I know I'm really late and I know it's hardly a proper chapter, but seeing as it was half-written, I just wanted to finish it before diving in. A proper chapter soon, I hope!

Chapter 1- Untouched Paradise

"So let me get this straight," Jack started as they walked on the beach of the planet known to the Earthlings as P5C-794, "We can go anywhere we want and do anything we want?"

"Well, not exactly. Oma and the others will stop us if we interfere." Jack raised his eyebrows. "If we try to, um... change the results of something happening, which we couldn't change when we were... not ascended."

"So that means... we can go anywhere we want?"

Daniel hesitated. "In a way. Look, Jack, this is about... understanding. About learning and becoming better. I haven't been here for long but I'm already feeling-"

"Do you remember the planet with the beaches and the girls?" Jack cut him off, obviously not listening to anything the archeologist was saying.

"What?" Daniel stopped in surprise.

"M6-something. They were really excited to have us... remember?" Daniel kept staring at him. "Oh, come on, it'll be fun!"

"Jack-"

"Daniel." Jack's voice was somewhat threatening. "Somebody's gotta teach you how to have fun."

"I'm having fun." Daniel took a deep breath. In the few weeks since he's been gone he already forgot what it's like to have an argument with Jack O'Neill. "Just... try that, okay? Try to explore, to think, to use everything you've got. Stop pretending you're stupid and think!"

"I am thinking."

"About the beaches." Daniel's voice was sarcastic.

"What else is there to think about?" Jack grinned. Daniel groaned in frustration. "Trust me, this is gonna be fun."

"Well, have your fun, then." Daniel turned around to leave. Even though they didn't have to walk like that, they both automatically did. Both of them spent the better part of their lives as humans; adjusting to the idea of having no body was somewhat difficult.

"Oh, no, Danny boy." Jack caught up with him and placed an arm around his shoulders. "You are going to join me."

"Jack." Daniel's voice was serious. "I'm not joining this... whatever this is."

"Come on, Daniel. Those girls are gonna be very happy to see us."

Groaning again, Daniel gave up. Maybe, just maybe, if he gives up now, Jack might listen later on. "Okay. Just this once. But after that you're going to listen to me."

"Of course I am." Daniel stopped himself from groaning again. Deep inside his mind he knew it would take a long time before Jack would actually listen to him. He hardly ever did when they were human; why would he now?

"Just remember we're not allowed to do anything," He warned as Jack turned back towards the Stargate.

A smile hovered over Jack's lips; the same smile Daniel saw whenever the Colonel was about to do something fun. "Who said we need to do anything?"

"Just tell me this isn't the good life."

Jack glanced at Daniel, who was sitting on the beach next to him, trying to ignore the music and dancing all around them. Jack, on the other hand, was grinning at one of the young women around, who was looking at him flirtatiously from the other side of the beach.

"This isn't the good life." Daniel said dryly. Jack winked at the woman. Rolling his eyes, Daniel muttered, "Come on, Jack. We've been here long enough."

"We've barely been here at all." Daniel rolled his eyes again. "You know what I really miss?"

Knowing he wouldn't like the answer, the archeologist mumbled, "What?"

"Beer."

"Of course you do." He shook his head slightly in disbelief. Why on earth did he ever think he had a chance of turning Jack into a deep, thinking human being? "Look, Jack, would you just think-?"

"Ah." Jack lifted a finger, cutting off Daniel's words. "We said you're going to have some fun."

"We also said you're going to listen, but I hardly see this happening," Daniel retorted dryly.

If looks could kill, not even Oma could save Daniel in that moment. Not that it was anything new, though; they exchanged that look dozens of times a week. "Daniel, you are going to lie down and enjoy this thing." Daniel opened his mouth to argue, but Jack waved his finger, cutting him off. "You're going to shut up, lie down and enjoy this thing."

"Jack-"

"Look at her," Jack ignored him, tilting his head towards another woman, who was walking towards the two. "Isn't she hot?"

Rolling his eyes again, Daniel turned to look at the woman. He had to admit that while there was something foreign about her, there was also something familiar about her. In a way, she reminded him of Sarah. He couldn't not to feel some emotions rekindling at the sight.

Seeing how focused Daniel was, Jack grinned to himself and nudged the archeologist forward. Daniel hurried to get up, automatically brushing inexistent sand off his clothes. It was easy to forget he had no body when he was surrounded by human beings, and with Jack around, it was even easier. Not that he knew why, but it was.

Seeing Daniel was invested in that woman, Jack turned back to the woman he's been looking at. Even though he knew nothing could actually happen – they had no physical bodies, after all – he didn't mind. He wasn't looking for a relationship, not when Carter was still waiting back on Earth. He was only looking for some fun.

Hey, if Daniel could tell him how to have some sort of a temporary physical body – or anything like that – he wouldn't mind going fishing instead. But seeing as he couldn't, he had no other choice, did he?

Of course not, He told himself, smirking. After all, there was nothing else he could do, right?

And sooner or later, Daniel would give in. He knew he would. He never could say no to Jack for too long.
