So the restaurant mentioned in this story I am completely making up, if it happens to have the same name as a real restaurant that is just coincidence. Also anyone also reading Wedding Bands I am working on the next chapter of that as well. I am off work tomorrow so hopefully I will have it up by then. As always enjoy and please review! :)
NAVAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIVE SERVICE
Gibbs didn't know where his agents had disappeared too but he had a suspicion. Exiting the elevator just off Abby's lab, Gibbs opened his mouth when he saw his youngest agent storming towards him. The words didn't fall until McGee had placed him hand on Gibbs' chest and pushed him back into the elevator.
"What the hell are you doing McGee?"
Tim slammed his hand against the emergency break button the second they started moving and turned to look at his boss, a slight hint of anger showing.
"Why?"
An eyebrow raised. "Why what?"
"Why did you come to my apartment Sunday night?"
Gibbs swallowed what he really wanted to say. "I don't know what you're talking about McGee."
"The hell you don't. I watched you pull up. I watched you head into the building. I waited for you to knock but you never did. You just left. Why?"
Gibbs grit his teeth and refused to answer. He couldn't tell his agent he had secretly been falling in love with him since that first day in Norfolk. As they stared at each other Tim's face softened and he smiled.
"I know Tony came to your house Friday night. I don't know what he said but I have an idea and I know it has something to do with why you showed up at my doorstep Sunday." Tim stepped into Gibbs' personal space, never letting go of eye contact. "I have been waiting for you to break rule twelve for years."
Eyes widened as Gibbs watched green eyes and the words registered with his brain. Before he could react Tim's soft lips were on his chapped ones. It only took his brain a second to response and suddenly he was shoving Tim back against the closed elevator door, lips never leaving the other man's.
Tim's hands reached up to wrap around Gibbs' neck, pulling the older man closer, trying to deepen the kiss. It wasn't until Gibbs ran his hand down Tim's back to his ass and squeezed that Tim broke the kiss and slightly pushed Gibbs away from him. Not by much but so they could look at each other better. The smile was still plastered on Tim's face and Gibbs mirrored his reaction.
"As much as I'd love to continue this right here, right now, I really don't want to give Abby a show."
"What?"
Tim laughed. "Abby has a camera in here. Ever since the rumor about Agents Tyler and Ramirez. Doesn't have audio but the picture is great, even in this lighting."
Gibbs snorted and leaned his forehead against Tim's, eyes closed, arms wrapped around the younger man's waist.
"We are also in the middle of a case, so.." Tim gave him one last kiss, pulling away before Gibbs could deepen it, finally fully pushing the older man away from him gently with a smile. "After this case is closed I want to take you on a date. A real date."
"I'm not really one for romantic McG... Tim."
Tim tilted his head slightly, the smile growing wider and shrugged. "No need for it to be romantic, I just want to get to know the man outside of the job. The real you."
Gibbs thought for a minute before nodding. "Okay."
Nodding back Tim dove back in for another kiss and mumbled against the older man's lips. "So the moment this case is finished."
Gibbs kissed him back but this time he was the one to break it off before they could get much further, his hand cupping Tim's cheek. "Then let's get this case solved today."
The beaming smile was answer enough and after one final peck on the lips the elevator was moving again to return the two agents back to the bullpen.
Back down in Abby's lab the goth was cheering and bouncing on her feet. She had been reading Tim's lips, trying to guess and fill in Gibbs' responses as his back had been to the camera. Tony stood next to her, stunned.
"I can't believe Probie just did that." Tony frowned. "Why the hell didn't he do that years ago!"
"Who cares. He finally did it. They are going to be so happy together!" Abby had finally wrapped her arms around Tony's shoulders. Still bouncing he started moving with her. It wasn't until his phone rang that Abby stopped and let go of him so he could answer. He didn't even get a word out before Gibbs was talking.
"Tell Abby to take that camera down and then get your ass back up here."
Tony did as he was told, using the stairs instead of the elevator as he ran for his desk. Already knowing what was said in the elevator about needing to solve the case before Tim would take Gibbs out, Tony got right to work without a word. He did however glance at both Gibbs and McGee, both of them smiling at each other. Smiling to himself, Tony engrossed himself in his computer.
It wasn't until Friday that the case was officially solved and all paperwork had been turned in. Though the team had to work that weekend, Gibbs told them unless they got another case he didn't want to see them until 0900. Tony and Ziva quickly packed their things to leave but Tony froze at the elevator as he watched Tim step up to Gibbs' desk. He sneaked closer to hear the hushed words.
Tim looked down at his watch. "It's 7:30, say 8:30? Meet me at Bella Rosa's?"
Gibbs had heard of the restaurant but had never been himself, he knew you needed a reservation weeks in advance. "Tim that.."
Tim shook his head. "I know it's a fancy place but I know the owners and he has a table for us already."
"Okay." Gibbs stood and grabbed his coat. "8:30 then."
"Good." Tim seemed to bounce away and for the elevator.
Gibbs didn't follow but Tony did. They were the only two in the elevator as they headed for the garage and their cars.
"I have been trying to make reservations as Bella Rosa's for years, how do you know the owners?"
Tim smiled but continued to look straight ahead. "Because it's my restaurant."
"WHAT!?"
Laughing Tim turned to his friend and co-worker. "About two years ago the owner, Alan Beckwith and his wife Marjorie owned and ran it, started it seventeen years ago after their last kid went off to college. When Marjorie fell ill they almost lost the place trying to pay her medical bills. A certain.." Tim faltered for a moment before continuing. "Mr. Gemcity offered to buy the place but kept Alan and Marjorie, after she got better, to run the place. Nobody knows and I'd like to keep it that way. If you ever need reservations just let me know."
Tony was smiling by the end of Tim's quick statement before clapping him on the back as the elevator stopped and the doors opened into the garage. "Your secret is safe with me Probie." They exited the elevator and headed for their cars in silence, only broken when Tony turned and started walking backwards towards his own car down the row. "Hey I'm going to make the same promise to Gibbs tomorrow. You hurt him, I'll kick your ass."
The smile on his face had Tim laughing. "I wouldn't have it any other way DiNozzo."
"Good, now don't do anything I wouldn't do." Tony waggled his eyebrows.
"That leaves a lot to be had, Tony. Though I am pretty sure you'd never jump in bed with another man, let alone our boss so I obviously have to do something you wouldn't."
Tony sputtered and stumbled and fell into a car trying to catch himself. Tim just laughed as he reached his own car and unlocked the door. "Goodnight DiNozzo."
"Night McGee."
Neither man saw Gibbs watching and listening from next to the elevator. He waited until both men were driving away before moving, heading for his own car to head home and get ready for his date with Tim McGee.
