Present day

PR: Peeta! have you seen snoodle any where?!

P: no Prim I haven't, did he run off again?

PR: yeah, ill go find him.

Prim put on her coat and went outside. the world around her was like she always knew it to be. people walking to and fro, living normal lives in a big city. The Capital of the great Country of Panem. she had lied to Peeta about snoodle. he was hiding up in her room. she just wanted an excuse not to go to school and see Haymitch in the capital building. the biggest most powerful building in the Capital. where all the important people worked. she lived close since her mother was basically the figure head of Panem. plus her father was the head of construction. he was off in district 12 and her mother was in the Capital Building. she walked in casually as no one stopped her. she wore the pin. only the most powerful had that pin. Her mother had given Prim her own pin as a baby. she wandered the halls till she found the bar, where Haymitch was sure to be found.

PR: hi Haymitch

H: hey kiddo, come sit, wanna drink?

PR: I'm okay. whats my mom up to?

H: oh she's just organizing the finish of District 12 and the start of 13.

he looked down at the pin stuck on her shirt. the original pin that started it all. he looked down at his look alike pin. she stood up and waked off, smiling back at him. she walked through the Capital Building, her dark brown wavy hair blowing behind her. she stood tall and proud. no fear ever struck her. she was always rave and tough. throughout school she learned about the history of Panem and of course Hunger Games. but unlike the rest of her students who thanked the lord they did not have to suffer through that, she wished and begged her mom to start it again. but of course, she was declined. Prim had been raised Atheist her whole life as Katniss and Gale had become. they belived if there was any upper power, they wouldn't have let snow be born or come into power. never the less she still wanted this to happen. she spotted Frankie, a guard who she had gotten very fond of. he was only ten years older then her and would joke with her. he wouldn't tell anyone she didn't belong there.

PR: hi Frankie

F: hey Kitten

for some reason he called her kitten, she has no idea why but it doesn't bother her he does.

PR: any new big things I should know about?

even though he was a guard, he mostly guarded the press room where the officials had meetings, so he overheard many things.

F: no not yet, I'm heading there now. your moms into her office if you wanna say hi

PR: she'll kill me cause im not in school

F: ya know you should be in school

PR: yeah I know bu-

K: Prim?

PR: ugh oh no

K; you should be in school, Frankie do me a favor and drive her there.

PR: I can walk

K: last time you said that, you never went to school. you almost got in a train to go see your father

PR: but but...okay fine

Frankie led her out to his car and drove her to school

PR: ugh bye

F: have fun

PR: whatever

she walked in just in time for history class. Mrs. Trinket looked at Prim in disgust. she never liked Prim, even though she loved her mom. Prim was strong and confident like her mom but maybe too much. she sat in her desk, waiting for her to start teaching.

MRS.T: well, glad you could join us Mrs. Hawthorne, where have you been?

PR: its no concern to you

MRS.t: yes but I could tell you mother

just then the symbol on Prim's shirt flashed in her eyes, reminding her even though Prim was just a child, she had more power. the Mockingjay had become more of a power holder then a symbol for hope. it was claimed the shinnier it was, the more power you had but Prim knew it was just a myth. Proudly she wore it everyday to awed over it and some questioned how she had it. she told them that since he rmom was the figure head, she also got one but she knew the real reason. all the pins the officials had were engraved in the back with a certain serial number to identify their postion in power and where they could or could not go. also so no fakes are running around in the Capital building. sine her's had no number, if any one found out she could be easily arrested for trespassing. if you were a legal visitor you had to be restricted to a certain area and couldn't be in the building for more then 4 hours a day. and could not come for more then three days a week. Prim was very interested in one sector of the Capital Building which was heavily guarded. many areas had guards but she had mande friends with every guard and most let her in. except these guys. though she begged and pleaded they apologized amd said she couldn't go in. when she asked why, they responded ask your mother. but Prim never gave up and occasionally got in trouble for trying to sneak in. after school she walked home only to be stopped by John Mellark. yes, Peeta and Johanna's son. prim never understood marrying a man younger but sometime she did when she talked to John. he was 3 years younger but adorable. yeah 13 might sound too young but she didn't care but being her self,s he never actually discussed her true feelings with anyone.

J: heyo Prim

PR: hi John, how are you?

J: good

once again he studied her pin. he did that every day and never said why. she just ignored it and scuffled her feet on the ground as she headed home.

J: how is your cat?

PR: snoodle? he's okay. look id better get going, see ya John

J: bye Prim

he walked off, leaving her alone. when she got home, the house was empty. except for the cat. she went to her room and pulled out her suitcase. she filled it with clothes and packed it up.

PR: come one snoodle

he followed behind her down the street. the sun set behind her as she went to the train station. as she got on the train to District 13, her father was getting off the one from District 12. Many people were going to 13. isn't it not rebuilt. why were so many going?

(now I know that peeta and Katniss end up together this is a what if situation so don't kill me. I totally ship Katniss and Peeta)
