Chapter 2

Noon came way too fast. I didn't even know why I agreed to give Leo a tour anyway. I felt completely ridiculous as I tried to do something with my hair. Why bother? He probably won't show up anyway, I thought. It didn't matter what I thought about it, because I knew that I was going to meet him no matter what.

I decided on pulling my hair back and grabbed my purse on my way out the door. It was a little after noon, and I hated being late. I looked around as I walked out the doors of my residence hall. I didn't see him. I couldn't help but feel slightly disappointed. And I admonished myself for feeling that way. What was Leo to me anyway? A friend? I barely even knew him.

"Hello." I spun around at the sound of his voice. My spirits instantly lifted, and I again scolded myself because of it. "I thought you would not come."

"Well, I did. Happy?"

"You are still upset with me." Leo stated.

"No," For some reason, I didn't want to upset him, "I'm just tired." It was the first excuse I could think of.

"You can go back to your room if you wish..." Were my eyes playing tricks on me, or did he ever so slightly look sad at that thought?

"No!" I said a little too quickly. "I'm fine."

"Good." He smiled. He had a great smile. The kind that dentists marveled at. I found myself a little mesmerized. "Where shall we begin?"

"Umm...I guess the dining hall?"

"Lead the way." I showed him all around the campus. We started with the dining hall, and then we visited the tech center and the student center. We went down Licouras Walk, where the bank and the 7 Eleven were. It all seemed boring to me, even when I took the tour the summer before my senior year. But Leo was interested. Very interested. He listened to everything I said and asked a ton of questions, some I couldn't answer.

"Do you enjoy living here?" He asked out of the blue. That was one I could answer.

"Yeah. I love it."

"Why?"

Why do you need to know? I thought to myself. His curiousity was beginning to take a toll on me. "I don't know...I guess I just like the freedom. It's nice to make my own decisions."

"You did not before?"

"No," I wasn't sure why I was humoring him, but I continued anyway, "My parents would always make decisions for me. They said that since they were paying for everything, they had the right to. So I'm paying for everything now." Not the whole story, but good enough for him.

"I see." We walked down Broad Street for a few blocks. I tried to think of something to say. As you already know, I'm not good in social situations.

"So," I started, not really knowing what I was going to say, "Are you close with your parents?" Immediately after I said it I felt stupid. I was prying.

"No. I do not speak to them anymore." He was suddenly very serious. I figured I shouldn't push the subject any further. Leo was a mystery to me. There was something very different about him. The way he acted, the way he spoke...I couldn't put my finger on it. And I had no idea why he chose to be my friend, for lack of a better word. I was always the one who went out to find people to talk to. No one ever came to me. So why he, of all people, wanted to hang out with me was also a mystery.

"Well...that's pretty much it." I stopped in from of my residence hall. "So where's your dorm?"

"In White Hall." We stood on the corner awkwardly. I felt like I was back in high school. Thankfully, he took it upon himself to speak up. "I enjoyed the tour."

"Uh, yeah. No problem." I walked backwards a couple steps, "I guess I'll see you around."

"Until we meet again." Who says that kind of stuff? I watched him cross the street and continue down Broad Street until I couldn't see him anymore. After I realized that I was still standing on the corner, I walked quickly into Peabody and up to my dorm.

What is wrong with me? He's just a guy. There's nothing special about him. I hated the fact that I was in the early stages of becoming attached to Leo, when I barely knew him. I never had good experiences with boys, and I decided that now was not the time to get attached to one. I had too many other things to worry about. I decided to stay away from him no matter what.

I unlocked the door to my room and immediately headed for the couch. My feet were killing me. Emily came out of our room. She had an odd look on her face. "Where the hell have you been all day?"

"Nowhere," I said, "Just...around." Why did I have to suck at lying?

"Really?" She sat down next to me, smiling evilly, " 'Just around'. Were you just around with anyone I should know about?" How did she know? Emily was very irritating sometimes.

"Umm...no." Lie.

"Okay, I saw you on Liacouras!" She almost shouted, "You and that guy! Who is he?!"

"His name is Leo. I met him yesterday in my computer class." I sighed, knowing that this would only lead to a thousand more questions.

"What's he like? Besides completely gorgeus. Does he have any brothers?"

"Emily!" I scolded, "You have a boyfriend!"

"I know, I know," she said, "But seriously, he is FINE. What were you guys doing anyway?"

"I was showing him around campus. He just transferred from RISD."

"What?! Are you kidding me?" I was pretty sure the look on her face was the same one I had when Leo told me that himself. "Why did he transfer?"

"He 'didn't like the atmosphere'. But personally, I think he's crazy." Just then, my other room mate, Amy, walked in. She was a nice person, but she kept to herself for the majority of the time. We didn't have too much in common anyway. She was into fantasy books and things like that. I just didn't have the energy to be interested in anything.

"Hey Amy." I said.

"Hey," she replied. It seemed she didn't do well in social situations as well.

"Do you want to go out to dinner with us tonight?" Emily asked, "We don't know where we're going but maybe you have an idea...?"

"Um, I'm kinda tired." Amy stared at her shoes, "Maybe another time?"

"Yeah, sure." I said as Amy walked into her room. We constantly tried to get her to go out with us, but she always turned us down. She was too shy for her own good.

"Anyways," Emily continued with our previous topic, "When are you going to see him again?"

"I don't know. I'm pretty sure he's only in my computer class, so probably next Friday," I said, "It doesn't matter though. It's not like this is going to turn into anything."

"Who said it was?" Emily asked innocently.

"Shut up."

"I told you before, I am not coming back." He said angrily. He was becoming weary of all the phone calls he had gotten lately.

"I know. However, things here are getting out of hand. Sirion is up to something." Said the man on the other end of the line.

"I am sure you can handle it yourself."

"The coucil is starting to split. I fear that it will inevitably fall apart without your leadership."

He sighed. "As I have said before, I no longer wish to be a part of the council. I have served as the leader for too many years. It is time for someone new to take over." He wished that they would respect him enough to understand that he desperately needed to get away. But he knew better than to hope for such things.

"But Legolas-"

"Goodbye, and please, do not call again unless it is something important." With that said, he snapped his phone shut.

Ugh. Mondays suck. I think that's the consensus of the whole world though. I dragged myself out of bed at the crack of 8:00 am and got ready for my classes. I threw on a gray shirt and jeans after quickly pulling my hair back. I ran out the door just in time to catch the bus to the old Tyler campus.

I finally got there with just five minutes to spare before my first class started. I practically ran to the Main Tyler building, where my figure drawing class was. I yanked open the door, only to stop dead where I stood.

"Hello," Leo said cheerfully. I quickly looked around the room. I was the last one there. The only seat left open was the one next to him. So much for my plan of avoiding him.

"Hi," I sighed and sat in the seat next to him. Of all the classes I had, why did he have to be ni this one? I was sure that only awkward moments awaited us...

"Good morning, class," The professor greeted us, "Today we're going to start with some 5 minute poses and then we'll move on to longer ones." A man who looked to be in his fifties walked into the room, wearing a purple robe. "This is Robert, our model for today. We will begin our first five minute pose in two minutes, so please get out you sketch pads and charcoal."

"So," I said, trying to sound polite, "What are you doing here?"

"I am taking a figure drawing class." He sounded a little confused.

"Right," I tried focus on anything else besides the fact that I was maybe just a little happy that he was in two of my classes. Luckily, I had a fifty-year-old naked man to distract me. You'd think after taking over a year of figure drawing classes, I would be used to naked people. But it still made me blush from time to time. Unfortunately, this didn't go unnoticed by my new 'friend'.

"Have you not taken a class like this before?" He smiled as Robert, the model, tried to find a comfortable pose. (By this point he was naked.)

"Yes, I have." I scowled.

"It was just a question." He still had an amused look on his face. Normally, this would have upset me, but it was hard to get too mad at him. And that made me get mad at myself.

"Time starts...now." The room became quiet as everyone tried to get in as much detail as they could. I started with Robert's head, as I did with any model. I would save his cash and prizes for later.

"You rely too much on lines."

"What?" I was enveloped in my drawing, and I almost completely forgot that Leo was there.

"You should try to focus on value. You use too much line work." I looked over at his drawing and immediately wished I hadn't. It was amazing. The amount of detail he managed to fit in in just a little over two minutes was awesome, for lack of a better word. Ayways, I had heard that critique before, but never from one of my classmates. It made me feel a little...stupid.

"Thanks," I said sarcastically, "I'll remember that for next time." I continued drawing, but I really did try to not use lines so much. After the five minutes for that pose was up, I took out my iPod to avoid any more distractions from Leo. We had four more five minute poses, and after that we had a break. I headed for the water fountain.

"Your sketches have improved greatly," I closed my eyes in frustration. Did he have to follow me every where I went?

"Thanks," I said as I walked past him back into the classroom. And he followed. He was like a golden retriever. When I got back to my seat, I saw that Robert was looking at my drawings. I seriously hated it when the models looked at my stuff. I smiled at him when I sat in my seat.

"Your work is very lovely." He said. I muttered a 'thank you' and flipped to a fresh page in my sketchbook. I tried not to look him in the eye. It was too weird after seeing him naked. "However, I noticed that you missed some things."

"Umm...what?" I had a pretty good idea where this was going and I didn't like it.

"Well," He continued, "You seem to have neglected some things. How can I put this delicately? My...cash and prizes." I just stared at him. Since when do fifty year old men listen to Dane Cook? Honestly. "Next time, don't be shy." He winked at me before he walked over to the other side of the room. I was speechless.

"I think he likes you." I gave Leo a death glare. "He is right though. You never did draw...what term did he use? Oh, his 'cash and prizes'."

"Oh my God!" I covered my face with my hands, "Don't say that EVER again. And we only had five minutes for a pose! I couldn't get to...to...everything!"

"Okay class!" The Professor said, "We're going to move onto some 15 minute poses." Robert moved to the middle of the room and discarded his robe. He moved into a position where he was standing with his legs spread apart and his hands on his hips...and he was facing me. He winked at me again when the professor started the time.

"Oh my God." I muttered. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Leo trying to stifle his laughter. Again, had it been any other person, I would've gotten a little pissed. But I couldn't help laughing along with him.

A/N: There you go. A naked guy, like I promised. Don't let the new Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants movie fool you. There are no hot naked guy models for figure drawing. Trust me.

Anyways, I'm not exactly sure what'll be coming up next, but I promise it'll be awesome! So if you review, I'll update faster...
