam, my husband, is supposed to follow in a few months. He a teacher working at La Push and in his free time works with at risk youths. We decided the best course was for him to follow when the school year finishes for the summer.

The time apart is really what we were looking for so when he approached me about staying the whole year, I told him to go for it. It's been a rough few months leading up to the move and the less time we spent around each other, the less time Killian saw us fighting.

"So how are you and Sam?" Rosalie steers the conversation off of her, setting down her instruments.

"I'm too sober to even talk about that. Come on, lunch is almost ready!" I hop off the counter and head into the house.

Killian is watching Bugs Bunny cartoons, the snickers wrapper resting on his chest. I sneak over to him and tickle him, earning me loud squeals and protests.

"Mommy!"

"Come on, my little Captain. Dinner's ready," I sweep him up in my arms and the top of curly head.

He's got my mess of curls and Sam's dark eyes with his complexion. He's the cutest kid if I do say so myself. He was born right after I'd turned seventeen and even though it was completely unexpected, I absolutely loved my baby. Rosalie was my supporter from the beginning and it took months but she got my parents on board with the idea that I was going to have a baby with or without their support.

No one was happy about the name, though. I was eight months pregnant and binge-watching Once Upon A Time and as soon as saw Captain Hook, aka, Killian Jones, I fell in love with the name. Sam didn't fight me on it surprisingly but I guess it was because I had hated every name we thought of. He started to like the name eventually and when my little pirate came into this world, he stole our hearts.

"Where's Ruby?" Killian asks after lunch, crawling into my lap as I pause my show.

"She's probably hiding," I kiss his head as he settles on my legs.

Ruby is our Munchkin Cat. She's the tiniest thing and I found her cold and freezing months ago when a huge storm had hit Forks. We took her in, warmed her, fed her, and then eventually she just became ours.

A knock at the door draws my attention and I move a protesting Killian off my lap as I walk over to the door and open it.

Kate, my neighbor whose mailbox I ran over, is standing in front of me. She looks absolutely tired and annoyed.

"Sorry to bother but I was wondering if Lizzie could have a playdate with your son? She's been begging me for weeks since she saw him," she explains and I look down at Lizzie who's giving me a hopeful smile.

She's got her mom's reddish curls and bright green eyes and she looks absolutely adorable.

"I don't see a problem with that. Killian would love a playdate," I wink and she giggles.

"Thanks," Kate gives me a slight grin. "She's been running me ragged all day. Here's her bag. I'll be by to pick her up around seven?"

"Sure! Sounds good," I take the bag and bend down, looking at Lizzie.

"Hey, pretty lady. What do you say to some lunch?"

She nods enthusiastically as Kate kisses her head and leaves.

I lead her inside and shut the door where Killian is waiting around the corner. As soon as Lizzie sees him she bolts toward him on her short legs and throws her arms around him.

"I'm Lizzie," she giggles in her tiny voice.

Killian looks a bit spooked but hugs her back, "I'm Killian."

"This. Hurts. Like. A. MOTHERFUCKER!"

Kate has been in labor for about ten hours now and has just been given the clear to push. She's got a grip on my hand so tight I'm a little worried she might break it but I ignore it.

"You can do this baby," I kiss her head and she lets out a scream as she pushes, her face going red.

"Get!" Push. "This!" Push. "Thing!" Push. "Out!" Push. "Of!" Push. "ME!"

PUSH.

A loud cry fills the air and Kate collapses back on the bed, breathing hard. Her eyes are tired and she's covered in sweat, her grip on my hand loosening.

"You did so good, love. We have a son," I whisper, kissing her gently.

When our baby is clean and checked, he's in Kate's arms. He's a tiny little thing, just a little smaller than Lizzie was, and he's got a tuft of dark hair on his head. He's absolutely perfect.

My son.

"I need sleep," Kate mutters, handing me the baby.

I take him in my arms, cooing softly. At work, I'm the boss. The hardass. But right now I'm a fucking pile of goo. I helped create him and now, after nine long, strenuous months, he's out in the world.

"Have you decided on a name?" Kate looks up at me, almost asleep.

She let me pick the names since it was too stressful for her to decide.

I smile, kissing my son's head.

"Elijah Masen."

"Elijah Masen."
