Keiko looked out the window, feeling awkward considering that fact that she was in the back of a limo, alone, with Sasuke Uchiha. A boy she just met this morning. Hibiki sat in the driver seat, nodding to her as a consolement. She nodded back, fidgeting with the straps of her backpack.
Hibiki smiled sadly, and pulled out of the driveway. He'd feel depressed if he had to ride in the backseat with an Uchiha for 30 minutes. Which was why he was thankful he drove.
I looked at all the passing buildings.
"Sorry." I looked at Sasuke, eyes widened.
"Wh-What?" Sasuke glanced at me from the corner of his eyes.
"I said sorry. What, are you deaf?" He asked. I felt offended.
"Yes. I am. I'm hard-of-hearing! My okasan is deaf! Well, w-was deaf..." I sighed and went back to fidgeting with my backpack. Sasuke sighed and put his head in his hands.
"Sorry. Again." He sighed, exasperated. I looked up at him, smiling fondly.
"My name is Chinatsu Keiko. What's yours?" I held out his hand for him to shake. 'Deja vu.' He smirked.
"Uchiha Sasuke." We shook hands. As we pulled up to the school, I stepped out of the car, waving to Hibiki that it was alright. I turned back to Sasuke.
"By the way... this doesn't mean we're friends. Just... accquaintances." He nodded and walked off towards a group of guys, sitting under a Sakura tree. Some of them pointed at me, obviously asking why we just came out of the same car. Hinata Hyuuga waved to me, but I didn't notice, because I was still looking at Sasuke and his group of friends, highly amused at the tackling the blonde was doing. Still looking over my shoulder, I tripped, and fell on my face.
"AUGHH!" I yelled as I felt my self falling. My mesh shirt was ripped at the elbows, which were bleeding. I blame the gravel roads. Who puts gravel roads for a school!? Hinata bit her lip, and pulled me up, then someone else grabbed my other arm. It was Neji. I raised an eyebrow.
"Where'd you come from?" I worked to get the remaining gravel off my elbows.
"My moms belly. No, I came from over there. I saw that you came out of the same limo as Sasuke Uchiha. I thought you didn't take charity from others?" He picked some of the smaller pieces that I couldn't get out, and Hinata did the same with my other elbow. I brushed their hands away.
"His mom forced me. I couldn't say no." Neji nodded, and chuckled.
"Well, now everyone at my group thinks that you're dating, or are friends. They're actually having a debate over it." I nodded, giggling.
(Groups P.O.V)
"Sasuke! Neji's hitting on your girlfriend!" Naruto yelled out, pointing at Neji and Keiko. Sasuke looked up at them, bored.
"She's not his girlfriend. And he's not hitting on her. Hinata and her are friends, from what I can tell." Shikamaru concluded.
"Well, that's good! She's hot! I want to ask her out!" Kiba yelled out Earning the stares of everyone in the courtyard. Keiko raised an eyebrow and asked Neji something, pointing to Kiba. He shrugged and said something, making both Hinata and her giggle.
(Keiko's P.O.V)
"What the hell is up with him?" I pointed at Kiba.
"Who, Kiba? He's probably ranting on about how hot you are." Both Hinata and I giggled.
I was good-looking, but I wouldn't say hot. But hey, I was modest. Very modest. I turned back to Hinata.
"So, where's your boooyfriiend??" Hinata blushed, deeply.
"H-he's not m-my b-boyfriend." I smiled, right. All of a sudden I felt someone pop up behind me.
"Hi! My name's Naruto! I wanted to know, are you and Sasuke dating?" Sasuke rolled his eyes looking at Naruto, and Hinata blushed when he stood next to her. I smirked.
'Uhh, no. Uhm, my name's Keiko." I introduced myself, blinking rapidly.
(Group's P.O.V)
"I think Naruto's hitting on your girlfriend." Chouji said. Sasuke growled.
"SHE IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND! SHE'S HOT AND ALL, BUT WE ARE NOT DATING!! OKAY!?" He yelled out. Keiko looked up at him, blushing. Sasuke realized what he said, and grabbed his backpack.
"I'll see you guys later." He walked inside the school, an occasional fangirl asking if he was talking about them.
"Well, he's mad." Kiba said. Shino hit him on the head.
"Obviously. How did you even pass last year?" Kiba shrugged. The bell rang, and no one in the courtyard made a motion to move. Keiko looked at everyone.
"Well, I have to go. Y'know meet my teachers, get settled in, try to make friends with the teachers so I don't get mauled..." She ranted on, and grabbed her backpack.
"You guys can stay here. Y'know, talk a little." Keiko was already trying to get Naruto and Hinata together. Neji stood up too.
"I'll walk you inside." Neji didn't have a crush on her, but she was new, and he sill cared for her. When they were little they would hang out occasionally. And now, if she was alone in the school, even with her talents, she would get killed. Or worse, the preps would ask her to join them. He knew that Keiko would whoop the cheerleaders asses any day.
Keiko nodded and walked by his side. When she noticed the stares of everyone, she elbowed him.
"Why are they staring?" He laughed silently.
"I'm... the schools... uh, you could say one of the most popular guys, and since I'm with you, a nonpopular new girl. It looks weird." Keiko hit him in the shoulder, looking forward, as confident as ever.
"Thanks a lot." She said, saracasm dripping from her voice. The stares annoyed her. It was like the clans funeral, the sequel.
Keiko walked up to the coffin of her dad, with all eyes on her. He looked peaceful. Like he was only sleeping. It hadn't quite hit Keiko that her clan was dead, and touching her father's face, feeling it being so cold, made her recoil. Like his skin had burned her.
Tears came to her eyes. And they kept coming. Kastuke whispered harsh words to everyone, trying not to distrub Keiko.
She was only 12! She was turning 13 in a few days, on September 19th. They were going to have a big party. With everyone invited. Everyone in the village, and other ones too. Her best friend from Hoshi was coming, Kisa. More tears came to Keiko's eyes. Why?? Why!?
She banged her hand on the side of the coffin.
"WHY?! Why did you abandon us? You said you would be here forever! With us! Why?!" Katsuke rushed over to her taking her in his arms.
"Shhh. Shhh." He said, soothing her like his mother did.
"Th-they... they didn't know. It's not their fault." Katuske had a more clear view of everything, turning 15 soon, and more able to handle this. The Sandaime explained that someone assasinated them.
"Wh-what happened? W-we had such a good life. I stopped being teased, and y-you got some new friends." She was talking about Itachi and his group. Katsuke frowned.
"Yeah... I don't know. I really don't know... It proves how much life can change in a blink of an eye..." Keiko nodded and looked back towards the coffins.
"I'm sorry." Keiko said to the air surrounding her.
Keiko's eyes blurred for a second, but she didn't cry. And her face looked the same.
"My homeroom is 319." She pointed to the room in front of them. He nodded and waved.
"I'll see you later, Keiko. Wait, let me see your schedule." She held it out to him, and his eyes scanned over it.
"You have study hall, lunch, and history with me. So I'll see you in Study Hall." I waved to him, smiling. Then I looked inside the classroom. It was empty, except for two people. One was a tanned man, sitting at the teacher's desk, reading a book. The other was... Sasuke. Shit.
I opened the doorknob silently, not disturbing the two men. Closing it behind me, just as quiet, I used my inhuman speed to pop up in front of the teacher. He yelped and dropped his book, also managing to knock over some papers and a light on his deak. I sighed and grabbed the papers and light, setting the light on the desk, and fixing up the papers. There was a paper on the top that appealed to her.
Iruka,
you will have a new student in your homeroom. Her name is Chinatsu Keiko. She is the only student that's new, and you must assign someone to show her around. Do not get her angry, she is a demon carrier, and can easily get mad, usually destoying or severely injuring someone. Good luck!
Staff of Konoha High School.
Greaaaat. They're fucking scared of me! I sighed and dropped the papers on his desk, trying to disguise my anger. Iruka immediately sensed it, and he looked at the paper for a scond.
"Oh. Miss Chinatsu, I'm sorry. They don't man to offend you. There's just.. well one of the other demon carriers has killed people. We put caution to it. I'm sorry." Iruka said, sympathetically. I shook my head.
"It's no problem..." I turned to sit down. Then stopped while my back was facing him. "By the way. I don't take pity from people. I don't need anyone's help." I scowled and sat down, in the back right corner's desk. Three seats behind Sasuke. I raised an eyebrow. He actually paid attention to class? And he was in the front row? Damn. As if sensing my stare, he looked back at me, with a glare.
"What?" He asked, obviously annoyed. 'Mood swings!! Beware of the emo queen! Er, KING!' My demon, Aoi said. I rolled my eyes. 'So? I don't judge. Well, at least not about emo stuff. We're goth/punk.' Aoi shrugged, and a hand waved in my face. I looked up, stunned. Sasuke was in front of me, his face inches away from mine.
"I asked you a question." I smirked.
"And I didn't answer it." He glared at me.
"Well, you should. Why were you staring at me?" He said it more like a statement than a question.
"I was wondering why an idiot like you was sitting in the front. Let me guess, you're up there for hitting on the other guys. And I do mean guys, in the class last year??" He scowled at me.
"He has straight A's, Miss Chinatsu. The top in our class. Which reminds me, you have straight A's too. You sit next to him." Iruka said, standing a few feet away from us. A growl started from the back of my throat, but I covered it up with a cough, and fake smiled at Iruka.
"Okay, Iruka-sensei!" I said in a cheery, yet fake, preppy voice. Iruka's eyes widened, and he slowly backed away, scared of my cheerleader attitude. I skipped up to his desk, pretending not to be able to stop and rammed into it, purposely making everything knock over. Sasuke's lips almost turned up in a smile, but he stopped.
"Oopsies!" I leaned down to pick everything up and bumped into Iruka, his manly area. He blushed, and I jumped up, smiling.
"Oh, I didn't know you liked me that way, Iruka-kuuun." I blinked cutely. He blushed even more.
"Y-You may sit down, M-Miss Chinatsu." I smiled at him.
"Okay, Iruka-kun!" I pretended to skip back to my desk, acting all cheery, until I sat down, and went back to my normal attitude. Sasuke was trying hard not to laugh. I loked back at Iruka, smirking evilly.
"By the way... That was all an act. I would never act that way." Iruka looked thankful, and muttered something to himself. Sasuke chuckled, and people started walking in the class. I didn't realize, but the bell had rung. A blonde-haired girl walked in front of my desk.
"Why are you sitting next to my Sasuke-kun?" She leaned on my desk, glaring at my face. I shrugged.
"I don't think you would sit here, so it seems to be okay. Especially with the teacher." I glanced at Iruka, who nodded, forgetting the ordeal that just happened. Ino sighed, angrily, and sat next to her group of followers. I rolled my eyes, leaning my head on the cold desk. Smeone sat in the seat next to mine. It was a boy with the same hairstyle as Iruka. Huh? I looked between him and Iruka, pointing to each of them
"Are you guys related?" I asked the boy. He shook his head.
"No." He leaned his head on one of his hands. Behind him, a girl tapped his shoulder.
"Shika... Do you want to go out for lunch. I heard that this year, we're allowed to go off school grounds to eat." I cheered mentally. That meant I could go to the waterfall near my house instead of the school cafeteria. I ran my hand through my hair, sighing. Finally, everyone was seated, and Iruka smiled at the class.
"Hello, everyone! It's.. er... nice to see you all again. I'd like to introduce a new girl to our school." He motioned to me, and I groaned, standing up. I waved shortly, and sat down again.
Iruka came up to me and grabbed me by the arm, pulling me to a standing position, making me fall against him.
"HEY, HEY, HEY!! I don't support teacher-student relationships!!" I pushed away from him, falling backwards, on the floor. Everyone laughed and Iruka blushed, while I muttered profanitites.
"No cussing." Sasuke sai, not taking his eyes off the front board.
"Yeah, whatever. Bite me." Sasuke chuckled.
"Maybe I should." I stood up, glaring at his face.
"Then do it. C'mon, don't be scared, I'm not a wimp who cries." He stood up wih his hands on the desk, his face inches way from mine.
"No. I don't bite people." I scoffed. Right, he didn't, not literally, but figuratively, he definitely did. Does!
"Whatever, don't state unesscessary threats." He growled at me. I brought my face closer until we were less than an inch apart.
"Does it look like I care?" I closed my eyes, smirking.
"I dont know. Does it?" I felt a presence behind me, but ignored it.
"Bitch." He shot at me, all of a sudden.
"Jack-ass." He snarled.
"Crazy woman that doesn't know when to shut the fu-" Someone pushed us together, keeping us invisibly tied up together. I gasped, surprised by the kiss, and the closeness of us both. I ulled my head away, panting.
"What the fuck Uchiha?! What was that?!" He glared at my face.
"It wasn't me, you did it you crazy woman!!" I struggled to pull away,a nd saw a brown-haired kid with purple face paint snickering at us.
"What? What's so funny, you're the guy wearing make-up!" He dead-panned, just staring at me.
"It's NOT make-up! It's FACE PAINT!" I shrugged.
"Who cares. Get us out of here, I know you tied us up." He shrugged, walking to his seat. I jumped, trying to hit him, but I knew it was useless. Then a sharp pain was sent through my shoulder. I cried out in pain. Sasuke managed to use his arms to keep me up. Another wave of pain. And another.
"L-let me.. go!" Tears came to my eyes, and I shook my head wildly, trying to hide them. Aoi was coming out. This was the second time. She said that each time, it got more and more painful. I sealed my eyes shut, willing myself not to open them. I feared what I would see. Who would die, what would be destroyed to tiny pieces.
'No, no, no. Aoi! Please! Not here!' I begged my demon. She growled at me.
'No, they're angering me. They will die.' I cried even more. It wasn't fair. Why was I cursed with this? Why did I have this demon? Why was I so different? I stifled a sob.
"I-It's not... fair!" I cried out between sobs.
