Chapter 2
"The Yule Ball will take place on Christmas Eve. This Ball is for fourth years and up, but you may bring a younger studant if you wish." Dumbledores words ran through my head as I sat alone in the library. I really want to ask Cho to the ball, but what if she doesn't like me? 'She won't like you, you're a nerd, and she's popular. Anyway, what would your friends think? Or your parents? Your reputation would be ruined.' The little voice in my head did have a point. What would Harry and Ron think? Harry had kissed Cho before, and he still liked her a little. 'But what about Ron? It's blatantly clear that he has a crush on you, and a big one at that.' I thought about this as I left the library. I hadn't done much studying, but with all of the things on my mind it was clear I wasn't going to get anymore done.
I tried to stop thinking about Cho, but she seemed to be everywhere I went. And with everyone talking about the ball and who they're going to ask, it made it almost impossible to forget about her for even five minutes. Harry was getting suspicious. He noticed something was up when I went to a Ravenclaw quidditch match, and Gryffindor wasn't even playing. "You hate quidditch Hermione, there must be a reason you went to a match volunteraly, especially if it wasn't a match we were in." I wasn't listening as he quizzed me, I was watching as Cho came into the hall with two of her friends, her silky hair shimmering in the light. "Hermione!" "Huh? Sorry, what were you saying Harry?" He just shook his head, said "nevermind," and left it at that. I was glad I didn't have to find an excuse as to why I wasn't listening. I hated lying, especially to my friends, but I couldn't let anyone know about my crush on Cho Chang.
I know this was short, but it's better than nothing. I just wanted to write this chapter to say thank you to everyone who has been reading and reviewing. The next chapter will hopefully be longer. Once again, thatnks for reading.
