Hello! This is NeoShadows!

And hot damn! I thought I'd never get the chance to update this story. No, I mean seriously. Not for the lack of trying, mind you, but I had to gather a lot of data for this story. Kingdom Hearts is one hell of a crossover story. For fucks sake! The game itself is a massive crossover with other properties of Disney and Square Enix. Some of these games I have sadly have not had the chance to play. Like Final Fantasy 7. Didn't have the money at the time for a Playstation so I missed out on that. And I'm probably going to have to find time to play that and watch several Disney movies to do this story justice. Childhood, I'm coming for ya. And not with popcorn, but Nachos. With hot cheese.

And a blueberry slushie. . .And maybe a hotdog.

So, here we are with the second chapter! Was halfway through with this chapter before the troubles started. Sadly lost a couple of friends to death. Makes you appreciate life and how lucky you are to be alive after all the crap you go through. But I'm back. Here to get this piece of crap laptop to load up and freeze when I'm writing my stories. Got the money for a new one, but I'm cheap. Hate to see money drop. When I got enough to not worry about it I'll get a new one. Till then, I'll try to write my best with what I got.

I sound like a broken record when I say I'm back and still writing, yada, yada, yada. Honestly, I'm surprised people still follow me and favorite me along with a review. Seriously, I get updates and emails on my phone telling me people still read my stories. Guys, and gals, have one hell of a way to light my fire. . . . not in that way. Though, I am single.

And straight. You'd be surprised by the amount of yaoi here. Especially the Kingdom Hearts section. Got nothing against it, several of my closest friends in highschool were gay, but goddamn it! It's hard to find a good story without it being about yaoi smut!

Enough ranting. I need coffee.

I'll be updating whenever I can. I really do like this story. The ideas, the battles playing in my head, god I wish I wasn't such a hard worker. My boss loves working me. She's not bad, gave me my first shot at work, and the money is good, but I'm glad she's given two days off again. Six days and overtime is great, but leaves little for game time and writing time. I've lost twenty damn pounds simply working!

Okay, back to the story.

Enjoy the chapter. It's only the beginning to an epic adventure!

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail, nor Kingdom Hearts. That's all owned by their respected owners. Who are they, you ask with shining eye's, you ask? The fuck do I look like? The internet? You got a phone or compouter/laptop. Google will answer your questions. Just. . .don't use it to look up you know what. Call me a hypocrite, but resist the urge to look up H material. I know it is strong, but I believe in you to fight this demon. At least long enough till we've all left. . . . .Ya dirty bastard.

Chapter 2: Landing is the Key.

Far off, in another world, one that had gone through its fair share of darkness and turmoil in the past few years, a young, dark haired woman could be seen sitting atop a rather large cottage housing members of Radiant Garden's new Restoration Committee. She was looking up at the many stars lighting up the night sky of her world with violet eye's that reflected the great beauty of the unknown. Marveling at the great beauty of the stars.

Oh, who hell was she kidding? Yuffie was bored.

Ever since the end of their fight with Xemnas and his army of Heartless and Nobodies, Radiant Garden was seeing some peaceful times. Sure, Heartless and Nobodies still popped up from time to time, but unless they were stronger then your average Shadow they were taken care of by Cid's Claymore security system. They didn't have much to do with everything finally settling down other then rebuilding the town, helping the people with their problems, and assisting the odd ex-Organization XIII members with their research on how they came back to life.

Frankly, Yuffie missed the good old days.

Yuffie Kisaragi was an eighteen year old girl. Well, not your average girl. She was a ninja. A thief. And a hunter of treasures of all kind. She wore an unzipped, dark gray combat vest with a black strap dangling from the right pocket overtop and navy blue tank top with white floral designs. A white wristband went on her right wrist and a gray, fingerless glove on her left arm. Her shorts were slightly darker and had another black strap dangling from the left side. Yuffie also wore black, knee-high socks with white stripes at the top underneath dark tan boots that were slightly shorter than her socks

Don't get her wrong, she was glad that the chaos was finally over with. Their world was saved and no one in any other world would have to go through the sorrow of losing their home world to darkness. And she was happy for that. But she was a woman of adventure!

Waking up everyday knowing that she was facing a new threat, mowing down little baddies and big baddies that dropped treasure, feeling the odd thrill of knowing you might not make it out alive, and just the very idea of being involved in a grand adventure that affected the very balance of the world. It was a feeling that she just couldn't explain but loved.

But now that Sora and his crew were done saving the world from darkness and off to become Master's at Yin Sid's place, there really wasn't much world saving for them to do.

Ah, Sora. She could still remember the day he fell into their world on a night like today. The weird, goofy, spiky brown haired boy that had dropped in from his own world to save many others that had been engulfed by darkness. The Keyblade's next hero to take up the odd key shaped sword and light the way to peace. And if she remembered right from Scrooge Mcduck's stories from his days in Radiant Garden before it became Hollow Bastion, three more Keyblade wielders stepped foot on their world just as the chaos began.

It seemed that whenever a new threat arrived a Keyblade wielder would come to begin the cycle of saving the world again.

Unfortunately there were no new threats and no new Keyblade wielders that she knew of. Discounting Axel, or Lea as he always loudly corrected.

She wanted adventure, dammit! Peace was cool and everything but she was trained to fight monsters and bad guy's for a living! Well, that and steal things from others with awesome ninja skills. She wasn't trained as a highly stealthy assassin for nothing.

Maybe she could go out and travel the world. That sounded nice and it brought a lot more adventure then sitting around here. But she'd miss her friends and she didn't want to say good bye to them after everything they've been through together.

If only something interesting could happen. At least long enough to keep her from dying from boredom.

Looking up at the stars, Yuffie could only wish for a miracle to end her boredom.

"I really wish something cool could happen right about now." She pouted with a tired look on her face.

You know the old saying, be careful what you wish for.

Of all the stars that were shining that night, one stood out from all the others. Yuffie squinted her eye's at the odd star as it seemed to glow an ethereal pale blue instead of the yellowish white she was use to.

Was it her, or was the star getting bigger?

Coming down at incredible speeds the so called star shot down from above and over Merlin's cottage to crash into the center of Radiant Garden's shops, tearing through the wind and rustling everything in its path overhead the blinking ninja. Whatever crashed down was no star seeing as it didn't look as big as one. It did bring a loud, booming, crash that rumbled the entire town in its aftermath. Smoke bellowed and the female ninja could even hear the sounds of Cid's security system going off.

She couldn't help it. She grinned widely at the sounds of what she could without a doubt guess was a new adventure ready to start the cycle of saving worlds all over again.

Taking one last look up at the stars, Yuffie knew that a new threat was ready to threaten their world again. Which meant that her and her friends days of lazing off where coming to an end. It was time to get serious once again.

Grabbing onto her four pointed fuma shuriken with one hand and tightening her bandanna, Yuffie quickly made way to the sight of the crash while ignoring the shouts of confusion coming out of her teams base. All while wearing a big excited grin on her face and a twinkle in her eye.

Adventure was a calling and she couldn't leave it on voice mail.

By the time the new Radiant Garden Restoration Committee felt the shook of something crashing into their home town it was already too late to go out and check out what was happening as the spirited ninja girl of their team shouts of joy entered their ears.

"Don't worry, I got this!"

Squall Leonhart, or as he was known as now, Leon, rubbed his head tiredly with a sigh at the girl's shout to stay back. He knew she was feeling bored lately, but that didn't mean she could just go off and investigate some big crash landing and tell them to stay back just to satisfy her boredom. The girl could be full of too much energy sometimes.

Leon was a man of twenty-six with unruly brown hair. He wore a short black sleeved coat with fur lining on the collar and red wings decorated the back with a white under shirt. His pants were black and zipper lined along with his black shoes, three belts also hung around his waist and a griever necklace could be seen around his neck. The most noticeable thing about him could be the scar running diagonally across his face.

"What do you think, Cloud? Should we go out and check it out too?" He looked back to the ex-SOLDIER resting across the bookshelf across the room.

Cloudlazily opened one eye at the gunblade wielder. Unlike his companion he wore a much more darker outfit consisting of a long sleeved turtle neck with one sleeve missing, a black waistcoat, pants, and combat boots, and a rather large cleaver like blade tied to his back.

"Don't know. From the looks of it there's no need to rush if we haven't heard any screaming, yelling, or cries for help yet. For all we know a meteorite may of just fallen out of the sky." He replied half heartily with a yawn before resting his back against the wall close by the door.

Leon frowned at his response. Not exactly the answer he was looking for. Expecting, yes, but not hoping for.

Sensing his worry, Cloud waved his hand off at the matter.

"If it's anything serious then Yuffie will let us know when she comes back. The girl can handle herself, you know? Worse case scenario, its a new type of Heartless. Cid's Halberd, or whatever system, should be able to weaken it down enough for her to take it down with no real hassle." he faintly smiled as he stood a bit straighter.

They had all survived an invasion of darkness and nothingness, he was pretty sure they were weathered to the point to stand against anything new that fate might throw at them. And if not, then they would only need to grow stronger. They still had each other, and as he had come to learn, as long as they had each other they would all be fine. That he was sure of.

Still not too sure, Leon decided he would take his friend's word for it. Yuffie was a full grown woman, if she didn't act like it at times. She could handle things for herself.

Taking a look out the window, the brunette man could make out a bellow of smoke coming out from the center of the town's square and the whooping shouts of exciting from an all too familiar voice.

For some reason his gut was telling him, no, shouting at him, that their peaceful days of lounging around their little headquarters was soon coming to an end.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" Natsu groaned as he found himself in the middle of a smoking crater in some unknown place. One second he was gathered everyone in the Light team to fight off the weird, giant monster with a heart shaped hole in its chest as the world darkened, the next he was enveloped in a bright light and shot off before he was knocked out. Probably feinted from the new form of transportation he suffered through. It gave him shivers thinking back on the ride.

A ride he wasn't even conscious to remember.

Moving up from inside the crater, Natsu blinked in confusion at the new scenery that greeted him. The place looked kinda like Magnolia, except for the fairy tale like theme it had going on. Looked liked he landed in some shop district or something. Weird, he was pretty sure their wasn't anything like this near Nirvana.

Where the hell was he? Whatever must of taken him couldn't of taken him that far, could it? And why did the place look fine? Wasn't the world being swallowed up by darkness? Dammit, all these questions were hurting his head. That and his body was still beat up from fighting Zero.

Natsu quickly made his way out of the crater, taking a careful step as his legs were still shaky after all the fights he had just went through. Now all he had to do was ask someone where the hell was he and get back to Nirvana before things got bad. His friends were probably still fighting that thing, wondering where he had gone off to. He sighed, he was going to get an earful when he went back.

"Hello~! Is anyone there?"

"Eh?" Natsu made sound of surprise as he could make out a figure jumping on rooftops. Was that a ninja? Awesome! Only ninjas jumped rooftops like ninjas because they were ninjas and that's what ninjas do! Wait till he told Happy about this.

Yuffie quickly spotted the crater from Merlin's rooftop and now could make out the crater from a few houses back. Boy, whatever created that must have been big. Lucky it hadn't hit any shops or homes close by. That would have been a problem. Squinting her eye's a bit she could of sworn she could make out a head full of pink standing out of the crash site. And it looked spiky. She grinned. Everyone with spiky hair was interesting and bound to bring adventure.

The ninja girl sped up, intent to arrive as soon as possible. And with a good jump, landed before the slightly startled spiky pink haired boy.

"Nice to meet ya, stranger!" Yuffie grinned with a salute, not bothering to take things slow to the odd man before she had never met in her life, "Names Yuffie Kisaragi, master ninja and total badass! Here to fight off any new evil following after you!"

". . .Eh? So, you are a ninja?" Natsu asked conspicuously before getting a nod from the ninja. He grinned widely, "Awesome! I always wanted to meet a real life ninja!"

Pretty sure he didn't even pay attention to the whole new evil following him. Or that some random girl popped out of no where to met him.

"Then I'm your girl!" She winked before something had caught her eye, making her nearly jump up and down in joy.

"So you're a Keyblade wielder!? This has to mean something's going to happen the world! Which means new baddies to fight and steal from!"

Natsu blinked again before his eye's followed the girl's line of sight. Once again the weird weapon he got from the voiceless voice was in his hands. And he was pretty sure he didn't summon it or anything. He didn't even know how to. What was it doing in his hand?

"Keyblade, huh? I thought I lost it when I threw it at the large monster with a hole in its chest." Natsu scratched his head as he looked it over.

"Yeah, you can't get rid of that thing." Yuffie nodded her head as she got a look at it. Way more different then Sora's Kingdom Key. And it looked cooler. Almost like Axel's.

"It sticks to you, even when you throw it away as hard as you can it'll come back into your hand, like magic. Everyone with a keyblade seems to be able to summon it out of thin air whenever they want. Lucky them, I throw my ninja star a mile far and I won't be able to call it back without wasting some much needed magic." She pouted. Keyblade wielders got all the luck.

Whatever it was, it was cool. Too bad he didn't really know how to fight with a sword. That was Erza's specialty. His were smashing knuckles onto other guy's ugly mugs. Speaking of which. . .

"Hey, Luffie,"

"Yuffie. Get it right or I'll stick you full of kunai."

"yeah, yeah, sure." he nonchalantly ignored the smiling threat thrown at him as he continued, "Can you tell me where I am? I gotta get back to Nirvana. Can't remember where exactly it was at, but just steer me close to Magnolia and I'll get directions. I'll even get on some god forsaken transportation if it means getting there as soon as possible." he felt slightly sick just thinking about it.

But he had to get there no matter what. Even if it meant shaking hands with the train riding devil.

Yuffie looked lost on her part. Magnolia? Never heard of it. Sounded foreign to her. He must have been from another world just like the rest. Poor guy. It sounded like his friends were in trouble too. Sounded all too familiar to her. Just before their world was swallowed by darkness they were faced with a great evil. The darkness taking over their world was almost a blessing. Who knew what might of happened if things continued the way things were going down.

She hated to do it, but she had to break the news to him.

"You know I never got your name?" She blushed in embarrassment as she scratched her head.

Natsu looked surprised before he smiled at the ninja, "Names Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail mage and all around kickass! Nice to meet ya!" he held out his hand to the girl.

Yuffie shook his hand, smiling softly as she got ready to break the news.

"Natsu, huh? Well welcome to Radiant Garden, formally known as Hollow Bastion."

"Radiant Garden?" Never heard of it. He was pretty sure he never heard of no Radiant Garden in Fiore. Did the light send him off another continent!? What the hell!? What was he going to do know?

"Please don't tell me I'm on another continent or something." he groaned, dreading how far he was, "I don't think we've got any magic or transportation that can get me across in less then a day."

"Sorry to say, but you're way farther then you'd guess." Yuffie sadly frowned. Natsu's brows knotted together before he found a sick feeling place itself in his gut. His gut always steered him in the right directions. And know it was telling him something bad was happening.

"This isn't your world. This is a whole new world, one that had escaped the darkness and has become almost a refugee home for those who have found themselves lost after their own was swallowed in it. And it seems you may have escaped the destruction all on your own. I'm sorry." she apologized honestly as she looked up at the pink head.

Natsu instantly froze on the spot before he looked down, his pink locks shadowing his expression.

No way. No way in hell! How was it possible!? Just a moment ago they were all facing the end together, and now he found himself in a whole new world, escaping his homes destruction all by his self? It wasn't possible, but why would this girl lie to him? What would be the point? His hands clenched, cracking as he began to grow angry at the cruel turn of events.

Unknowingly missing the pools of shadows bleeding out from all around the two's location.

Yuffie's eye's widened in alarm as an all too old feeling crept back up on her. Heartless were coming, and it looked like the Halberd system wasn't taking care of them anymore.

Pools of darkness leaked out around their positions, drawing forth several gooey blobs from the pools before beginning to manifest themselves.

"Are those. . .slugs?" Yuffie sweatdropped.

Indeed the darkness manifested itself as slugs. Big slugs. All seven of them surrounded the two, slithering at five feet tall with hollow yellow eyes under their feelers. They raised themselves up to reveal their bellies, and their lanky arms and massive fists hidden by their sleek body. As they outstretched them she could see the fists were a good two feet, it was a wonder how the hell they hid those bad boys. And on each right backhand was a visible Heartless emblem.

Yuffie readied herself as she took out her fuma shuriken. Looked like somebody had been busy creating new baddies since Xemnas was taken out.

"Well, Natsu, let's see what you got." she laughed half-heartily.

A sudden raging inferno lite up the Dragon Slayer that made Yuffie jump back in surprise, swinging her large ninja star to block a rather quick punch from the new Heartless as she looked in shock.

How the hell did he do that!? His body was literally burning, he was a human torch stick for crying out loud! And the guy wasn't even in pain? What kind of magic was that? Was it the keyblade?

"I'm not in the mood." Yuffie's jaw dropped as she could see Natsu look up in a silent anger, the guy not even surprised by the fire cladding his body. As if it was normal.

"It's all because of you bastards that I'm here, isn't it?" His knuckles turned white as he glared the emotionless beings simply watching him without a care in the world. The same emotionless eyes as the giant thing that ate his world's heart.

"That weird voice said you things were scared of this blade, right?" He raised his keyblade at the slugs, watching as they seemed to tremble with in a frenzy like manner as he pointed it at them. "Well I'm about to give you another reason to be scared off, and I hope you send the message," The blade blossomed into golden flames, illuminating the draconian eye's ready to tear them apart before he dived into the fray with a roar, "THAT YOU SHOULDN'T FUCK WITH ME!"

The slugs, while slow on what they called feet, were surprisingly fast with their arms. One of the slugs Natsu ran into quickly swung its giant fists to attack the pink head. Natsu jumped over the fist, raising the keyblade overhead to chop the thing in two. The Heartless reacted by moving its arm to block the overhead swing with the backhand of its fist. A clang resounded from the two meeting before it threw him back with a mighty swing.

Natsu grit his teeth, ducking under fist that shot off at the back of his head. His eyes looked back to see another slug inhumanly stretching out its skinny arm like rubber to attack him. They really were quicker then they looked. For not being able to move quick, their arms seemed to make up for that weakness.

The arm stretched back to the giant slug's side before it shot both of its arms back, stretching them two yards back. The fists shot off like slingshots, cracking the wind as they aimed at Natsu like cannons.

Natsu's eyes widened in alarm. They were coming too fast to even dodge. With no other choice he stood his ground, moving up his new weapon to block the attack. The large fists created a heavy impact against Natsu's guard, lifting him off his feet and throwing him into the side of building close by. The building side cracked before Natsu's impact, causing him to gasp in pain as he stepped back.

What the hell was that? Those little guys he was fighting before were no sweat! They died in one hit for crying out loud! How was it that these guys were able to cause a problem now?

"You okay, Natsu?!" Yuffie shouted from a few spaces back, dealing with three of the Heartless on her own. The three shot off their right fists at the girl, missing as she jumped up. She quickly dodged the next shots in midair, adding a little magic of her own to her weapon before sending it flying. One of the slugs put up its fists to block, sadly useless. The shuriken glowed an ethereal green as it sliced through its defenses. It didn't stand a chance. The thing went puff.

Its death didn't affect the others. Swinging their fists at alarming speeds they forced Yuffie to dodge each blow coming her way with her ninja reflexes working overtime.

Natsu bit back a curse, "Yeah, I'm fine!" he shouted back before he was interrupted by a firing punch sent his way.

Looked like he just needed to put a little more oomf into his attacks. That was fine, he could do that.

His blade still lite with flames, Natsu spun his keyblade by its chain just like he did when he was fighting Darkside. It turned into a blurring windmill of gold fire, whirling madly as he swung it up in the air.

"Karyu no Kushu(Fire Dragon's Air Raid)!"

Letting the disk of flames loose, the keyblade aimed at a defending Heartless a few spaces ahead. Just like its brother it didn't stand a chance as its blocking arms were torn apart, exploding in a burst of dragon flames. But unlike the one Yuffie had killed, the puff of darkness released what looked like a bright pink heart.

Natsu frowned as the heart floated up before it was enveloped in darkness and disappeared. That was odd. What just happened?

His line of thought was cut off by a heavy impact crashing into his back that sent him falling. He could of sworn his back nearly broke in half! He glared at one of the slugs from the ground as it slowly made its way towards.

"This better work." He grunted in pain. He moved up with the help of his arms, turning around to look back at the Heartless. He grinned with a pained expression, stretching his arm out as if he was holding a sword to point at the thing. The next moment a bright light enveloped his hand, nearly blinding him in the moment before his keyblade popped in hand. "Now let's improvise!" he shouted happily as the endpoint of the key shined with an orange light.

"Karyu no Kienba(Fire Dragon's Key Ember)!" An orb of condensed golden flames shot out of Natsu's keyblade, drilling right through the Heartless slug. It died in its explosive aftermath, leaving a bellow of smoke behind as he smirked.

An idiot he may have been, but he was a genius on the battlefield.

Catching another Heartless slug aim both of its fists at him through the smoke, Natsu dashed at it, moving in a beeline formation to avoid falling before its blurring bullet assault. "Three," he grinned, noting that he could see Yuffie quickly slice a slug in half before running off to meet Natsu mid clash with his Heartless, "Four, and" the Heartless caught both teens coming for its head, taking the moment to spread its hands out to catch their attack. The attempt failed as the two swung their blades at the middle, slicing it from its midsection. It went poof in a dark cloud as it released its heart.

"That's five!" Natsu panted as he stood side to side with his new ninja friend, both pointing their respected weapons at the remaining two Heartless, "Only two more to go!"

"Not so tough are ya, sluggies?" Yuffie winked, blowing a raspberry as she did.

"Now let's finish this!" he grinned. Taking the keyblade by its chain, the Dragon Slayer began to rapidly spin it till it resembled a blurring disk of flames. Catching onto the idea Yuffie spun her fuma shuriken until it resembled Natsu's keyblade, except for the magical flames coating the mad whirl of fire. It did glow an emerald green as she decided to add a little magic into her next swing.

"Karyu no Kushu(Fire Dragon's Air Raid)!"

"Gurisu-iri Inazuma(Greased Lightning)!"

Letting their respected windmills fly, the Heartless were left with no other option of escape. As the attacks struck, a dome of flames blew up as they met head on, tearing the area apart and destroying the beings of darkness. Both fighters shielded their faces before the gust blown up from the explosion, gritting their teeth from the force slightly pushing them back on their feet.

As the flames died down and the wind settled back into its natural flow, the two where left standing in the middle of their battlefield, alone in the burning, torn up, plaza shopping center.

Even if Natsu had left Earthland, his reputation for destruction followed him to the new world. And it didn't seem to be winded.

"Now that that's over with," Natsu panted as his back decided to remind him he was basically hit by a cannon fire. He moved his keyblade for support, using it to keep him up as he looked back at Yuffie with a serious expression etched on his face, "tell me, where the fuck am I?" he growled.

Yuffie awkwardly scratched the side of her head, sighing. She wasn't hoping for this. "I already told you, you're in Radiant Gard-"

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME, DAMMIT!" Natsu roared violently, cutting the ninja off. Yuffie involuntary stepped back at the ferocious roar. It was almost inhuman, struck fear right through her heart. But still, she couldn't back down. He had to get it through his head and understand what was happening to him.

"Don't mess with me, I'm not in the mood." Natsu hissed, coughing suddenly. His outburst must of worsen his wounds from his last fights. All the adrenaline left his system, reminding him of all the damage he had sustained throughout the day.

Yuffie shook her head at the pink head, hardening her eye's as she spoke, "I'm not playing with you. Why would I? I don't even know you. What would I gain from lying to you about something as horrible as losing your friends?" she said softly with a pained look.

She knew the pain. The pain of losing your family, your friends, everyone you'd loved to the darkness. She was all too familiar with it, so she knew what he was going through. It was never easy accepting the truth.

Natsu openly grit his teeth in pain, from both his wounds and the news. He knew she wasn't lying to him. He just couldn't accept it. He couldn't! What the hell was the point of even having the dumb key in his hand if he couldn't even protect his friends? He let them all down, even his world. Why? Why the hell was he the only one who had made it out of the darkness alive!

Flames raged from outside his body, slightly pushing back Yuffie from the intensity roaring fire swallowing the keyblade wielder. She shielded her face from the light emanating from the flames, frowning sadly as a roar of anguish and pain shot out of the bonfire that was Natsu. He cried out in despair, his magic running wild as he lost control of his emotions.

The flames were so bright that even those from far off could see the faintest of light peak out from the distance. And if one had asked what they thought of it, they would of said that it was the saddest hue of gold they had ever seen.

Yuffie didn't know what to do in the face of the inferno. She couldn't walk into it without being alive to comfort him, but she couldn't let him rage on anymore without burning the whole shopping district down along with him. Not to mention she had nothing on her to knock him out with, and using her fuma shuriken was a bad idea. Still, it was sad to watch him going on like this any longer. Just watching by as he cried to the world pulled at her heartstrings. What was she going to? She bit her lip, closing her eyes as Natsu continued to roar in sadness.

"Blizzaga!"

Yuffie's eyes widen in surprise as two familiar voices shouted out from nowhere before two balls of crystal ice blasted the origin of the golden flames. A bellow of steam blew up from the spells hitting their target, putting out the fire as Natsu was clouded within. From above, Leon and Cloud landed beside the shocked ninja, their weapons posed just in case whatever was creating the flames attacked.

"Leon, Cloud, what are you guy's doing here?" Yuffie stammered as she watched the two keep their eyes on the bellowing steam drifting around them.

"What do you think!?" Leon's jaw dropped at the dumb question, "The Halberd system was going crazy since you left! All of a sudden the system was overloaded from the spike of Heartless spawning all over town. It couldn't handle taking on all these Heartless popping up, so we had to move out and take care of the left overs that the system couldn't handle."

"And it looks like we made in time." Cloud added as he began to notice the steam weaken to outline the threat in front of them, "Whatever Heartless you were fighting must have been tough. I've never seen one that could produce so much fire without destroying itself and survive two casts of Blizzaga. We couldn't even freeze it."

"You idiots!"

"Eh?" Leon and Cloud blinked in confusion before Yuffie bonked both sword wielders on their heads.

"Ow!"

Rolling her eyes at her friends for jumping to conclusion, Yuffie ran through the mist, parting her way to make sure Natsu was fine. He did take on two of the strongest ice spells they had on them, she was surprised that he hadn't been turned to a block of jagged ice. His flames must have been something else. At least they were able to put out the fire.

Making her way to the center, Yuffie caught the pink haired boy just as he was about to fall. In her arms, the ninja was glad to see he had only passed out from the attack. After all he must of gone through he deserved some rest.

"What were you guy's thinking?" she pouted as the steam died down to reveal the boy in her arms. Both men scratched their cheeks as they looked away in embarrassment. How the hell were they suppose to know it wasn't a Heartless? No human should be able to bath in flames for crying out loud! "Now he's out cold. Though I guess it's better this way." she said sadly, getting the two to raise a brow of confusion.

"Mind telling us what's going on?" Cloud nudged his head at the pink boy, sighing as noted the keyblade in his grip before it disappeared in a beam of light, "And why the guy was holding a keyblade?" he frowned.

Leon face palmed at the sight, shaking his head from the upcoming headache, "Not another one. Why is that we're the ones to always meet the keywielders when they start their journey? And this one looks like he can turn into a human candle stick. Perfect, just perfect." Swore to Kami that if that kid suddenly went off into a flame stick again while they were carrying him and he burned his awesome leather jacket, their was going to be hell to pay.

"I don't know." Yuffie innocently shrugged, making the two fall flat on their face in shock. Didn't anyone ever tell the kid to not talk to strangers? "I just found him falling from the sky, like Sora. Then I found out that he's from another world, got attacked by Heartless, then, well, you pretty much witnessed what happened next." she finished with a sad frown.

"The kid broke down?" Cloud could understand that. It wasn't everyday that your world and everyone you loved with were swallowed in darkness, never to be seen again. Still, he hadn't seen anyone break down in such a way before. He was definitely interesting, he'd never seen anyone clad themselves in flames before without turning to cinders.

Yuffie nodded, "More like erupted really. And thanks to you guys," she added with some attitude, getting the two to sigh, "he's knocked out cold. I don't think we can get anything else out of him till he's back on his feet."

"Well we need him up soon." the blonde haired SOLDER said before closing his eyes and making his way back from where he came, "Now that a new Keyblade wielder has been chosen, Heartless attacks are going to be on the rise again. I wouldn't be surprised if the Organization is already on the move, it seems every time they start up again, the Keyblade chooses a new hero. Which means we need to know how he got the thing, and get him to Yin Sid's place as soon as possible."

He didn't like it. He finally thought they had reached some peace. Yeah, there were still Heartless popping out from time to time, and there was still conflict, but it was as close to peace as people like them could get. Now that the Heartless were making a comeback, and the idiots in the emo black cloaks were going to be poking their noses in others hearts again, their peace was as good as gone.

Leon nodded his head in agreement as he and Yuffie followed, the ninja girl picking the pink haired Keyblader on her back, "I guess we can bring him back to our place till he wakes up. Hopefully Aerith has come back to heal the wounds on the kid. Looks like he might have been in the middle of something before his world was devoured by the darkness."

At least this one looked like he could fight. Before Sora had mastered the Keyblade in his own way, the kid was still learning how to properly fight the Heartless. He had some skill, and he had the talent, but he was still green in using his new powers. This guy definitely had the look of a fighter, so hopefully he wouldn't need much training.

Oh, he had training alright. Training in the destructive arts of blowing shit up.

Static.

Natsu frowned in his sleep, struggling as what he could only guess were nightmares plagued his mind. But the nightmare came in lapses of clarity along with static interfering with the big picture. He rustled the covers over him, sweating slightly as his mind was plagued by the bad dream. The voices being the only thing coming to him clearly.

'Natsu!'

'Dammit! We can't hold this thing back any longer!'

'Everyone! Don't give up! We have to keep fighting!'

'I'm sorry, Natsu.'

'It's alright! No matter what, we'll make it! Just don't give up!'

'We're doomed. It's over, sorry.'

The island they stood on was crumbling, the skies became pure as the darkest void, and lightning rained down on the world. He could see pieces of what happened next. The giant Heartless was burning in golden flames, falling apart as it disintegrated in ink black mist. Then the world was attacked by fissures, letting loose the tiny Heartless Shadows to crawl out like ants and devour everything in their paths. They fought, then the images broke off into more static, lapsing into scenes of Team Light struggling against the insane numbers coming at them like a wall of darkness pushing them back, and then they began to fall before them, only for a bright white light to blind them all. And then, the worse bit of the nightmare he could see, a figure enveloped in another light stood before them, protecting them from the onslaught of Heartless, smiling before they were swallowed by the numbers, lost in the sea of Heartless.

'No!' Natsu yelled inside his dreams, fighting in his sleep even more violently. 'Please, don't go! Stop!'

Another figure in a golden appeared next, this time he could actually make out their appearance within the light. A blonde platinum haired girl, with fairy like wings on her head, and the softest g

green eye's, stood before him as fell on his knee's, the world he loved so much torn to pieces around him by the darkness within Kingdom Hearts.

'Go, young Dragon Slayer. We give our hearts to you, until the day light once again shines up us all. We are here, in your dreams. Oh, great Keyblade wielder, know that you're never alone.'

"I SAID STOP!" nearly jumping off the bed he was in, Natsu woke up from his nightmare, shouting to no one as the images left him head.

Natsu panted heavily as sweat rolled down his forehead. The nightmares were so real, and sadly, they probably were. Everything from the moment they stood up to the giant Heartless was a complete blank for some reason. Now it seemed they were coming back in pieces in his sleep. But the memories that came back were showing him just how hopeless they were. Even with the odd new sword everything was falling apart before him.

So, what was the point in wielding the damn thing if he couldn't do anything to stop that monster from eating the heart of their world? What wast the point of having it now that everyone was gone? Why the hell was he here if there was nothing he could do now that his world was swallowed by the darkness? Why was here now?

His eye's dulled as everything began to settle into reality. He sat up slowly, not paying any mind to the bandages wrapped around his waist, forehead, back, and arms, as he scanned the room he was sleeping in. It was well sized room, most likely a guest room, a couple of seats here and there and a table, with his bed set in the right side corner of the room next to the window.

'Yuffie.' The ninja girl. She must of taken him into here place or something after he was hit by what he guessed was an ice spell, a powerful one at that. For second he it felt like his whole body was about to be frozen solid if it weren't for his emotions fueling his flames.

"Eh, I could of sworn I heard screaming for a second?"

Natsu's ears twitched at the sound of a voice and the door to the room creaking opening. From the door a man dressed like one of those old mages back in Earthland stepped in. He was an old man, white hair and long beard along with small glasses on his nose wearing a blue long wizard garb and pointy hat.

"Oh? I see that you've finally woken up, young wizard." the old man smiled softly as he made his way towards Natsu's bed.

"Wizard? I'm a mage, old man." Natsu rose an eyebrow in curiosity at the old guy. How did he know he practiced magic?

The old man waved his hand at the matter as he pulled a chair to sit close the pink haired man, "Wizard, mage, magician, it's all the same thing honestly. We all practice magic, albeit in different ways, but we're all brothers in the ways of magic. If anything, the only difference between us is that you don't use a wand or a rose wood to perform your magical arts."

"If I tried using wood, or a wand or whatever, it be burned to cinders in my hand in less than a second." Natsu said bluntly before looking down at the hand openly stretched out towards him. He looked back at the old wizard with slight confusion before realizing what he wanted.

He shook the old man's hand, making the old man's smile widen as he introduced himself.

"The name's Merlin. How about you, what's your name?"

"Natsu, Natsu Dragneel." Natsu smiled.

"Well, pleasure to meet you, Natsu. If you're wondering where you are, you are currently residing in our makeshift headquarters for defending against the Heartless, or in other words, my home."

"So, this is your place, huh?" Natsu scratched his head, twitching slightly as he was reminded by his wounds. Damn, did Zero have one hell of a kick. Didn't help that he was curb stomping his ass either.

Merlin chuckled slightly as he noticed the pink haired man wince. Must of still been hurting from his injuries. Well he had trick for that.

Raising the wooden staff he had concealed in his robes, Merlin raised it high in the air before Natsu was enveloped in a bright green emerald light.

"Curaga!"

A fountain of relief coursed through Natsu's body, the wounds from his previous fights dulling until the stings and aches faded away. Could of sworn he also saw church bells ringing above his head for a moment there too.

"There, does that feel better?" Merlin questioned as he raised down his staff.

Natsu flexed his fist, the one that had endured Zero's drilling beam of magic, noticing with a surprise that it felt fine, almost like it had never been damaged in the first place. "Actually, yeah. I feel awesome!" he beamed with a large grin on his face.

Merlin was glad to hear that, "Good. When you had first arrived I wasn't present at the time to heal your wounds. Aerith normally would of taken my place in healing you, but she was also out fetching me some supplies that I had run out of. Thank goodness the rest were adept in the basic knowledge of treating wounds. Seems as if you've had a rough time." the old wizard mused as he recalled how frantic Yuffie had been when he arrived.

"Old man, you have no idea." Natsu deadpanned as he began to stretched his healed body. "Try fighting a guy hell bent on reducing everything into nothing because it gave him a hard on. Then after drilling his ass into some odd weird cathedral door the size of a palace, you have to face some monster with hollow yellow eyes and a heart shaped hole in its chest that towered everything in sight when you were practically running on empty along with an army of creepy, ant like, monsters."

"That. . .doesn't sound pleasant."

"I don't recommend it. It was fun though, minus all the losing my friends to darkness." Natsu chuckled humorlessly as he rested his head in his hand.

Merlin nodded his head with a sad smile, "I see. You're another victim to the Darkness, aren't you? Must of lost your world too, just like the rest of us."

Natsu gripped the sheets to his bed remembering the last moment of what happened to his friends before his memory went buggy on him. "What the hell is this Darkness? I've never seen monsters like that before in my entire life. They literally came out of nowhere with no purpose other then to attack us like some berserk freaks. All because of that stupid door hidden in Nirvana."

"Hmm, seems to me that the door you're referring to was a human made Kingdom Hearts. Whoever created it was most likely trying to attain the power within, I don't see any other reason why it would be created other then that. And once it's open, the darkness held with in it too will be unleashed. It's most likely the case why you have never seen a Heartless before until then." Merlin hypothesized as he thought back to all that he had learned from his past experiences.

"Seeing as you had no idea what a Heartless was, you most likely don't know what the door was either, correct?" he got a nod from the young mage, allowing him to continue, "What you saw was the door to Kingdom Hearts, created from the hearts of millions. It's a mysterious power that seems to hold light and darkness within. I'm still iffy on the details, but from what I've seen it's a power well sought by many a people for their own desires. And it seems from your little details that you broke said door."

Natsu's heart dropped as realization struck, "So, it's my fault that my world is gone?" he slightly trembled.

The old man waved his hands in a panicked frenzy noticing the dark cloud hanging over the pink head, "No,no,no! Even if you had not destroyed the door, the darkness would of still leaked out and eventually let loose. Trust me, it's not your fault." he said soothingly as he laid a comforting hand on the openly gritting mage.

"But it is! There had to be something I could of done!" Natsu spat, clenching his eye's shut from the memories rushing his head.

"Even when I had gotten that weird sword key or whatever, it still wasn't enough! I made them all believe that we could get out of there with our lives, that we could all go back home in one piece! But all I was doing was spouting utter bullshit!" Tears sprang out from the corner of his eyes, quickly wiping them away with his arm before they fell, "What the fuck am I suppose to do now? I don't even have a home to go back to anymore. I don't even have a friend to go back to anymore." he bared his teeth, doing his best to hold back his anger.

"Weird sword key?" Merlin's interest was now peaked. It was sad what happened to the boy, indeed it was, but they had all gone through the same pain. It would heal like any other wound, but leave a scar within his heart. He looked like a strong man, so he'd find a way through the pain. Though what he said about a key shaped weapon caught his curiosity. Their was only one key shaped weapon that he knew of and that was the-

Natsu nodded his dully before outstretching his arm to the side, materializing his dragon flame themed keyblade into his bandaged hands.

"Yeah, this useless hunk of cool scrap metal." Natsu muttered as he glared at his new weapon.

Keyblade. Oh, boy. Did this open up a whole new textbook sized set of problems. The last time a new keyblade wielder fell into their hands lead to a two year battle against the Heartless, Nobodies, and Organization IIX that they were lucky to of survived. And it looked like the struggle was to begin again.

Merlin rubbed the bridge of his nose, trying not to sigh as he looked back at the young mage. "So, you're the new keyblade wielder chosen by the Keyblade. I would of never thought that it would chose a new hero so soon after defeating Xemnas and his croons. Which only means that the threat was never truly settled with. Boy, will Sora and Riku be steamed when they find out about this."

"Eh? What are you talking about, old man?" Natsu said with confusion, squinting his eye's at Merlin as he sweated nervously.

"Well, in all honestly, you're not the first keyblade wielder we have come across. There were two others before you. Both of them fought against the Darkness to bring their friends and their world back. And, if I can recall right, their both studying under Yin Sid's to earn their mark as Masters about now. Maybe they can help us with what's to come." Merlin mused to himself.

"Wait." Natsu's eyes widened as he listened to the wizards words, "Did you say that those other two guys swinging this blade were able to save their friends and their world? How?!" the Dragon Slayer beamed with a spark of hope.

Hell, it looked like there was still some hope. If what the old man was saying was right, then maybe he could save everyone from the Darkness. He was a Dragon Slayer after all. If he could slay ancient dragons then some darkness should be a piece of cake. Not to mention it looked like his flames have been augmented by Jellal's Flames of Rebuke. He'd like to see the poor saps trying to get in his way.

"Hmm, you might be onto something, boy." the old man nodded. Realization dawned on his face as he thought about the mage's predicament.

Many a worlds had been lost to the darkness during it infestation. There had been no way of reaching any of their homes, but once the Sora and his friends had defeated Ansem, Organization IIIX, the Heartless and the Nobodies that followed them, the worlds gradually began to restore to their former states. Though, he frowned, most of their own homes hadn't been returned. Maybe some worlds couldn't be brought back, too damaged by the darkness to ever resurface. It was a sad thought.

But it didn't mean their homes were lost completely. Worlds were being rediscovered as they spoke. It was only a matter of time that they find their world again.

Merlin shook his head with a sigh. The Heartless had returned again was the problem. And Sora and Riku were busy at the moment. Yen Sid had strictly instructed that they not be disturbed as they underwent their training. The boy alone couldn't stop what was to come alone.

"Though I'm not sure. They were one of the lucky ones to return to their homes after the ordeal. It's not assured that your world will return. And if it does it may take years for it to come back. You may not even find it scattered around the cosmos of the stars."

"Like I give two shits about the details!" Natsu shouted angrily. He slammed the back of his fist coated in flames at the wall by his bed, "From what you're saying, it's not impossible to get my friends back from whatever has taken over them and my home! Apparently this has happened before and you all have been able to stop it once. So it shouldn't be a problem if you knew how to stop it."

The wizened wizard looked sternly back at the enraged man. Mental note, have someone repair the scorched dent in the guest room. "Was no simple task, Natsu. Many had lost their lives to the Heartless and Nobodies. How else do you think Kingdom Hearts had been created, not once, but twice? The only way we had stopped it was heading to the main front of the enemies operation and take down the one in charge. And that wasn't even us, it was two other Keyblade wielders who had spent a good part of two years fighting the threat. And that's after going through their own tragedies." he shook his head sadly at the thought. They lost friends, were forced to fight each other as they were on two different paths, nearly lost their lives more times then one, and faced their own demons.

"I don't care about that!" fighting back the wetness in his eyes, the Dragon Slayer slouched against the bed board. He swallowed the lump in his throat before speaking again, his voice trembling as looked at his hands, "I made a mistake. I don't care what you say, I'm the one who broke the damn door by smashing Zero into that thing. I promised them all that we would be alright, that we could fight what was coming with a stupid grin on my face!" Tears trickled down his chin as Natsu couldn't fight them no longer.

He lied. He lied to them. Their final moments were of him installing hope into them. Before they were swallowed by a hopeless situation.

What kind of friend failed to protect their friends?

"I'm a lyre. And I'm the reason why their gone. So," his eye's hardened as he furiously rubbed away the tears. "That's why, no matter how long it takes, I'm going to save them. I don't care about the Darkness, Heartless, Organization something, or Kingdom whatever! If taking down a few power hungry idiots is all it takes to bring my home back then that won't be a problem! I'm a Fairy Tail mage! This is what we do!" he roared with a fire building within him as slapped his hand over his guilds mark.

Such spirit. Merlin stroked his beard with intrigue. The boy had will. Even faced with such desperate times the boy didn't stop to grieve for long. And from the looks of it he wasn't wet behind the ears as Sora was when he had started his journey. Seemed to be a fighter if the way he had nearly smashed a hole in his wall was anything to take by.

"You do seem determined, I'll give you that." he nodded with a smile, "But, as I said, it's no simple task. If you're certain about the path you're willing to embark you will be faced with enemies you've never faced before. Alone, you may not be able to handle such challenges."

Alone? Him? Yeah, right.

Natsu tossed the covers of his bed to the side as he got off the bed. Despite the bandages and gauze wrapped around his body he was fine. That Curaga spell thing took away all the pain and even closed some of his wounds. He didn't need to be in bed any longer then he was. He was always rearing to go on the next adventure.

"I'm never alone." Natsu smiled proudly. He gazed at the red guild stamp on his shoulder fondly. Didn't matter what was going or where he was. He was never alone.

"My friends are with me, right here!"

He thumped his chest with his fist, grinning all the while as he stood in front of the old wizard.

Completely oblivious of the blue light lighting his fist.

"Oh? What do we have here?" That didn't look normal. Merlin scratched his chin in thought as he watched the light continue to grow till even the pink haired mage took notice of the situation.

"What the hell?"

The light suddenly blinked till it seemed to collapsed within his fist with a twinkling sound. And upon opening said fist Natsu looked down in confusion of the odd little trinket settled in his palm. A blue crystal ball that fit perfectly in his palm with the Fairy Tail crest imprinted on its surface. Looking closely the guild mark had a white wing design to it. And for some reason, just looking at it made him feel happy.

He raised the crystal ball closer to his face as his eye's squinted in inspection. "What is this thing? It looks like a lacrima."

"A lacrima? What is that?"

"A magical container back in my world. We used them to power some of our devices and even to fight with. Their crystals fueled by magic. But," he frowned as he tossed it up and down in his hand, "I don't carry them with me. I don't even know Requip magic to summon them out of thin air."

Summon?

"Hmm, I might have an idea as to what that crystal might be. May I?" quickly catching the ball in his hand as the boy tossed to him, Merlin began to inspect the little oddity. Couldn't possibly be what he thought it may be, could it? He'd never heard of them being created out of thin air before. This needed studying.

"I'd like to look it over for a bit, if you'd allow me, Natsu. In the mean time you can help yourself to anything you need while you adjust to our little world here. Mi casa, es su case, as they say." he chuckled as he pocketed the ball in his robes.

Natsu shrugged, "Go ahead. I've no idea what that thing does, but it does look cool. Who knows? It just might help me on my journey." he grinned, stopping Merlin as he made his way out the room.

"You're still insistent on saving your world? You don't even know the enemies location, nor the enemies you will be facing." he said in disbelief.

"Meh, I'll figure it out somehow. Besides, you all seem to know who's asses need to be kicked. I'm sure you guys can help me out."

Merlin sighed as he shook his head with a wistful smile. Ah, the wonders of youth.

"I guess I can send a message to Yin Sid. While the other two are busy with their training, I'm sure he can spare a few moments for a new Keyblade wielder such as yourself. Can't have you going on your adventure without a direction to by." he smiled before leaving the mage by himself.

Is what he was planning on doing before opening said door to the room to find someones head pressed against the wood. Said person fell on their face with an audible smack.

"Dammit! My covers been blown!"

"You're a ninja, Yuffie." Merlin said tiredly as he rubbed his forehead, "Out of all your basic instincts and teachings, you decided to hide outside the room and listen in by pressing your ear against the door. How is that stealth?"

"Because no one would ever see it coming?" she laughed embarrassingly.

"It's not that no one would ever see it coming, it's that no one would ever think someone would do it. Not with a brain."

"Yeah, yeah." she waved her hand nonchalantly at the old man before looking back at the pink haired mage looking on in confusion. She grinned as stars popped out of her eyes, "Did I hear something about an adventure?"

Dear god, help the poor mage.

Chapter 2, Complete! Finally!

Things are now moving forward. Natsu is on his way to a new adventure, with a ninja wanting to tag along for the ride. Heartless activity has begun to spike, and new types are on their way. And the odd crystal ball popping out of no where into Natsu's hand. What is it? What can it do? And more importantly, when can we find out!?

When I got the damn time, that's when.

So, as I was writing this, I was talking to my little brother, another fan of anime and games. He hopes to animate and all that crap. Likes to draw and do all that. You'd think we'd work together and junk. Ha! We like to kick another's ass for shits and giggles. Not exactly a team. Anyway, we were talking about crossovers and all that when we started bouncing around crappy crossover ideas for kicks. And my god is his head fucked. The ideas, so cringe worthy. He definitely won the game of who could come up with the worst ideas along with plot and pairings. I'll give you an idea of one; Kingdom Hearts and Call of Duty. Key hole is in the presidents office, battles in slow motion cam, and the final boss is a Russian soldier with a zombie mob that so happen to be heartless.

That's not the worst of them though. I shudder at this ideas.

The point being this, we are free to write whatever the hell we want. But some things are meant to never be written. Though an idea did spark in my head.

Should probably finish Omega Ruby before doing anything about it though. God, do I miss finishing games.

What about you? What's the worst you can think off? I'm sure you're all capable of thinking of cringe worthy crap too.

Anyway, remember to read and review. It's common courtesy, dammit.

NeoShadows fading in and out.
