Lyn's words still rang through Abigayle's thoughts. She was oddly heartbroken and scared. The ghostly girl had told her a few things she feared deep in her heart.

Her parents knew everything.

"You should break it off. Before it get's out of hand."

The specter's words, even from the memory, stung. Mostly because she knew it was true. Her relationship with James was wrong. It shouldn't exist, shouldn't have existed. She was Voldemort's kid for Merlin's sake!

And he was Harry Potter's son. . . She should hate him. She should want to kill him. She did. She did want to kill him, make his father feel the pain, the torment. Let him know that she knew exactly who he was, and where her loyalties should be lying.

But, she couldn't keep up the feeling. James was perfect to her. Well, far from perfect. But, people always say that opposites attract, and they were as opposite as they could be. And she loved it.

Abigayle stayed outside the Room of Requirement, listening to the excited voices flowing from the room. She heard them all, everyone talking about Lyn's return. Abigayle couldn't say she was as excited as the others.

"Abigayle, you do realize how dangerous your relationship is with him? How any relationship with him would be? Even being friends with him is dangerous. Because of you people could decide to hurt him, and vice versa. People could hurt you because of him. You should break it off. Before it get's out of hand."

Abigayle grimaced knowing it was right. How she didn't want it to be right! She was happy, and she had friends. She a future here, unlike what would happen if she turned her back on the life she had then.

"Abby?"

Abigayle looked to the smaller girl. Adrianna watched her with worried eyes, "Abby, what are you doing out here? Don't you want to go sit with everyone else?"

"I will in a moment. I was just using the silence out here to think for a moment," Abigayle smiled, though the girl still eyed her warily.

"Ok," Adrianna slipped past her into the doorway, "But, if it's what Lyn spoke to you about that's making you look like you're about to cry, you shouldn't listen. She isn't always right, dead or alive."

Abigayle watched the smaller go into the room, her worried look switching to a gleeful one. She wondered silently what the situation meant. Lyn telling her one thing, and Adrianna, not even knowing what it was about, telling her not to listen.

A realization hit her as she felt liquid on her cheeks. She wiped the tears away, glaring at her hands accusingly. James would know something was wrong the moment she walked in, but she couldn't let him think she was troubled.

It would just make things worse.
