Prologue

I could feel my consciousness fading as breathing became more and more difficult. Am I really going to die like this...? I had always to die a hero, and I guess I was? I had to stop Samuel from the mass murder, but I just wasn't quick enough, and found myself enclosed in stone. I closed my eyes and began to reflect on my life; I had lived more adventures than anyone I've met, forging bonds with people I wouldn't trade for anything. If I had one regret, it would be not being able to return to Storybrooke and see my family again, now that the curse as ended. My head felt heavy, my forehead scrapped against the stone encasing my head, as I became too weak to hold it up. I'm sorry, I just can't stay awake... I could feel it, I was actually dying; I felt like I was floating. In the distance I heard voices calling my name, the unsavory sound of something cracking, and then silence, but why?
