Game: Mortal Kombat

Gaming Console: XBox 360

Pairing: TsuStar (TsubakixBlack*Star)

I don't own anything

This is written in Tsubaki's POV

"Darn it!" I frown at the screen as my character dies once more. I paused the game and gently put the controller down so that I don't break it and began to pout. "Why does Black*Star make it look so easy?" I mumbled to myself. I know how to fight in real life, but it is much more complicated in a video game; even if it is on beginner.

"Well, it's because I am a God! And God's NEVER lose at Mortal Kombat!" I lifted my head up to see Star, a smirk gracing his features. He has grown much more then before; his height now towering over mine, his face losing the slight baby fat, making him look less like a kid and more like a man. Well, he is turning 18 in a month after all.

"Oh, when did you get home?" I asked as I turned off the XBox.

"Right when you asked yourself how I make MK look so easy." he replied before he walked into the kitchen and grabbed himself a can of Mountain Dew before stalked back to the living room, plopping himself down on one of the cushions on the floor.

"Oh, I see." I looked over at the clock to see that it was almost time for dinner. "Well then, what would you like to eat? I bet you're tired from playing basketball with Soul and Kid," I asked as I went to the fridge to get ingredients out.

"Anything is fine, really..." My meister replied as he finished guzzling his soda, crushed the can with his head and put it on the table. I heaved a sigh as I went to go put it in the recycling bin. "You know, you could put the can in the recycling bin yourself..." I scolded lightly.

"Sorry, I'm just really tired," Was his reply before he turned on the XBox and played Mortal Kombat while I made dinner. As the Udon noodles began to boil, I watched with amazement and slight jealousy as Black*Star flawlessly beat the opponent.

"This is too easy for a God to play," I heard him mumble before he chortled at his own quote. I continued to watch before I finished the noodles and drained them, putting them in seperate bowls for myself and Black*Star.

"What do you want on your Udon?" I called out from the kitchen.

"Just some hot sauce and spring onions is fine," he replied without looking away from the screen. I cringed when Black*Star's character stabbed the opponent; this game was really gory, but I don't know why I want to play it in the first place. I quickly added some beef from last night's leftovers, sesame seed oil and spring onions to my noodles; as well as adding the hot sauce and spring onions to Black*Star's.

"Dinner is ready!" I announced as I placed the bowl and chopsticks on the table before going back to get some drinks. Once I returned, I saw the that Black*Star was patiently waiting for me to join him. I was surprised; usually, he would start eating once I set his meal down.

"You don't have to wait for me, you know," I said hastily as I sat across from him. "I know, but it is un-godlike for me to have to start eating dinner without my goddess." My face grew hot at his comment and I let out a nervous chuckle.

"O-oh," I stuttered quietly as we both began to eat. After dinner was done, Black*Star offered to do the dishes, much to my surprise. "A-are you sure? You don't have to,"

"Yeah, you go ahead and take a bath. You're god will take care of this," he flashed his 'god-like smile' and I smiled warmly. "Thanks," I turned on my heel and headed to the washroom to wash up, thinking about how Black*Star was actually helping as I began to bathe. As I sat in the tub, I think about how much he has changed not only physically, but mentally as well; despite the fact that he still calls himself a god.

Once I finish, see that dishes were washed and put away before I spotted Black*Star snoozing away in his room. I smiled before I brought the blanket up to his chin and gave him a small peck on his forehead before I went to bed myself.

I couldn't stop thinking about that game! Why is it that I want to beat one opponent so badly? So that I can becme as good as Black*Star? No, so that I could impress him? I blushed at that fact. Thinking that a cup of tea will soothe my mind, I slowly got up and went into the kitchen, starting up the kettle.

I prepared my cup and added some green tea as I waited for the kettle to whistle its tune, my eyes keep looking back at the the gaming console. Sighing in frustration and defeat, I brought my tea cup to the small table in the living area and turned on the game, making sure it wasn't loud enough to wake up my sleeping partner. Then again, he was a heavy sleeper, so I wouldn't disturb him as much. I took a small sip of my tea as I set up the game.

I began to play, my determination to win beginning to grow. I've never been this competitive before. I kept playing the game, my eyes never leaving the screen, my blood beginning to boil. I took tentative sips of my tea until it was empty and stifled a yawn, but I wasn't giving up just yet. I lose once again and I felt like smashing the controller on the ground.

"Why does he make it look so easy!" I hissed before a felt a pair of arms wrap my own. I let out a squeak before turning to see a shock of blue.

"Oh, I'm sorry if I woke you," I said with a small blush.

"It's okay, I saw how frustrated my goddess got over this game that I decided to help her." he replied before he positioned himself so that I was between his legs, his strong arms wrapped around my own, his hands over my hands. He then restarted the round.

I watched in amazement as he made my fingers press buttons all over the controller and a smile beamed on my face when I saw my character win without a scratch. "Okay, so you just need to move this and press this button for the finishing move," Black*Star instructed. I nodded and did as he was told and performed the finishing move. I beamed with pride once the game was over.

"I finally did it!" I heard Black*Star chuckle. "It's no problem," he said as he stifled a yawn. I gave him a warm smile and leaned in to kiss him on tne cheek, before he moved his head and met his lips with mine. My eyes were wide, but I closed them and enjoyed the moment before we seperate.

"Thanks for your help," I said before going to bed. "No problem, I'll see you in the morning," he replied before he went to his room and I went into mine.

Maybe Mortal Kombat wasn't so hard after all.

Rochu: Since this is another video game/Soul Eatre related story, I decided to now make a series of video game and fluffy stories for your entertainment. Now, this is only the second prompt. If you would like to suggest a game, gaming console and/or pairing, feel free to PM me any suggestions (I WILL try and do the pairings I hate the most as well...)

Anywho, thanks for reading!
