Chapter 2 Coming Back
John, Neville, and Ginny now stood in front of the entrance to the Room of Requirement.
"Well, we're here," Neville said.
"It feels like forever since we've been here," Ginny replied.
John gave a small smile.
"Things have changed since then," he said.
Neville did the steps in order to get in. John could see a smile form on his face.
"That'll never get old," Neville said.
They all began walking around the room. At a certain point, they all were in different areas of the room.
"John, you might want to come see this," Neville said.
John could not imagine why Neville would be calling him. He had to admit he was somewhat nervous as he made his way to Neville and Ginny, who had just walked up.
"What is it?" John asked.
There was a dark figure in the corner of the room.
"Who is it?" Ginny asked in a low voice.
The figure did not move. It was like it had no idea of the presence of the three new people in the room.
"Show yourself," Neville said.
The figure stood up, but did not turn. However, John knew who it was by the height and build.
"No, it can't be," John said. He felt himself lose feeling in his legs. "You…"
Suddenly, the world turned black. John had lost consciousness.

When John came to, he felt himself on something soft. The figure was now standing in front of him.
"You," John yelled out.
John tackled Sherlock to the ground. Neville and Ginny did not know how to react.
"Please, John, forgive me for all the hurt that I caused you," Sherlock said.
"This is a trick," he replied, still on the ground with Sherlock pinned.
"No," Sherlock replied calmly.
"You! Complete! Arse,"John yelled.
He finally let Sherlock go.
"Let me explain," Sherlock said.
"I'd love to hear it," John replied.
Sherlock looked over at Neville and Ginny.
"A bit of privacy, please," he said. Neville nodded and walked away with Ginny. Sherlock turned back to John. "You're angry."
"Yeah, just a bit," John replied.
"I couldn't tell you," Sherlock said.
"Why the bloody hell not?" John asked. "I'm your best mate."
"That's why I couldn't. Your life would've been in danger," Sherlock said.
"It's been in danger for a while now," John replied.
"Yes, I've heard about the Muggle-born Registration," Sherlock said.
The Ministry was looking into witches and wizards with questionable parentage.
"Then you know who the Headmaster is," John said.
"Of course," Sherlock replied.
It took everything for John not to roll his eyes. He then took a deep breath.
"I find it difficult this sort of stuff. We've been through this before. But, yes, I forgive you," John said.

As more and people joined, the room changed to their needs. Beds were even added.
"Guys! Harry, Ron, and Hermione were at the Ministry of Magic," Ginny yelled excitedly as she ran into the room with a paper.
"Doing what?" John asked.
"No one knows, but they're alive," Ginny said.
"That's a good thing," Sherlock said.
John turned to the boy standing next to him.
"Seamus, any word on Dean?" he asked.
"None. I figure he's in hiding," he said.
"I didn't realize he was Muggle-born," John replied.
Seamus shrugged his shoulders.
"He wasn't sure," he said.
"I see," John replied.
Ginny gasped as Neville walked in with a black eye.
"Neville," she yelled.
"I'm all right," he said, coughing up blood.
"No, you're not. I'll take you to the hospital wing," Ginny replied.
"I said I'm fine," Neville said.
John figured he had refused to do something for one of the death eater teachers.
"We'll, here's some good news," Ginny said, handing Neville the paper.
"That is good news. I hope they got what they were looking for," Neville replied.
"We all do," John said.
"So, holidays are coming up. I hope you all have a safe and happy Christmas," Neville replied once he everyone's attention.
"I don't feel right leaving students that aren't going home," John said.
"They'll have the professors who are with us," Sherlock replied.

For some reason, it was weird being home for Christmas. Then again, it had not been a normal school year either. They practically lived in the Room of Requirement.
"Can you believe this woman?" Harriet asked, a copy of a book in her hand.
John did not want Harriet to know what he and the others had been up to. He wanted to keep her safe.
"Yes, I can," John said.
He took the copy of The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore by Rita Skeeter from Harriet.
"You seem in a lot better mood," Harriet said, noticing his changed behavior.
He still had not told her about Sherlock.
"Yes, I am," John said.
"Ever since starting back. It can't be because of the teachers," Harriet replied.
John smiled.
"You're very observant," he said.
"Why won't you let me in on what's going on?" Harriet asked.
"No one said you couldn't," John said, which was a lie.
He did not want her putting herself in danger.
"There's something else, though," Harriet said.
John decided to finally tell her.
"I guess you'd find out. It's about Sherlock," he said.
"What about him?" Harriet asked.
"He's alive," John said.
"John…" Harriet began to say, to believing him.
"He is. When we get back I'll show you," he said.

John's mother walked up to him one morning during breakfast.
"John, how would you like to go to St. Mungo's with me?" she asked.
"Sure, I can learn some things," he said.
So after they ate, the three of them went. John was in awe of the building.
"Fantastic," Harriet said.
"I know this is off, but have you heard from Remus?" John asked his mother.
"Well, I know he and his wife are expecting. She might have had the baby by now," she said.
"How bad has it been?" John asked as they walked through the halls.
He was expecting panic or people with major injuries from being attacked.
"Not bad. But death eaters don't just attack," his mother said.
He got an unsettling feeling in his stomach.
"Right. They kill," John said.
John then noticed someone from the corner of his eye.
"What is it?" his mother asked.
"I thought I just saw a friend from school," John said.
They then spotted the boy in question.
"Oh, Neville Longbottom," John's mother said.
"Yes, how did you know?" John asked.
It was like she had seen him here before.
"If he hasn't told you, I don't think it's my place to say," John's mother said.
He nodded and decided to go find Neville.
"Hi, Neville," John said when he finally found him.
"John. What are you doing here?" he asked with a shocked tone.
"My mum works here," he explained. "You?
"It's my parents," Neville told him.
And that was all Neville had to say for John to understand.
"Oh, I'm sorry," John apologized.
"Thanks," Neville said.
"They're proud of you," John replied.
Neville gave a small smile.
"I'd like to think so," he said.
