Hello, I'm alive. How are you? Well, a lot has changed. I got back into Hetalia, I never left Marvel but transition myself over to DC, and now I'm writing again. I really want to finish this properly, like I planned to before. These oneshots are the countries interactions with the Marvel world, all the way up to the infinity Stones movie. After that, I'm sure I'll figure out something. That means that these chapters are going to be anywhere from the reboot of the X-Men, to the newest Civil War. I'll try to keep up with anything that comes out before Infinity Stones, and try to add stuff in based on that.

Also, thank you so much for everyone who still favs and follows. I know it's been a long time, but it makes me so happy to know people still read and enjoy this.

(Takes place in first part of A.O.S. Season 2. Also, I'll be using the dates of the episodes/movies being released for the fic dates.)

"You know; I was having dreams again. About Peggy and the others." Amelia's laugh echoed in Fury's office, the sound brittle. It was rare for Fury to hear the wavering in her voice. The two of them sat across from each other, a meet up that Amelia had asked for. Times like these where they could just talk were rare, neither one of them having the moment to really sit back and catch up.

"Tony's laughter used to echo on the phone when I talked to her. Man, one of my biggest regrets was never telling her. About me, you know."

"You didn't have a choice."

"You'd be surprised about what I had the choice of." Amelia sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "The others liked Peggy. I could have. But I couldn't. Not after losing Steve, not when the Commandos stopped staying in touch."

"I don't think she would have blamed you. You still kept an eye out for her. You made them keep her as an agent."

"She didn't want to stop."

Fury leaned over to pour drinks for him and Amelia. "I don't think you're here just to talk about the past."

Amelia stayed silent, her eyes studying the table between them. She opened her mouth to talk, paused, then continued. "What if I said I can feel something is about to happen."

Fury raised his eyebrow as he handed the glass to Amelia. "Something bad, or good?" Amelia tipped the glass back, before looking at him.

"Bad, but someday good."

"How long will the someday be?"

"I don't know. Years, months? It'll depend on those involved." Amelia reached towards the alcohol again. "It reminds me of Hydra. Oily, smells like burnt hair. It sends this feeling up my spine like when you scratch a chalk board."

"There's been unrest in S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. People are starting to feel uneasy."

"That might be my fault. People pick up on their nation's emotions, and vice versa. It's like that sixth sense thing. Maddie has been feeling it too."

She downed the second glass as fast as the first, before sliding it onto the table. "We both know evil like that doesn't just go away. It'll come back different, but it won't ever stop." Amelia sighed as she spoke, her hand twitching before she reached back for the glass.

"I don't want another Hydra, Fury. But I don't think it'll stay away."

Fury gathered his thoughts. "Have the other nations felt this, too?"

"No, just Canada. I think our people will be in the middle of this, again." She huffed out laugh that ended with what Fury would say sounded more like a whine.

"God, Fury, I can hear Barnes, too. For years, now. I keep hearing him screaming. It comes back once and a while before stopping."

"And it's started again? Why didn't you tell anyone?" Amelia rose from her seat, and began to pace.

"And say what? Steve, the man you saw die, the man I felt die, he's still here? I'm sorry I was wrong?"

"You don't even know if it's him, Amelia." She turned to look at him, the tendons in her neck flexing as she repeatedly swallowed down rising bile.

"I know my people, just as I know everything about you, I know everything about Barnes. But it's only partial now. It's broken. He's not fully mine anymore."

"It's not just this that's bothering you. You'll have to tell Steve that you've known Barnes was alive."

"I hid it from him. We could have found him, but I hid it."

The two stayed silent. After a while Amelia sat back down, and started on another glass. Sooner than both realized, the sun set. As Amelia moved towards the office door, Fury spoke a final time.

"How much longer do we have before what you're feeling starts?"

Amelia froze, body rigged against the door frame. She looked at Fury, her nose crinkled up as she tried not to cry.

"I don't know."
