Chapter 02:
❝ I Don't Need Him Here ❞
8:38 AM, Thursday
April 14, 2016
Paris, France
Narrator's POV
Lucy opened her eyes, adjusting the light that flickered above her. What happened before she collapsed is in her mind after taking a minute to adjust herself. "Bullshit," she cursed as she saw a vision of his fiancé kissing another girl. Yes, she saw him french kissing a girl whom she's yet to know before collapsing and ending up in this place. "Bastard, asshole," she continued to cuss, gaining the attention of the doctor who's silent ever since she woke up that's why she didn't know that she's not alone right now.
"Didn't your parents told you about not cussing?" Her doctor asked, even though she knew whose voice it is, she didn't care. In fact, she didn't care about anything right now but that bastard of a fiancé she has. Cheating bastard, she thought to herself as she let out a sob that only she can hear. "If I were you, I'll calm down for a moment and hear out the results first."
Lucy gritted her teeth took the advice to calm down. He's a doctor after all, and she's just his patient right now so of course she needed to follow. A doctor wouldn't do anything to harm one of his patients, right? "Why am I here anyway?" She gloomily asked.
"Erza brought you here yesterday," he answered.
"Why are you even here? The last time I check, you are too busy being a brat!" She frustratedly told him. "Why do I have to end up with a doctor like you?" She complained, bitterness lingering around her voice as she tried to forget what happened. "What time is it?"
He shrugged, "mom forced me to work here- my family's friend, Makarov, owns it anyway." Then he looked down his watch and answered the latter question, "8:41 AM, you've been out since yesterday," he heaved a frustrated sigh. "Well then, for the results... you seem to stressed yourself so much that you collapsed. You're lucky if I must say, you collapsed in front of the hospital. I can't help but to think that it's planned?"
"Stop being an ass," she groaned. "You're the last person I wanted to see right now. I guess I'm just lucky," she said, her voice full of pure sarcasm.
Natsu couldn't help but roll his own eyes. "I think you're alright now since you have the energy to throw insults at your own doctor."
"Did I hurt you?" She asked in a sweet tone and both of them know that it's an act. Of course, the only feeling they have for each other are hate, dislike and negative feelings.
"Why, are you afraid that you hurt my feelings?" He asked back, a smirk on his face as he played along.
Lucy heaved a sigh and shrugged. "Are you flirting with your own sick patient, doctor? Because it's seriously disgusting." She rolled her eyes and was about to ask for the bill when her hospital room door opened, revealing her three best friends. "Hey guys, thank God you're here! If you didn't come, I might have killed the arrogant prick in front of me right now."
"Well not unless I kill you first," Natsu retorted. "If you'll excuse me," he tried acting polite as he got out of her hospital room leaving the four best friends alone.
Levy heaved a relived sigh and hugged Lucy, "we were really worried, Lucy! We came here yesterday after Erza mailed us and you weren't awake."
Juvia was next to hug her, "Juvia thought you're in a coma because you would not wake up. But Juvia thanks the highest God for bringing you back to life," she giggled at her last statement.
Erza hugged her as well, "you know how terrified I am yesterday. I continued to scream for help, thankfully a doctor helped me. Well, if you're thinking it's Natsu, be relieved because it's another one."
"Good," Lucy said with a thumbs up. She really hates Natsu after all, and would never ever like even one bit of him. Never.
"What happened yesterday Lucy? You seemed fine to me," Erza asked. Her voice full of worry. "And why did you call Sting?" Lucy flinched upon hearing her cheating fiancé, Erza noticed Lucy and took a hint.
Levy widened her eyes a little after hearing Sting's name, completely unaware of what happened yesterday. "Oh yeah, I called him yesterday. He still didn't visit you? What is that guy doing? Still busy with his blooming acting career?" She started to search for her phone in order to mail Sting again.
Juvia and Erza exchanged a look before looking at how pained Lucy's expression is. True, because Lucy couldn't help but remorse about what happened yesterday. She flinched again after remembering the kiss the girl and her cheating fiancé had. She noticed Levy mailing someone and she knew it's Sting who she's about to mail. "I don't need him here," she bitterly said.
Levy looked confused at how her best friend is acting there, Juvia and Erza knew what exactly happened taking a hint at how pained and why is Lucy acting like that. "Oh my God, don't tell me that's the reason why you collapsed?!" Levy asked, shock filled her voice after realizing the silence.
Lucy bit her lip and whimpered. "I-I saw him... he's-he's kissing a girl in the middle of the street! H-how could he do t-that?! For fuck's sake they're in public! How d-dare him," she cried and continued to sob as her friends comforted her.
"He's going to pay," deadly aura surrounded the three girls as they gritted their teeth. Completely shocked by the revelation their best friend revealed, but mostly their hatred to Sting is overwhelming. They sure as hell will make him pay big time, oh he'll surely experience hell later on. "Shh Lucy, it's going to be alright."
"H-how? Wh-why?" She continued to cry between her palms. "I did nothing but b-be loyal to h-him and t-this?! He ch-cheated on me?!" She let out all the tears her pain gave her, of course they've been together for years and now she's not sure whether he truly loved her or not.
The door opened, revealing two raven-haired men and a blue haired guy with an interesting tattoo on his face. Before they can ask what happened, Juvia stood up and lead them outside so she could explain it to them. She didn't want Lucy to go through another trouble of explaining the most dreadful scene that she saw.
"What happened?" Gray asked his wife, noticing that tears are formed beside her blue eyes. "Why are you crying, Juv?"
Gajeel was next to question, "did something bad happen to Lucy? Why is she crying? Levy and Erza are crying too, but Lucy's crying the most." He pointed out the obvious.
Jellal rose an eyebrow in amusement, seeing Erza cry is one hell of a moment and he knew that she doesn't cry unless something really bad happened. And that's what's making him worry. "Tell us, Lucy's our friend too."
Juvia bit her lip, she didn't know whether to tell them or not. Knowing them, they'll surely beat the crap out of Sting once they knew that he cheated on their dear friend. But still, like what Jellal said, Lucy's also their friend and they deserves to know. "Lucy found out Sting is cheating on her that's why she collapsed yesterday."
The trio widened their eyes, they didn't know what to think. Whether to comfort Lucy first or kill the cheating bastard who dared to lay a finger to another girl besides his fiancé. Well, because of the circumstances, chances are Lucy will call off their engagement. "Damn bastard, here I thought he's someone reliable! Trustworthy, even."
"I'm going to kill him," Jellal gritted his teeth. Of course, he treats Lucy as his little sister. Well, not only him but Gray and Gajeel as well who are fond of Lucy. For Lucy, these three boys are her older brothers.
Gajeel furrowed his eyebrows, "what is he thinking?! How did he manage to do that, didn't he have a heart?! He's engaged to someone and he cheated, my God! So that's why he couldn't properly make wedding plans!"
Juvia heaved a stressed sigh, "Juvia will kill him. Juvia doesn't care if she goes to jail because of this, no one messes with her best friend without getting away from it."
The three boys noticed the deadly aura that engulfed her, the sweet girl suddenly reverted into a deadly lady. Almost like a yandere, but not really. Gray hugged his wife, it's the only way he knows to calm her down. "Juvia, we have children and you don't want them growing up with only a dad, right? So calm down and let's settle with that bastard into something less violent."
"But he hurt Lucy!" Juvia whined, of course she once treated Lucy as a love rival when she thought she's in love with Gray but after they cleared things up, Gray is, after all, in love with her and not Lucy. And that's the start of their life-long friendship together with Erza, Levy and the others. "He deserves to die, love. He deserves to die."
"I solemnly agree to her," Gajeel glared at the nothingness.
Jellal smirked, "should we kill him secretly then?"
"Who are you going to secretly kill?" They turned around to see the pink-haired doctor who, as well, is a best friend of the three boys. Yes, rivalries are formed between the four but that doesn't mean they're not the best of friends. But now that they're grown adults, they set aside their rivalries and started to hang out without exactly fighting nonsense things. With the delight of Erza of course, who's always the one to stop them from fighting. "Well whoever that is, make sure that I'll be their doctor so I can earn more money."
Gray rolled his eyes, "what kind of doctor are you?" Natsu simply smirked at his friend. Gray heaved a sigh, "so I guess you're here to tell Lucy her bills?"
"Yep," Natsu answered. "What's with the deadly aura guys? Something happened?" He shrugged, "well whatever. You three have duties today too so better come by later. Anyway... Can I come inside her room? I need to immediately give this to her."
"We'll pay for it," Gray said that made Juvia smile. "She's not in the condition to deal with the payments as well as her worst enemy you know."
Natsu couldn't help but chuckle, "old habits die hard, dude. Get used to our fighting." He shoved him the receipt and continued, "you know where to pay. Well, I have other patients, so see ya guys later."
"Busy guy as always," Gajeel rolled his eyes.
Juvia sweetly smiled at Gray and planted a soft kiss on her husband's cheek. "Thanks sweetheart, I'm sure Lucy will appreciate it."
Gray looked away, trying to hide his flushed cheeks. "A-anyway, let's get inside?"
Jellal let out a chuckle, "are you embarrassed?"
Gajeel joined, "what a tsundere." He shrugged and they went inside, seeing a sleeping Lucy with fresh tears formed around her cheeks and Levy and Erza who's aura is completely deathly. And by deathly, it means deathly deathly. To normal people, they dare not to talk to them until they calm down. But to their husband and boyfriend, of course they knew how to exactly calm them down.
Jellal kissed Erza on her forehead and Gajeel pecked his wife's lips. "You know that I'm still not calm, right?" Erza asked, glaring into space. "I'm going to kill that bastard, Jellal. I'm serious."
"Is it okay if we help you, then?" He asked, amused and at the same time, sad for Lucy.
Levy face-palmed herself as she shook her head. "If only Lucy doesn't love him, I'm sure she'll let us. God, if only killing is legal I would have killed him exactly the moment Lucy told it to us."
"Sadly it's illegal," Gajeel pointed out and sat next to his wife. "So calm down, we really should help Lucy to get through this dreadful battle going on in her life right now."
"First we should know what Lucy feels for him right now," Levy said and continued. "And we all know that she still loves him even after she knew that he cheated on her."
Juvia shook her head, "no one can move on that fast especially after spending years with the guy." She gritted her teeth, "but Juvia hates the idea of letting him talk to Lucy again."
Gajeel stated, "we do, too."
"Let's ask Lucy about her decision first then let's decide for what we should do next," Erza said, like a leader in her past years again. "For now, let her stay here to rest. I'll tell Makarov-san about her condition, I know for sure he won't complain."
"We should get to jobs too, we can't skip." Gray said, as much as he wants for all of them to stay with Lucy until she wakes up, they had their jobs too and skipping it will surely lose wage. But then again, their friend is more important.
"Right," Juvia groaned in frustration. "What if that bastard came here while we're out?"
"Well I'm free right now," Erza told them. "You can go with your jobs, just be sure to visit us later. I can handle Sting if he ever decided to show his bastard self up."
"You sure?" Jellal asked, he knew Erza can handle tough guys. But he's his girlfriend, and the fact that she might end up punching the bastard's guts will surely cause trouble for her.
Erza smiled at him, "don't worry about me. Now go, before you guys get late. Lucy will be fine, okay? I won't let that guy lay a finger on her, even her hair."
"We're doctors here too so we'll come to visit when we're free," Jellal reminded her.
The group nodded and said their goodbyes to Erza and silently prayed for Lucy's sake as well. While Erza sat there, sadly looking at her friend's pained expression whilst sleeping. Probably having a nightmare about what happened but of course, she's not sure of it.
🌴 Vacation 🌴
Hours had passed, Lucy managed to sleep peacefully unlike earlier that she's also crying herself even while sleeping. Well now that she seems to sleep well, Erza finally let out a relieved sigh to. She was reading a magazine when a knock was heard from the other side of the door.
Not entirely sure whether she'll open it or not, she decided to open hoping that it's one of their friends. Sadly, destiny disagrees with her and the person in front of her is the least person either of them wanted to see. "Erza-san, I came here as soon as I received the message from Levy-san."
The nerve, she thought to herself. She wanted to punch him square to the face but it would be no fun. She decided to play along. She grimly smiled at Sting, "come in. Your fiancé is resting though." She made sure she emphasized the word fiancé so it can get through his head that he already has a fiancé and that he did not need to cheat. Sadly, he lost the trust of everyone specially Lucy's.
Just like what Erza said, Sting came in with no hesitation. Not one bit of a look of guilt, if she must say. "So Sting, why did you decide to show yourself at this time of the day? Shouldn't you have showed up yesterday after Levy mailed you or even so, earlier than we visited her today?" She pried in, looking as innocent as ever to keep him from suspecting something. "Hey, is that alcohol that I smell?"
Sting looked confused for a moment but managed to smile nonetheless. Much to Erza's annoyance. "After Lucy ditched our date last night, I stayed over at my friend's house and we drunk our hearts out. Well, of course I know Lucy would not ditch me without a reason so when I came to check to her house, no one's home and I came back to my house later this morning and found out about it. Well, I left my phone in my house, that's why."
Erza couldn't take it anymore. She snapped and gritted her teeth, "you know Eucliffe. You should be a writer rather than an actor. Your stories are really believable."
Erza didn't fail to notice how stiff he became. That's what it confirmed, he really cheated on Lucy and now he's lying to her friend. "What are you talking about?"
"It's funny to listen to a story when you exactly know what happened," she told him. Eyes fixed on his, slowly engulfing him with deathly aura. "Leave before I call a security. I don't want Lucy to wake up seeing you here, she wouldn't take it so lightly."
"You don't tell me what to do, Scarlet. Lucy loves me and I know she would not let me go that easily," he glared with all his might. "Why don't I stay here and let my fiancé decide, hm?"
"It's ex-fiancé," they turned their heads to blond girl. Erza grinned, Sting frowned and Lucy looked at Sting. Her brown eyes are filled with different kinds of emotions, mostly hatred and grief. The man whom she looked with too much love, now she's able to look at with too much hate. But she knew that deep inside, that there's no doubting it that she still loves him. "Get out, I don't want you here."
"You heard her," Erza smirked at the dismayed Sting.
Sting stated, "let me explain, baby. You know how much I love you, right? That's why I asked you for marriage? Please let me explain."
Lucy tried her best to stay calm but she exploded even before she can. "Love?! You only love yourself, you bloody prick! You proposed to me over a year ago, and here I am in the hospital, admitted because of seeing you french kissing with another woman! How dare you, Sting Eucliffe!"
He look abashed, "Lucy let's talk about this, okay? I love you and you love me too, so hear me out babe. Please."
Lucy looked down and Erza took it a hint that she's having second thoughts. She didn't wan to pry in though, she knows that it's her battle right now. Lucy looked up to meet Sting's eyes, her eyes filled with tears. She took the ring off that Sting used to propose and threw it to him. "Why don't you give that to your other girlfriend?! And act like you never hurt someone?! That's what you're good at, after all! I don't care about you anymore so go out! Now!"
"Lucy-"
Erza decided to take a step forward, she knew her friend had enough. "You heard her bastard," she said and threw Sting out the door. She looked over at Lucy and felt sorry for her friend. Lucy just woke up and again, she's crying her eyes out. "I'm so sorry Lucy, I shouldn't have let him in. It's my fault."
"Don't worry about it Erza," Lucy still managed to crack a smile despite the pain she's currently having. "Because of what you did, I manage to let out half the pain and I threw the ring to him. Heh, after this I swear I'll never cry again. Never..."
Erza frowned and hugged her, "don't worry. We'll be here for you, okay?"
"Thanks," she said and continued to cry. Thinking, how dare him? Oh hell, I'll make sure to get revenge to him. Throwing his pathetic ring to his face is not enough, I'll make sure he'll regret cheating on Lucy Heartfilia.
A little rant here before proceeding to read the sneak peak:
Okay, first of all I do NOT hate Sting. The only reason why I made him a 'Cheating Bastard' in this fan fiction is because there is no one more suitable than him for me. I mean, I can't put Gray in his place because I love GrUvia, nor can I put Laxus because I have a better role for him in this fan fiction. Well, I just really don't know who else to put so I decided that the role kind of suited him. And I don't really feel comfortable in making an OC because it's troublesome, LOL.
But please don't hate me for giving him that role. Well, that's all! ^^
❀ Sneak Peak for Vacation's Chapter 03 ❀
Gajeel shrugged at the two of them and turned to Jellal. "Did you talk to Erza about something? Like a plan or whatever? Levy's been going on and on about it and it's totally annoying. She would not even tell me!" He whined. This amused Jellal, seeing his friend whine is something you don't see everyday.
"That's why I called the three of you here," Jellal smirked, and that smirk says something that he knows something they don't.
Final Word Count: 3717
