I sniffed. God, what is that smell? I was tired, so tired. I rolled over and was met with a solid body next to mine. It was a man. Was it Chad? Why was Chad in my bed? I didn't bother opening my eyes. I felt the strong arms of whoever was next to me wrap around my waist.
"Chad, get off me." I grumbled, pulling his or whoever's, arms off me. They just wrapped them around me again. I realized me and whoever was in bed with me were tangled up. I felt a boxer clad dick pressed up against my leg. "Chad, get that thing away from me."
"I'm not Chad." A familiar voice said. I couldn't picture a face with the voice. I reached my hand up touching the top of the mans head. This was DEFINITELY not Chad. I ran my hand down the mans face before opening my eyes. I was met with two blue eyes.
I sprang away from him. I had no panties on. God, who's shirt was I wearing. "Um, sorry." I said, not looking the guy in the eyes. God, now that I looked at him he looked more familiar. What was his name? How drunk was I last night? I looked over to see Chad sleeping in Taylor's bed. Taylor was an early riser. She was probably working on a paper or something in the living room. I needed to talk to Taylor.
I pulled the shirt to cover my butt and the front of me. Then I felt stupid because he probably already had seen everything already. I needed pants. I rushed over to my dresser and pulled out the first pair of underwear I found. I pulled them on. I took a deep breath. God, the smell was still there. Sex. I needed to open a window. "It's okay." He said tiredly.
I pulled on a pair of shorts and opened a window. "You can, uh, go back to sleep." I winced. God, this was awkward.
"Okay, Ella."
I froze. Ella. I had a flash back of last night. The bar, the cab, Taylor, and the sex. I couldn't remember for the life of me what his name was though. I rushed out of my room, closing the door behind me. It seemed like there was a never ending trail of clothes. I was itching to clean it.
"Hey Gabs." Taylor said, taking a drink of her coffee.
"Hi." My head was spinning. I made it to the kitchen. I poured a cup of coffee and didn't bother to put anything in it. "God, what happened last night?"
"Well you were stuck at the bar, flirting with Vic to give you more drinks." She said slowly trying to remember. "You were talking to Troy while I was dancing with Chad."
"Troy! That's his name!" I said, almost spitting out the coffee in my mouth.
Taylor laughed. "I'm surprised you didn't remember. You were screaming out his name last night."
I blushed, mortified. "Oh god, please tell me you're joking."
She laughed again. "I'm afraid not. You let him… you know…. On your face."
I slapped my forehead. "Oh my god! And I remember being under you and Chad. Oh god. He must think I'm a complete whore." I covered my face. "What are the chances of me sneaking out before he gets up?"
"You'd better hurry then. Troy doesn't sleep in like Chad does." Taylor said, amused. She sipped her coffee turning back to the paper.
I abandoned the coffee cup on the counter and rushed back in my room. Thankfully the smell dissipated. I grabbed some clothes and pulled off Troy's shirt, I'm presuming. I got dressed quickly without waking the sleeping men. I found my phone on the floor and I grabbed a pair of tennis shoes and my backpack. I slipped out the door again and set my stuff on the couch.
"Where are you going?" Taylor asked me.
I walked into the bathroom and brushed my hair, throwing it up into a bun. I would definitely need another shower. I'm surprised I didn't have any remnants of last night in my hair. I can't believe I let him… on my face too. I was so embarrassed just thinking about it. I scrubbed my face and put some make-up on. I wondered what Jeff would think. He probably would have been disgusted. I laughed a little. Jeff, my ex, couldn't handle me.
I walked out of the bathroom feeling refreshed. "I'm going to the library. I need to go study." I said grabbing my backpack. "I'll be back later. I have my phone if you need anything."
"Bye Gabs." She said as I walked out the door.
I took a deep breath, walking down the stairs to my car. I checked my pocket, thankful I absentmindedly shoved my keys in there. I jumped in my car, driving to the school library. Hopefully it'll get my mind off Troy. There was a tingle in between my thighs. What was the matter with me?
I parked, grabbing my backpack. I walked into the library. It was pretty empty. Then again, it was Sunday. I sat by myself in a corner. I put my iPod in my ears and pulled out my Medical Lab procedures textbook. I got lost in my work and the music in my ears. I definitely wasn't thinking about Troy. I was switching over to my Chem text book when my phone vibrated.
'hey, look up.'
I looked up to see Jeff coming my way. Just great. "Hi Jeff."
"Hi Gabi." He said. "Can I sit here?"
I looked around and their was six empty tables next to me. "If you want I guess. There's plenty of empty tables."
He shrugged, lifting his enormous backpack on the table. I sighed. I was thinking about getting up and leaving but I didn't want to be rude. I just plugged my headphones back in and focused on my Chem notebook.
"Hey Gabi." Jeff said, waving his hand in front of my notebook to get my attention.
"What Jeff?" I asked, pulling a headphone out of my ear.
"Can you turn your music down? It's kind of distracting."
I raised my eyebrows. "You don't have to sit here." I said, putting it back in my ear. I tapped my pen on my thumb. I know it irked him where there was little noises and he couldn't concentrate. I heard him calling my name. "What Jeff?" I asked a little too loudly.
I got shushed by a couple people sitting around me. I had a lingering headache from my hangover and Jeff was not helping. "Nothing." Jeff blushed, embarrassed.
"Ella." My eyes widened. Nobody here called me that. I looked up to see Troy walking over to me. "Hey. Taylor said you were here. She dropped me off, actually."
"Gabi, who's this?" Jeff asked, defensively.
I thought my head was going to explode. "What are you doing here Troy?" I decided to ignore Jeff.
"I wanted to see if you wanted to go out to lunch." He said. "We can talk about… things." He looked over at Jeff.
"What things?" Jeff asked. He was so jealous it wasn't even funny.
"Sure." I said, packing up my stuff. "I need to get out of here." I mumbled under my breath.
"Gabi, who is he?" Jeff asked again.
"None of your damn business Jeff. We broke up months ago. We're not getting back together. You've complained the whole time you've been sitting next to me and you're the one who wanted to sit here. We're not friends Jeff. Goodbye." I picked up my things and took one last look at him. I was a little harsh on him but I was not in the mood to deal with him today. My hangover got the best of me.
Troy followed me out the building, over to my car. "Sorry." He said quietly. "For interrupting."
"Don't be. I'm thankful you came when you did. That freaking guy wouldn't let me study. I have the worst headache." I said softly, throwing my stuff in the trunk.
He shoved his hand in his pocket and pulled out a travel pack of pain relievers. "Here, I always have a spare. I don't have anything to drink though." I closed the trunk, taking the packet gratefully.
"Thank you. It's fine. I can swallow just fine." I made eye contact with him and we both blushed awkwardly at the slight innuendo. I opened the package. I put the two small pills in my mouth. I shoved the wrapper in my back pocket and walked over to my door. I climbed in, buckling my seatbelt.
Troy got in the passenger seat, scooting it back so his knees weren't pressed against the glove box. "So, um, where's a good place to eat?"
"What do you want to eat?" I asked, glancing over at him. He licked his lips and I felt a tingle between my thighs. I squeezed them together, starting my car to distract me.
"Anything, I'm starving." He said.
I nodded, backing out of the space. We sat in silence as I drove down the street. I pulled up to a Denny's. I was dying for some hash browns. "Is this okay?" I asked him.
He nodded. "It's fine." He climbed out of the car. We got seated and I poured some sugar in the coffee the waitress just filled up. Troy was drinking orange juice. "So what's up with that guy at the library?" He asked
I took a small sip before I set it down. "He's an ex. He's really…"
"Uptight?" Troy offered.
I nodded, laughing a little bit. "Exactly. He's a perfectionist. He needs everything to be perfect all the time. Perfect grades, perfect paper, perfect notes, perfect relationship, perfect sex. I mean he tries so damn hard to make it perfect, it's not even good." I said sighing. "I wasn't the perfect girlfriend so I broke up with him."
"Ah." Troy took a drink of his OJ before looking down at his menu. "Are you okay with us being friends?… you seemed a little weird this morning."
"To be honest Troy. I don't remember half of the things that happened last night. I barely remembered your name."
Troy smirked. "Taylor said you didn't remember my name."
I sighed. "Of course she did. I didn't remember your name, okay? I'm content with not knowing exactly what happened last night. Taylor ruined it by telling me that you…" I trailed off, blushing. God this was awkward. "Anyway, I'm sorry. We can still be friends. I guess. If you want." I offered.
Troy laughed, looking down at the menu. "I guess I'm not the only one that feels awkward."
I laughed. "No you're not."
"That's kind of relieving." He said, laughing a little bit.
"Yeah, it is." I said, taking another drink of my coffee. "What are you getting?"
He shrugged. "I don't know, I'm starving though."
"I want anything with hash browns." I said, glancing through my menu. "When are you guys leaving? Do you know?"
Troy nibbled on his lip, looking through the menu. He was reading something. He set the menu down and sat back against the booth. "No, Taylor said they were having a little alone time. So I don't expect it to be anytime soon."
I made a face. "Oh. You're right. You'll probably be home by tonight. But don't worry. I guess we'll have to wait until they give me the OK to go back in there. Good thing I have you to keep me company." I gave him a smile. "You know, since we're friends and all."
"Right." He grinned. "We're friends. Hell, by the end of the day we'll probably be best friends."
I shrugged. "Maybe." We ordered our food and I asked for another refill of my coffee. I poured more sugar in the cup and stirred it with my spoon. "So do you have a girlfriend?" I asked, quirking an eyebrow.
"Think about what happened last night and that should give you the appropriate answer." He said, smirking.
I shook my head. "Not necessarily. You could be one of those guys who you hook up with and you'll say you have a girlfriend the next day." I shrugged my shoulders. "It wouldn't be the first time."
"How many times has that happened to you?" He asked, frowning.
"Um… More than once." I explained vaguely. "Like I said before. I don't like to remember. That's mostly why I like to hook up with people when I'm drunk."
"But Taylor said you asked her what happened…" He said, confused.
I licked my lips. "I know. I needed to get your name somehow." I smiled innocently. "I didn't want you to way up and I'd have to ask you your name."
"So you decided to leave instead?" He questioned, an eyebrow quirked up.
"I had to study." I said nonchalantly, drinking my coffee.
He rolled his eyes. "That's some bullshit."
I laughed. "What? No."
He nodded with a satisfied smile on his face. "You're a pretty good liar but I'm better at telling the truth from a lie."
"Fine, I didn't want to do the walk of shame with you. I was already embarrassed enough for the both of us." I said defensively. I frowned. I hated how he made me crack this easily.
"Embarrassed? Why?"
"On my face Troy! You can't just bounce back after that."
He stared at me for a second before he burst out laughing. "I recall you saying something about you'll let me ejaculate anywhere I wanted as long as I let you ride me first." He said quietly.
"Oh my god." I said, mortified. I don't know if I was more embarrassed that it actually happed or the fact that we're talking about ejaculation inside of a Denny's. I covered my face.
"You're very naughty when you're drunk."
"I'm a grade A prude when I'm not so can you stop talking about it now." I said, not quite looking him in the eye. "Did I really say ejaculate?"
Troy chuckled. "No."
I took a sip of my coffee. "Didn't think so."
"I think you said jizz."
"Here's your food." The waiter said just in time. God I hope he didn't hear what Troy said. One can only take so much embarrassment in one day. I needed a drink.
Troy and I ate our lunch, well brunch because we both ordered breakfast. I was very overwhelmed. It had been quite a day already and it wasn't even noon yet. After we split the bill, we sat in the car. "I'm so full." Troy grumbled, leaning back.
"Me too. I need a nap." I said sighing.
"Do you think you can take me home? I don't really want to wait for Chad." Troy said.
"Sure."
"I have to get my bag from your place though." He said, sighing.
I licked my lips. "If you can get in and get out then I'll take you home."
"I don't know why you're afraid to go in your own apartment." Troy said as I started the car.
"I'm not afraid. I just don't want to intrude. I know they like to have their alone time so I let them have it. Taylor is my best friend. If she's happy then I'm happy. If Chad hurts her I'm obligated to chop his testicles off." I said with a shrug.
Troy smirked, shaking his head. "How long have you and Taylor been friends?"
"Forever it seems. Since freshman year of high school." I drove back towards the apartments. "What about you and Chad?"
"Since diapers. Our parents live next door to each other back in Albuquerque."
"Why haven't I met you in the three and a half years they've been together?" I asked him. I glanced at him quickly before I pulled into my parking spot.
"He was here with Taylor, I was at home with my girlfriend… well now ex girlfriend." Troy said, unbuckling his seatbelt. "We were together for two. She broke up with me on my birthday. I'll be right back." He said climbing out of the car.
I sat back, dumbfounded. How can you break up with somebody on their birthday? That's so fucked up. I sighed. I didn't need to know about this. More importantly I didn't need to care. I shook it off, turning on the radio. I sat back humming to myself. Troy climbed back in the car with his bag.
"You ready?" I asked him.
"Yup." He said. "I'll direct you."
"Thanks." I said, pulling out of the parking spot again. I got on the freeway and headed east towards the bridge. I tapped my finger on the steering wheel. "Why did she break up with you on your birthday?" I asked. I had to. It was bothering me.
"Because she 'fell out of love'" Troy shrugged. "I didn't feel the same about her either but she could have waited until the day after my birthday to do it."
"Yeah, that's kind of messed up." I murmured.
"What's your major?"
"I'm pre-med. I got into the grad program at Stanford. I want to be a psychologist or I want to study pathology, maybe do some research on diseases. Find a cure for something." I said, focusing on driving. "You?"
"I'm getting my bachelors in Social Working. I'm going back for my masters. I want to be a social worker." Troy said, watching me drive.
"Like for kids?" I asked him.
He nodded briefly. "Yeah."
"That's pretty cool. It's got to take a lot of heart and discipline." I said, stopping for traffic. "I wonder if there's an accident."
"That's coming from you, you want to be a research pathologist." Troy chuckled. "You know you're like two different people when you're drunk and when you're sober."
I snorted. "I've been told. I gotta get it out of my system someway or another. Better do it now then when I have a career and I'm making half a million dollars a year, right?" I winked at him.
Troy chuckled. "Sure."
Troy directed me to his apartment. I parked on my street. I decided to come up and hang out for a while. I waited for Troy to open the door. I looked at his butt. He had a nice butt. The familiar tingle came back again. I felt the urge to reach out and squeeze it. I haven't even started drinking yet. "Dear lord." I said under my breath.
"Excuse the mess." Troy said as we walked in.
I scoffed. "Shut up, this place is disgustingly clean." I closed the door behind me and took a seat on the couch. "You live alone?" I asked him.
"Yeah. I like my personal space." Troy said, smirking at me.
I laughed a little bit. "I haven't had personal space since I've moved to California. I don't mind though. I love Taylor. She's the sister I've never had." I got up. "Show me around."
"This is the living room."
"I got that one." I said sarcastically.
Troy chuckled. "Kitchen. Bathroom." He pointed to the door. He took my hand and lead me down the hallway. The tingles were back. They seriously needed to stop. "This is a guest room and this is my room." He said opening the door.
"Ooh, how nice." I said, walking in. I saw a picture of Troy and Chad with a blonde. "Is that the ex?"
"No, That's Sharpay. We went to high school with her. She's one of Chad and my best friends from back home." Troy said. "That's not Lindsay."
I crinkled my nose. "Lindsay, sounds pretentious."
Troy chuckled. "You have an opinion about everything, don't you?"
"Of course, I'm a woman." I said, taking a seat on the bed.
"Make yourself at home." He said sarcastically.
"Remember when you were shy?"
"Remember when you couldn't remember anything about last night?" Troy countered.
I just smirked at him. I think I was going to like being friends with Troy. I would just have to ignore the tingle between my lips and the overwhelming urge to jump him. Taylor did say that I screamed. It must have been some damn good sex.
