Chapter 2: Settle
The XMen all chose that moment to walk and stagger into the welcoming large office of Professor Xavier's. They all looked like they just came from war with their dusty combat suits on and hair all matted. "Listen to Gumbo! For once he spittin words instead of that bayou crap."
Nicole looked at the group of new comers taking in their appearance and dynamics. She would be lying if she didn't find any of this disturbing. The group looked ready for combat while others looked as if they needed a break from it. She had met the stunning bronze woman known as Ororo before during her initial interest in the school. Her mother was greatly put at ease by the calm demeanor of the woman who now strolled in wearing a white suit and cape with silver and gold accents. Her features had shocked the pair the most but her disposition and warm persona completely rid them of their fears. Standing to her side was the gruff looking man wearing black leather and yellow accent pieces with his hair spiked upwards on the side. His arms were crossed clearly looking at her like she was a problem that needed to be fixed or possibly pushed away. To his side was a woman with brown hair with a strip of white along the side of the front. She dressed in black and forest green uniform with gloves on her hand. Her sharp eyes glared at the Cajun who seemed completely uninterested and unbothered by the woman sitting across from her leaning against the wall shuffling a deck of cards that he took out of somewhere in his beige duster. His eyes were as shockingly brown-reddish colored as his hair. They were pools of black holding red garnets in the centers set upon her with a mischievous twinkle to them. Her eyes trailed slowly out of his gaze to look at the man with sunglasses covering his eyes wearing a black leather suit looking at the professor as if he was a solider expecting orders from his chief.
"Everyone calm down, the Professor called us here because he needed our presence." Guided Ororo, as she shut the door tightly, sealing them inside of the professor's office.
The large group stopped to acknowledge the four other people in the room; more predominantly the new unfamiliar face.
"Everyone I would like for you to meet our new student, Nicole. This…my dear is Scott, Logan, Rogue, and Remy. Of course you remember Ororo."He guided with his hand introducing her to faces she had seen the media before her eyes came into contact with blue stormy ones.
"Pleasure to meet you all." She voiced not quite catching why she was gathered in a room with so many people. They seemed to eye her with an equal amount of curiosity that didn't go unnoticed to her.
"Nice to meet yah, hun!" Rogue greeted and shook her hand followed by Scott and Logan. Well it iz ze pleasure to meet you Mon ami!" The one known as Remy came and grabbed her hand and held it before letting go.
"Nice moves man!" Jean said full of sarcasm before crossing her arms disapprovingly below her chest. Her red hair shined brightly among the sunlight flowing into the large bay windows of his office.
"Well I ha' ta lay o' de charm sum way now." Stated the Cajun man in response to her jab. "Iz dis here malady sum acquaintance ta Chantel?"
"Yes, this is one her best friend." The Professor provided watching the stiffness leave the bodies of some of the crew members. "We spoke about her arrival remember?" He pressed crossing his fingers in front of him as the lightbulbs went on and everyone was on the same page. He called out to her friend who entered immediately having not gone far it seemed from the door. Chantel came in just as quickly and shut the door behind her.
"Oui, Oui! She is as lovely as yo' expressed an den some." Remy said as he laid it on thick while being cautious of the intelligent light of caution in her eyes. As a group, they had spoken earlier in time about her arrival and her possible position among them.
"Cut it out swamp rat! Ya just met her. Give da girl some air." Rogue said as she leaned on Logan's shoulder while glaring daggers at the Cajun man.
"Well Nicole without further interruption, this is just a few of the Xmen members in which you have admitted you have seen in the past on the news. I wanted you to meet them and hopefully speak with them about their experiences about their particular line of duty. After you are trained and can successfully pass the benchmark exams for control, you will be offered to join them with your particular skill sets especially in negotiation." He explained watching her nod her head in weary understanding. "That is of course if you should choose so. I absolutely want you to feel comfortable and would like for you to make your own choices here."
"Well thank you." She dragged. "I-I'll definitely think on it." Nicole responded shifting forward in attention with her mind already running wild. She brushed her curly locks back and combed through it with her fingers in thoughtfulness.
"Everyone, Nicole will be with us for a while working and hopefully with Hank McCoy. She is learning in the field of communications and international affairs. Ororo will tutor her in the evenings with myself on various topics and she will be working on control of her own unique abilities. "The professor explained thoroughly. "She is a bit older than our typical students and she has graduated from college so this is why we are taking such a non-traditional training route.
"It will be a pleasure. That is quite an educational route". Ororo congratulated with a knowing smile having already spoken to the young woman and have spent time with her and her mother when they began their exploration of the institute and its services.
"Thank you again Ms. Ororo for your help. I really appreciate this and hopefully I can get this under control." Nicole responded looking to her hands before looking up at the tall statuesque woman.
"What are your mutant abilities?" Scott addressed crossing his arms growing curious about he information the Professor failed to mention prior to the gathering. He watched her stare at him before looking towards her hands in contemplation.
"Great question Scott! Let's find out. Nicole, will you please follow me." With that he went towards the door which opened for him and he strolled out. She stood immiedetlye and walked after him followed by the group. They walked down the hallway and towards the back where they were met with a wall. He pulled a panel and revealed an access pad. He rolled in front of it as it scanned his eyes and opened to reveal an elevator. He went in and everyone followed until it was full. Nicole looked onwards until he doors opened behind her. Everyone stepped out of the elevator into a brightly lit hallway that appeared as if it was taken from the set of Tron. She followed closely behind the professor gaping at the technology and information running along the walls.
"This is the Xmen Sub-basement. Only certain individuals are allowed to access this floor. There are a few rooms down here and each of them serves a unique purpose. The danger room is down the hallway to your left in which you will be training. The medical lab is to your right down this hallway and I'm taking you to Cerebro." The professor explained.
There was a lighted path throughout the floor and some lit up as they walked forward. Large circular metal doors with a giant X made from steel were seen. They went down the hallway till they reached what looked like a giant vault. The professor touched it with his hand and some red lights flashed over him quickly. The sound of information professing was heard before it spoke.
"Welcome Professor."
Nicole looked around the room looking for some kind of speaker or something but found nothing. Her energy was high and her eyes were looking everywhere. Clearly she was on high alert and found the whole situation to be downright crazy. 'This is some freaky star trek shit.' She thought standing now a bit closer to the professor out of anxiety and uncertainty.
The locks on the doors turned and a giant pressure system could be heard releasing air as the doors rolled to the side to let them inside. "Come Nicole." He commanded without looking back instead his hand came out reassuringly to rest on hers.
She went in and looked around the very spacious and dangerously built room that had no rails and no floors underneath the walking path. It looked like the inside of a giant metal bubble. There were large rectangular metal plates giving off their reflection around them. The path in front simply stopped in the middle where a rather sleek designed helmet sat on a computer pad. The door closed behind her tightly and she realized they were the only ones inside. She leaned over and saw how deep the fall would be should she gather the courage to attempt to jump. Her hair hung over her shoulder as she leaned over. Her stomach dropped at the sight of the distance down into the leaned back over and walked forward noticing the professor pick up the helmet and placed it gently on his head. A panic grew inside of her at being locked in and the possible dangers inside of the room.
"Nicole stand still, relax, and clear your mind." The professor ordered gently. "I'm going to have a more thorough look into your mind and get more information about your specific genetic powers so that I can provide a proper course of action for your studies that will involve your peers outside of this room." He explained doing his best to calm her by stating his intentions clearly and without cause for alarm. He waited patiently until he could feel her relax and stop her mind from screaming in warning which was affecting his concentration.
She managed to calm her heart and mind after a few minutes of breath control and rational thinking. After a while she noticed the professor grip his head with gentle fingers. Her skin crawled and she could hear small whispers coming from around her. An annoying feeling inside of her mind grew. Somehow she felt violated yet didn't know the culprit. Her eyes stayed connected to the back of the professor's head that gleamed under the lights. She took in a long breath doing her best to stay still with a clear mind. She stood there for what felt like minutes before the professor moved and took off the helmet. Suddenly the feeling of tiny ants crawling up her skin and the whispers were gone. She watched him turn his chair around and went towards the door making sure she moved along beside him. "See, that wasn't so scary." The professor calmed with a smile enjoying her look of awe and slightly laughing at her projected desire to leave the room as soon as possible.
They strolled out of the room and walked forward into another room much smaller than the previous one. This room held switches and doors and monitors in front of her where the Xmen were all crowding around talking amongst themselves. There was a big window that stretched along the wall and she could see another much larger room on the other side. It was almost the size of the room where Cerebro was located.
"This my dear is the Danger Room. This is where you will be trained to control your powers with the help of Ororo as your main instructor." He explained pointing pass the glass. "You are always safe here. This is the control room. Someone will always be here to make sure you are safe and performing within a controllable level of difficulty." Nicole nodded feeling a bit uneasy despite his reassurance. "We are going to do a bit of a practice simulation my dear." He looked to Chantel who nodded and grabbed her friend's hand. "Chantel please prepare her for a danger room exercise."
Chantel nodded and walked with Nicole towards the doors. Everyone watched them disappeared before speaking. "So professor?" Scott asked again waiting for the knowledge the professor would bestow upon them.
The professor nodded gathering his thoughts. "That was the first time I performed a genetic mind investigation of her powers. Before I discovered she does have a code for flight but her powers were a bit unstable but not in a negative notion." He explained watching their confused faces. "She possesses a nature based element like Ororo yet her code and some memories she has of their usage suggest that they change depending on the environment."
"Change? As if she possesses more than a few mutant abilities?" Questioned the weather goddess.
He shook his head no at her statement. "She has one power yet that power has the ability to manipulate different basic elements around her given the environment and its supply." The professor continued.
"Like manipulate anything?" Jean asked crossing her arms thinking of the possible dimensions of her mutant ability.
"No. They must be in their elemental natural state. Now how far does that power stretch remains to be seen and tested." They heard the sound of the two ladies walking and going into the room below. The professor looked down at the pair before going onward listening to Chantel give words of encouragement and explanations of her own personal experience in the room and starting out in this journey. "She has been practicing privately how to control her powers but never has she used them openly to aid her." He turned to look at the Xmen with a serious look. "We are going to do a similar exercise to that Chantel's." The professor explained while flipping on switches and pressing buttons to prepare for a simulation.
In the Danger Room…
Minutes had passed and she now stood in a very stiff uniform that felt oddly constructed around her body. She pulled at the collar that hugged snugly around her neck trying to let some type of cool breeze inside. Giving up she began flexing her fingers and growing nervous as the seconds ticked by. She turned to look at the wall which held the professor and the rest of the crew behind it from her view.
"This is some bull!" She whispered underneath her breath growing irritated and anxious. She wasn't sure what to expect but she wanted to get it over with. She was told she would be fighting in a simulation and was asked to wait. Chantel and disappeared on her and left her alone in the white room. she pulled at the gloves on her fingers before a ringing sound blared around her.
"Danger room loading….sequence begins in 5… 4…3…2…1. Begin."
"Hold up! No one said to cut in on!" She expressed as she turned around regretting her previous words looking at once were the control room sat. Now it looked more like a cliff high above her. She looked around at what looked like an oasis in a desert. She refused to step forward out of fear. "I'm not going anywhere. Like in a scary movie the black person always goes first and dies." She whispered as she looked back at where the control room was.
In the Control Room
"Professor she's not going to explore." Scott voiced watching the woman glare at them through the glass." Scott looked back at the professor before turning to look at Chantel. "Your friend is not so brave." Scott spoke and the crew turned to look at her expecting an answer.
Chantel just looked at them and burst out into laughter. "It's called playing safe. Why should she look for something that she has no reason find in the first place?" Chantel walked over to the professor to continue watching her friend. "And you put her in an oasis, like she really is going to anywhere. What are you going send after her?"
"I don't want to scare her away so… I'm going to make her fight Mystique in Nicole's comfort zone." The professor said as he pushed some buttons and typed in a few codes before pressing the load button. The screen went up with a blueprint and information regarding the functions and simulation specs that were being downloaded.
In the Danger Room…
She stood there, still looking at the control room shaking her head at their reasoning. She looked about the bland area with anxiety running though her wondering what would be first. "Why an oasis? Why it couldn't be a city with a Starbucks, Firehouse Subs, In & Out, and Shake Shack?" she asked underneath her breath.
"Mind if I join you?"
Her head whipped around to see a blue woman standing in a stance that clearly meant danger. The woman quickly ran up to her and threw a fist. At first Nicole was cut off guard but managed to roll out of the way. She looked back to see her coming at her again before she quickly took a step back and dodged her fists. Mystique did a roundabout kick to Nicole's stomach making her slide backwards in the sand. "I thought this was just a simulation!" she yelled feeling the pain of her stomach trying to hold onto its contents. The blue woman swung again and this time Nicole's hands caught them. She rolled with her and used her feet to throw her towards a palm tree. Mystique hit it hard but got up quickly and came back this time with more force. She threw a fist which Nicole hit out her of her way with a fan kick and then pushed her back using a butterfly kick.
The Control Room
"The girls good! She ain't using her power at all." Rogue said coming closer to watch along with the others. "How does she know how to fight so well?"
Chantel just looked at her knowingly. " We both trained under the same man. Granted Nicole has never had to fight like this on a regular but she's pretty good for her first time against a low level Mystique."
"Well let's put her against the Blob since she can handle herself it seems." Scott spoke beating the professor's hands on the keys. He quickly set the code on the computer to the correct formatting and initiated the download sequence.
They all continued to watch as Nicole tossed Mystique away with a light sheen of sweat on her forehead. Nicole had won and wasn't hurt at all but clearly endurance would be an issue for the woman. Nicole looked at the cliffs as she dusted herself off and yelled. "What the hell was that?" She shouted as her voice echoed throughout the room. Seconds later she was grabbed and thrown right in the pond in the oasis. Her body broke through the surface and soon she disappeared from sight underneath. Nothing happened for a while making Chantel grow a bit antsy. A few bubbles were seen rising to the top from where she had landed while the Blob simply stood there looking down and unmoving.
"Already, the little princess is out of commission." Said Logan as they all watched to see if Nicole would come up. "Maybe that was too harsh for her first time." The professor reached over to touch the termination button when Nicole had risen above the water. Her head bobbed and her once salon curled hair was now drenched and sticking to her face. She looked pissed as she gazed at her opponent. He looked ten times her size. She touched and surveyed her hair growing angry at the waste of money she spent to get it done. "I hope you are going to pay for this! This took hours!" She yelled. The ground cracked from where she was to his feet. Nicole hopped out of the oasis and lifted her hands. The ground shook and cracked beneath him and began breaking away. A large bolder flew up and hovered before her. She kicked it and it flew full force at the rather large fat man. It was powerful enough to throw him back a bit but he grunted and proceeded to stampede towards her.
"Oh my gosh! You just gonna crush her! Nicole is tiny, she is gonna get squished." Chantel panicked not liking the situation. Nicole did train with her but not like this and not in a setting where she knew she would be fighting all the time. He head whipped to look at the professor who simply held his hand up.
In the Danger Room
"Maybe I can out run his fat ass!" Nicole turned and took off like a bat out of hell. Her feet sunk into the sand but she continued to push forward. Already she was growing tired and her uniform was sticking to her body. When she got far she would push another attack before moving to make a run for it so that he wouldn't catch her.
The blob moved in such an artificial way. Truly he wasn't this fast and had this much endurance. Nicole stopped and without thinking she twisted her wrist near the water and a major portion of it flew out into the air. With a quick motion she twirled and threw it at the giant man. The water covered him like a bubble and pressured specifically around his head. She focused as a bead of sweat glided down her face into her uniform. Using what little control she could manage she covered his whole entire body in the water bubble. He looked as if he was drowning in the blob of water until Nicole stepped back and pushed with her hands as if she was moving something heavy. The water condensed around him as he wiggled and fought to free himself. She pulled her hands making him fall into the pond. She held on clutching her eyes tightly in concentration.
They watched as the Blob sunk in the pond making the water crash alongside the edges of the pond and onto the sandy ground. Ripples moved around rapidly before he disappeared underneath it leaving only bubbles to rise from the water's surface. They watched her look down and hold her hands into fists never moving an inch. A few minutes passed and the water bubbles ceased and the pond stilled.
"Danger room sequence completed."
"Dat waz somtin dare. Petite is quite a feature no!" said Gambit as they watched the young lady bend down to grip her knees and blow exasperated. Her hair hung over her shoulder and she soon sat down to catch her breath. Her face was red and she looked truly tired.
"This sucks so bad. I-I'm in pain. And my hair...what?!" She sat looking at her hair that curled up by the seconds into a frizzy mass. She looked down at herself trying to squeeze the water out of her hair and ripping off the gloves that made no sense to her. She took off her boots and dumped it of its water. She put them back on when she heard a voice speaking again.
Soon everything went back to the white area. She looked down at herself to see that she wasn't wet at all. She touched her hair to see that it was frizzy from her exertion but not drenched in water as she so believed. "That felt so real!" She just began feeling her face, the hem on her shirt, her shoes and still nothing. The professor came out at that moment through the set of doors.
"The danger room is built to make you believe that whatever you see, touch, smell, hear is real. Your body responds to the electronic signals and the brain processes the information as pain. When deactivated your body naturally adjusts itself back to reality." He explained.
"I swear," she paused before swallowing. "I was there. I was…just soaked and I could taste the sand. My hair was just soaked!" Nicole said truly confused and really wanting a nap more than anything. her hands went up to touch her hair again noting its dryness.
"That was awesome! I thought you just knew Kung fu?" Chantel came running out of the room to hug her friend.
"I also learned a few other things. They offered it down the street near Tinsel town at Sifu Yuan's." Nicole explained. "I had to do something to keep myself busy while you were away and I was stressed out to the max with school." The others had come out to join them. Some looking impressed while others (mainly Wolverine) looked with dubious glances.
"That was very impressive Nicole." The professor spoke taking a position in front of her. "You have given us much to work with and I'm even more reassured that Storm here would be an excellent choice." He spoke motioning to Ororo. "Every day, you are to report to the Danger Room at 5pm in the afternoon. You must learn all of your powers because it seems that some respond to force and others respond to movement." The professor explained while thinking to himself about her particular skill set.
Storm stepped forward to rub Nicole's back noticing her tiredness. "That was very brilliant. Get plenty of rest Nicole for tomorrow will be coming rather quickly. You are gonna need it." Storm advised ushering her towards the doors.
Nicole just nodded and walked alongside of her towards the women changing rooms. Her mind was scattered with questions and her hands continued to check for bruises and marks but found none. Quickly she put on her dress and flats while continuously rubbing her skin and checking her hair for water. She felt as if she was having an outer body experience and her mind refused to process the situation. After donning her clothes she slowly walked back towards the group and received their questions and remarks with hesitation. They were all speaking but their words fell on deaf ears and a white noise blared in the background of her mind along with a ringing noise. They all exited the sub-basement and soon she found herself in the hallway surrounded by children racing off in various directions. Chantel was going on about something and slowly her words began to make sense unlike the new world around her. Soon they made their way into the large dining hall. There were six long tables, each packed with students and food. Mouths were open and happiness was heard from the many conversations around her. Nicole looked at Chantel who pointed towards Jacob who waved from the far back in the corner. They walked over searching for seats and making room to be seated. Nicole looked at his plate to find it full of meat, potatoes, and bread. Soon Chantel was building one of her own from the serving dishes in front of her.
"That's a lot of meat! Preparing to join MMA?" Nicole asked as she began her plate decorating.
"Na, this is natural. If tonight is anything like last night then I got to dig in otherwise I'm gonna be starving again." Explained Jacob before he took a chunk out of his steak.
"Last night?" Nicole looked at Chantel with a very suggestive glance before the sting of Chantel's hand onto her arm was felt. "Ow!"
"No you sicko! We had a mission last night. The idiots from the Brotherhood got into some mischief by the bay and the professor sent us to check it out." Chantel said before she took a bite of her potatoes.
"So you both are part of it too? The X-men?" Nicole asked looking at them both with curiosity. She was a bit frightened by the experience and she admitted she wanted some comfort about the situation. Thoughts of possible death and destruction of her person was a very good wake up call to the reality of the nature of the institute. She wasn't sure if she was cut out for anything remotely close to what she felt in the Danger Room.
"Yeah, it was a job for the X-men. We moved up in ranks recently. You got the older crew and then you have us. Jacob, Bobby, Kurt, Kitty, and myself." She pointed them out for Nicole to see. Bobby looked athletic like a typical football star from High School. Kurt looked normal except he looked almost elfish in build with black blue hair Kitty looked very much like a girl from California currently hanging onto Bobby's arm while chastising Kurt's table manners.
"Jacob and I went up in rank so we get to hang with the upper X-men on missions. In short, we roll with them on missions that need our skill set or Jacob is head leader of our little segment and we go out into the field like last night." Chantel said gazing downwards her plate. Her knife and fork cut into her steak and placed the tiny morsel in her mouth.
"Wooowwww…so Jacob, you're team leader. But, isn't Scott team leader?" Nicole asked finishing off her mash potatoes.
"No it means that I just debrief my group and set up strategy so we are all on the same page. I like being in Scott's group way more than I like being a leader. Truthfully, I would prefer missions when Logan lead's. His nose is really good. But the professor says he sees potential and promise in me so lately I've been given more missions to lead." He explained as he looked at Chantel with a gleam in his eyes.
Nicole just smirked as she watched the two exchange looks of obvious admiration. She smiled at the pair before looking around her and catching the sights of red gems. She glanced to see the Cajun man standing in the corner discussing something with Storm far away towards the parlor doors. His eyes however were glued to hers and quickly she looked away to focus on something else. She looked back to her plate and did her best to stay involved in the conversation of their little group but soon she found it to bore her. Her body hurt and her muscles were sore making her long for a nice warm bath and a welcoming bed. The other students were young and still in high school. Chantel and Jacob together made her feel like a third wheel as they huddled closely together clearly engaged in conversation that entwined them on the same cloud in heaven. Her eyes would glance up slightly hoping to catch the Cajun in her sights but found he had vanished. She scanned the room noting that most of the adults weren't in the room either except for the professor and Ororo who sat eating and conversing with the many students that approached them. She turned to her new friends and found she was even further isolated from the conversation and knew nothing about the subject leaving her to scroll her social media pages on her phone as a distraction until she couldn't take it. Quickly she stood up and announced her departure leaving before anyone could really question her sudden desire to leave.
She took her tray and placed it on the rack before making her way towards the double doors leading to the stairs. Her legs ached with each movement going upwards yet somehow she persevered. She reached her floor and her foot dropped heavily. She looked down at her legs in awe before she bumped into something hard and panicked.
"Oh excuse me, I'm sorry." She apologized. Strong hands held her by her arms to steady her upright.
"That'z alright mon chere. Excuse dis Remy for hiz lack of attention." He spoke making sure she was steady on her feet.
With that Nicole looked up to find red mist in his black starry eyes looking down at her with a smirk on his face. Nearly hypnotized she still managed to get a grip. "That's alright Mr. Lebeau. I should have been paying attention."
"Please, call me Remy or Gambit if you'd prefer. Da name is Remy Lebeau." He responded letting her go yet still hovering around her. His spicy scent filled her nose and she thought of a fireball coursing down her throat and thought of his name that rolled and enticed her taste buds like the spice in the alcoholic beverage. His face showed angles and lines of a dangerously handsome man. Remnants fro clock shadow decorated his face giving him an older yet oddly sophisticated look. His croppy hair fell slightly in his face and without realizing it, her hand came up to push the stray strand out of the way. They continued to share space and eye contact clearly captured by the other. Her hand slowly came down to have Remy capture it and massage her knuckles gently with his fingers before letting her hand go.
"Oh, ok Remy" She responded eyeing him warily. He towered over her a bit and she stood straighter. "Gambit?" She asked as the spell quickly broke. "How did you get a name like that?"
Remy smirked at this. "Stick around and maybe you will find out, fille." His eyes looked up ahead as if he was being called. He looked downwards and a small curse fell from his lips. She watched him turn to her and smirk.
"Remy, the professor's calling you!" Scott yelled from the bottom of the staircase. Remy leaned over and saluted so that the man would turn away and go back to wherever he had come. Most likely he was going to the professor's office since he too had been summoned to commune in his office for a late night adventure.
Remy smirked noting the exhausted look on the young woman's body. He reached into one of his coats pocket and fished out a small bag. He reached for her hands and placed the bag in her palm before curling his fingers around hers to form a grip. "Make sure you sleep well." He looked behind her quickly before straightening up a little. Remy shrugged and took a step back to move pass the woman with large brown eyes. Nicole let loose a breath she didn't know she was holding.
"I hope to be bumping into you again soon petite." He said that as he coolly just walked off with the swagger and nonchalance of a prince. She looked in her hand to see a tiny tea bag that read chamomile. She looked up quickly and walked towards the rail to see his coat blowing behind him with each step he conquered. "Many pleasures mon cher." He called out.
Nicole watched him walk down before a door closed behind her. She looked to see the one called Rogue standing outside of her room staring straight at her with a complexed look and turning to look at the stairs. Her door was shut behind her and she adjusted her gloves on her hands making direct eye contact. Seconds ticked by and it took the color of Rogue's face along with it. However, that was short lived and the color soon poured into her face like a tomato. Nicole's eyebrows drew inward with confusion at her reaction to her presence. Before the words to ask the nature of her disposition could come out of Nicole's mouth, Rogue was in front of her and reaching.
How do you like it? Review !
