So, I have yet to hear from anyone, because this is coming right after. I haven't given anyone a chance to comment, but feel free to!

The profile picture is what I am expecting Renee's hair to be like.

Also, I fucked up. I'm writing under the assumption that the three house workers of Ciel's had worked for his father as well. I know this is wrong, just roll with it.

ANywho...

Dinner was awkward and tense. The two siblings sat across from each other at opposite end of the table. Sebastian stood against the wall behind Ciel and Blair stood in a similar fashion behind Renee. Ciel stared at the woman across from him as she quietly ate her soup. After the awkward greeting, she had retired to her old room which had been long since turned into a guest room.

Ciel quickly learned that Meyrin and Blair had been close while she had been in the manor. Blair was the one who helped teach Meyrin although she left soon after Meyrin was employed as a maid.

The first meal was eaten in silence. The two ate their French onion soup and once finished, it was quickly take from them.

"That was wonderful, Ciel." Renee stated. "I look forward to the rest of what your cook has prepared for us."

"The next course is fish, my lady." Sebastian stated, "I have been informed you do not enjoy fish. Would you care for another bowl of soup?" He offered. She smiled gently and nodded.

"Why don't you like fish?" Ciel asked his sister. She wrinkled up her nose.

"The smell mostly." She admitted. "I have rarely enjoyed the taste enough to put up with the smell." Sebastian and Blair returned with their next course. Ciel ate his fish, and Renee took another bite of the soup. She closed her eyes and hummed. "This warm soup is wonderful after such a cold, rainy day."

"Renee," Ciel asked, his tone neutral and almost bored, "may I ask why you are in mourning clothes?" He asked, noticing she still wore the traditional mourning garb women wore. It was a simple black dress that had a lower collar that was lined with lace. The sleeves went to her elbows and the bustle was relatively small. Renee looked at her brother and blinked.

"Because I am in mourning." She answered. "Was it not clear enough?" Ciel fought the urge to roll his eyes.

"And who are you mourning?"

"My husband." She answered and Ciel began coughing, choking on his fish. Sebastian stepped up and assisted the young man. "I was married until recently. He passed a few months ago." She answered and sipped from her glass of wine.

"I apologize." Ciel stated. "I meant no offense."

"Don't worry yourself over something so small." She said and waved her hand at him. Ciel raised an eyebrow.

"I wouldn't say the death of a husband is small." He stated. Renee looked at him from across the table. "What happened to him?" Renee offered a shrug and focused on her soup once more.

"He died. There was nothing special or odd about it." She told him. "He became ill, and died." They fell into silence once more, finishing their course. Ciel looked at his sister. Her hair was curled and styled to where some of it was pulled away from her face and the rest fell down behind her. Black ribbon was on her throat as a choker but a long delicate gold chain fell down her front and a small odd pendant hung from hit. She wore simple earings and sat with her back straight. She lacked the traditional English accent and she sounded more Scottish. As they were served their next course, the main course of chicken, Ciel decided to ask some of the more pressing questions.

"Where have you been these past few years?" He asked. Renee sighed audibly.

"I spent much time in Scotland before moving to France. I lived in Paris for about a year before traveling to Bordeaux and Marseilles. From there, we sailed to Genoa, Italy. After spending time there, I traveled through Italy, spending much time in Rome and Venice. I was even able to stay for a while near the Vatican. That is where I met my late husband." She explained. "I was studying and learning in these places, but I doubt that is why you are asking." She stated and sipped more of her wine.

"When did you decide to return home?" Ciel asked. "Was it before or after you learned of our parents' deaths." Renee sighed.

"That is quite unfair of you to accuse." She pointed out. "It was not until I had settled with my husband that I began to receive any news once more. However, the letter of our parents' death had not reached me until a month ago, during my stay in Greece."

"Why have you returned?" he asked. "Why not remain in Greece?" Renee blinked and looked at him.

"My parents have died and my younger brother has been left with a company to run, all alone." She answered, looking at him. Her eyes seemed to pierce him as they found something they hadn't noticed before. "I figured it would only be right to return for my brother, now that I am able to do so. I assume the company is flourishing under your care, now that I am able to meet you as you are." She took another sip of wine, this time finishing the glass. Blair, her maid, stepped up and refilled her glass. Renee couldn't help but watch as the thick, dark red liquid splashed around her glass.

"Am I correct to assume you wish to take over the family company?" Ciel asked bitterly. She shook her head and continued eating. Once she finished chewing, she spoke.

"Assuming you have done well with the company, I do not wish to interfere with your work." She responded, startling Ciel a bit. "I only hope that you will allow me to ease the burden of managing such a large business. If you desire my help in expansion, especially in the foreign branches, you will find I am most capable of assisting. Not only with my knowledge of politics, law, and business, but also my connections throughout Europe."

"Is that why you were sent away?" Ciel asked. "To make connections?" She nodded.

"Mostly." She spoke before finishing her meal.

"Why else were you sent away?" He asked, wanting to know more. She dabbed at her lip with her napkin before speaking.

"I haven't seen you since you were a child." She told him. "You have asked me quite a number of questions already. May I ask a few of you?" Ciel leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms as he allowed Sebastian to take his plate away.

"Very well." He agreed. The next course and desert were filled with her asking a wide array of questions, varying from "What is your favorite color?" to "How are you going about managing the company?" They spoke and Renee was able to learn a little about her younger brother. Ciel noticed that Blair was about to pour her fourth glass of wine, and yet his sister showed no signs of inebriations. After she tossed the third bonbon into her mouth, she asked Ciel a question that caught him completely off guard.

"Tell me Ciel," She began, eyeing her brother and his butler carefully, "When did you make a contract with a demon?"
