Prologue

Grissom was sitting behind his desk. He looked at the piece of paper in front of him. He had known it all along, but seeing proof made it fell so… real. He wasn't used to this, it was all new for him. He decided he had to tell her, but how? She wouldn't understand, she would go crazy and tell him he was wrong. But he wasn't wrong, the test wasn't.

Sara was walking to Grissoms office. She was finally going to ask him out. He had turned down all her invites, but this time she wouldn't stop until he said yes. She realized she was at his office door and came in. "would you like to have dinner with me?" she asked. She was surprised when he said yes, but didn't liked the thing he said after that, "we need to talk"

They were sitting in a restaurant somewhere on the strip. Sara wanted to know what he wanted to talk with her about, but he hadn't said anything, so she just assumed it was something he said to make it easier to say yes and that he had forgotten it already.

Little did she knew Grissom was just thinking about a way to tell her. When they had finished their dinner, Grissom offered to bring her home. He did it because he still had to talk to her, but she thought he finally realized he loved her. So when they were at her apartment, she asked him to come with her. He did that because of the talk, but for her it was yet another sign of love.

When they were inside, they sat and talked about work. Sara placed her hand on his leg. When he realized that, he stood up and walked away a little. She was shocked. She thought he wanted the same. "don't you love me?" she asked. Grissom was quiet for a minute, thinking of words he could say. After a while he decided to just tell her. "I love you, but not in the way you think" he looked at her and tried to stay calm. "Sara, you're my daughter."
