Ana stumbled into the arena that they were going to be wrestling in. She had gotten no sleep the last two nights due to her violent ex showing up and beating the crap out of her. He didn't touch her face, but the bruises on her ribs, back, and arms told everything. She had dark circles under her eyes, her hair was a mess, and she was dressed as lazily as she possibly could. She was early and hoped to get as much make up to cover her bruises as possible. It was going to take a while and she needed it to look like there was nothing beneath the makeup. She headed to her locker room and went inside. She knew that no one was going to be here until three more hours and was glad that she had the room to herself. She dropped her duffel bag by the couch, she pulled out her makeup bag and headed to the large mirror standing on a side table. She pulled up a stool and got to work. She had just started to apply her foundation when her locker room door opened and Randy Orton walked in.
"Please leave. I'm not in the mood to fight with you," she grumbled, turning away so that he couldn't see the dark circles under her eyes.
"Are you alright?" he asked, closing the door behind him.
"I'm fine! Please leave!" she said angrily, getting up and walking towards the bathroom.
"Ana look at me," he growled, grabbing her wrist and pulling her to a stop.
She hissed in pain and Randy instantly let her go, but her sweatshirt rode up and his gaze was instantly locked on the purple and blue bruise around her wrist and going up her forearm. Aneria pulled the sleeve back down and didn't dare look at him. She took a step back, but he took a small hold on her sweatshirt and gently pulled her closer.
"Let me see," he said calmly.
Ana shook her head and felt tears form in her eyes. She wasn't supposed to be this weak. She wasn't supposed to show the Viper her heartache and troubles.
"Ana, please. Let me see," he said softly, gently lifting her chin with his forefinger.
Her tears fell freely then and she clung to him. She buried her face in his chest and just cried. His large arms wrapped around her and just held her. His hold was so light that she hardly felt it, and was grateful because her bruises covered nearly all of her body. Once she had gathered her emotions and dried her eyes, she pulled away and still couldn't look him in the eyes.
"Are you wearing a bra?" he asked her, taking hold of the bottom of her sweatshirt.
She nodded and he carefully took off her sweatshirt. His blue eyes darkened when he saw the massive bruise that spread across her rib cage and down her stomach. He then turned her around and his angry growl made her flinch. He spun her back around and his eyes softened when he saw that her grey ones were full of fear and shame.
"Who did this to you?" he asked softly, cupping her face in his hands and forcing her to look up at him.
"My ex-boyfriend. He had been abusive after three months and I left him. He found me three nights ago and I couldn't get away in time. He beat me in the hotel room and left me there. The bruises are a bit better than they were two days ago. I'm still a bit sore, but nothing that I can't handle," she said, closing her eyes and reliving the memory.
"What is this ex-boyfriend's name?" Randy asked, lifting one of her arms to look at it more closely.
He could practically see the finger prints on her skin. He felt this anger start to boil at the sight of all these bruises. He gentled his touch when she winced and took a step back.
"His name is Adrian. He said that he was going to show up again tonight and I'm scared. I don't know what to do," she whispered, carefully holding her arms.
"I'm going to stay with you. I don't want to hear any arguments, I'm going to take care of this punk so he won't do it again," Randy growled angrily.
Ana nodded sheepishly and tried to pull her sweatshirt back on. Randy helped her get dressed and then had her sit down on the couch.
"You are not going to be doing anything. I cannot have you getting injured any further. I'll have Ted keep you company while Cody and I go to a match. They should be here in a few hours, so try and get some sleep. No one is going to hurt you while I'm here," he said, pulling out one of his own sweatshirts and bundling it up so it made a pillow. He had her lie down and after about twenty minutes of him sorting through his duffel bag, Ana finally fell asleep.
Ted and Cody had arrived and were watching as Randy paced Ana's locker room. Looking down at her to make sure she was still asleep every three steps. They pair looked at him oddly and just shook their heads. They got ready for the show that was going to be starting in an hour. Randy was already dressed and ready to go, making the pair take it easy on their usual annoying remarks.
After an hour of watching Randy pace, Cody finally tapped his shoulder and then tapped his wrist. They were out of time, their match was first and they needed to focus.
Ana woke up to see Ted lounging on the floor, his back to her and a rubric's cube in his hands. She chuckled and Ted flinched and looked over his shoulder at her. She just shook her head and got up, heading to the fridge for a bottle of water.
"Randy told me that you have a bunch of bruises, may I ask what they are from?" asked Ted, coming to his feet.
"Just an abusive ex-boyfriend. Thanks for keeping me company. I'm sure Randy was a real ass when you showed up," she chuckled, sitting back down and grabbing the remote.
"He just paced the space in front of the couch and kept looking at you to make sure you stayed asleep. I really think he likes you. Try and be nice to him, he really needs a lady friend to help him with his issues," Ted said, sitting down next to her.
"I'll try to. He is going to help me later on tonight. My ex is going to show up again tonight and when I told him, he said that he was going to stay with me at the hotel and take care of the problem. I'm kind of nervous, after all, he is the Viper. The Apex Predator of the WWE. He could do a lot of damage to my ex. I don't need him going to jail because of me," Ana sighed, running her hands through her messed up hair.
"He'll be fine. He also asked Cody and I to stay with you guys just in case if he snaps. He is really concerned about you. This is the first time I've ever seen him like this, but I think it is going to be good for him," Ted said, giving her hands a gentle squeeze for assurance.
Randy and Cody came back in and Ana looked up at him and smiled. She shakily stood, with the help of Ted, and went over to Randy. He shut the door and embraced her gently when she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Thank you for helping me. I will be in your debt forever," she whispered, tears filling her eyes.
"Cody, Ted, go get some food and chill around the arena for a few hours. I need to speak to Ana alone," Randy said, giving the guys a gesture with his head.
The two left quietly, giving Randy enough space and giving Ana a small smile as they left.
"What do you need to talk to me about?" Ana asked quietly.
Randy had an arm wrapped around Ana's waist, holding her close and carefully. He could tell that she was nervous, and she should be. Her abusive ex-boyfriend was going to show up and she didn't know what he was going to do, let alone Randy. He changed her room to a suite and had Cody and Ted get her luggage and bring it to the new room. Her and Randy were going to share a room on one side of the suite that had just one bed. Cody and Ted were going to share the two bed bedroom on the opposite side of the suite. Once the room switch was made and everything was in place, Randy, Ana, Ted, and Cody went to the small restaurant on the first floor and had a small dinner. Ana ate little, and Randy expected that, so he had the waiter make a to go box. They went up to the room and Cody and Ted made themselves right at home. Randy ushered Ana into their room and had her take a shower. Randy then went out into the living room and sat down next to Cody and Ted on the couch.
"How is she?" asked Ted, looking over at Randy.
"She's a bit stressed, but she'll be fine. I'm having her take a shower and get to bed. I don't want her to see what I'm gunna do to that punk," Randy growled, his eyes darkening and his tone feral.
"You know you can't put him in the hospital. He'll sue you and then what would happen to Ana?" Cody said, butting into their conversation.
"I'm not going to hurt him, I'm going to humiliate him," Randy chuckled, giving Ted and Cody one of his rare and sinister smiles.
Ted and Cody shivered, but they all froze when the bedroom door opened and Ana came out. She was dressed in the baggiest pajama pants and sweatshirt that she could find. She walked over to the couch and Ted got up, and Randy pulled her down next to him. She sat, clearly too tired to argue. She just limply leaned on his shoulder and her eyes slid closed. They stayed like that for about an hour, but Randy gently picked her up and was about to carry her to their room when there was a pounding at the door. Randy looked from Ted to Cody, then at the door. He handed Ana to Ted who just held her in his arms while Randy went to answer the door. Once the door was open, Randy tugged the ex-boyfriend into the room and tossed him to Cody. Cody held him still while Randy advanced.
"Ted, take Ana into our room please. I don't want her to see this," Randy growled, cracking his knuckles.
Ted did as he was asked and carried Ana into Randy's and hers room and shut the door. Ted, Cody and Randy all ganged up on Ana's ex-boyfriend and they had a little chat.
Ana woke the next morning in the hotel room, lying in bed and someone's arms were wrapped around her. She propped herself up on her elbows and looked over her shoulder to see Randy fast asleep and curled up to her. She frowned, not remembering going to bed, or having Randy sleep next to her. She yawned and stretched, carefully removing his arm and heading to the bathroom. She had to get ready for an airplane flight to Seattle and she really didn't want to look like the living dead. She took a quick shower and changed into a pair of tight fitting jeans and a baggy tee shirt that had a bunch of comic book characters on it. She dried and brushed out her hair, then applied some concealer to hide the dark circles. She pulled on her sweatshirt to hide the bruises on her arms and then went back into the bedroom. Randy was still passed out on the bed, but this time he was lying on his stomach and snoring lightly. Ana sighed and walked over to his side of the bed and grabbed a pillow that he must have tossed to the floor.
"Randal Keith Orton! Wake up this instant!" she shouted, whacking his boxer clad butt with the pillow.
Randy lurched awake and rolled away from Ana, but fell off the other side of the bed. He groaned and sat up, rubbing the back of his head.
"What was that for?" he grumbled, coming to his feet.
"You need to get ready for the flight. It's going to leave in three hours and I'd like to get there early so I can get a good place in line," she snapped, throwing the pillow at him.
Randy caught the pillow and just sighed. Ted and Cody were still asleep as well and Randy looked over at Ana. She smirked and nodded, getting the same idea.
"Let's pull a prank, shall we?" asked Ana in a whisper.
"Lets," Randy chuckled, nodding his head.
Ana screamed at the top of her lungs and Randy started to pound on the walls with a huge smile on his face.
"Oh God, Randy no! Please, don't hurt me! Randy! Ted! Cody! Help me!" Ana screamed, trying to hold in her laughter as the two thrashed on the bed and came to their feet.
Randy and Ana hid behind the couch and the only way that was possible was for Ana to lie down and have Randy lie on top. Once Ted and Cody were searching the living room frantically, tossing cushions every which way, Randy and Ana burst out laughing. Ted and Cody just glared at them and stormed back into their room to get dressed, seeing as how they were only clad in their boxers. Ana and Randy looked at each other, huge smiles on their faces. Randy could feel every one of her curves pressed against him and she was so warm. He leaned down and before he knew what he was doing, he kissed her. She gasped and her hands came to rest on his shoulders. Ted and Cody came out of their room and cleared their throats, making Randy and Ana pull away from each other. Ana had a bright red blush grace her cheeks and Randy just laughed at how she was reacting. He eased off of her and then pulled her to her feet. Ted, Cody and Randy talked about their plans for the day as Ana finished packing. Once she was ready to go and had all her luggage by the door, Randy took one of her hands and led her out of the hotel.
"What about Ted and Cody?" she asked, looking up at Randy.
"They're going to meet us at the airport, but there is someplace I want to show you first," Randy said, looking down at her and giving her a smile.
"It better be good," she grumbled, glancing around them.
"You'll love it. And, once we get there, I have a surprise for you," he said, opening the passenger side door to a rental car and helped her in.
Ana was nervous, after all, she was with the Apex Predator of the WWE. Randy drove them out to a local fudge and ice cream store and watched as her eyes widened and a huge smile lit up her face.
"How did you know I love this place?!" she nearly shouted at him, spinning in her seat and hugging his arm.
"I called a few people and made plans for you since I knew you had a rough past few days. Do you really like this place that much?" Randy chuckled, looking over at her as he unbuckled his seatbelt.
"Yes! They have the best fudge and chocolate cookies ever! How could anyone not know of this place?!" she said excitedly, quickly unbuckling her seatbelt and climbing out of the car to jog into the store.
"Wait up! For Pete's sake woman, slow down!" Randy said, jogging in after her.
He nearly ran into Ana when she had stopped to look at the peanut butter and chocolate fudge bars. Randy stopped at her side and placed a hand at the small of her back. She looked up at him and smiled happily.
"These are the best ones, but the ice cream is really good. You should get some to take with you!" she said, taking his hand and dragging him down the counter to the ice cream section.
Randy just watched her as she picked out her favorite ice cream and ordered two waffle cones. Once she paid for it, and got them in her hands, she handed one to Randy and just smiled up at him. She led him to the outside sitting area and sat down at one of the back tables. Randy sat next to her and carefully licked his ice cream cone. He would glance over at her every few licks and felt something in his chest twist painfully. Her grey eyes were gentle and happy, her soft giggles sending shivers down his spine. He finished off his ice cream and watched as she struggled to finish hers. He chuckled and took a chunk of her ice cream from her cone and laughed when she gave him a glare.
"That was mine!" she said angrily.
"You want it back?" Randy growled, leaning closer.
"Yes I do," she growled back right before she rammed her lips against his and shoved her tongue in his mouth.
Randy was taken by surprise and just sat there, trying to figure out what just happened. His eyes were wide and his mouth hung open as Ana pulled back to look at him.
"Thank you. Now, we need to get to the airport for out flight," Ana said, getting up and finishing off her ice cream cone.
She left Randy at the table to watch her saunter off to the car and wait for him. Randy looked away for just a second, but Ana's shrill scream of pure pain got him moving. Her ex-boyfriend had her on the ground and was kicking her with all his might.
"You thought some group of beef boys is going to scare me? You're wrong to think that you could get away from me bitch!" her ex-boyfriend shouted as he stomped on her ribcage.
Randy had seen enough. He grabbed Adrian by his shaggy hair and pulled him off Ana. He threw the boy into a table and stopped to glance down at Ana. He was about to head towards Adrian, but stopped when he felt a hand grab onto his jeans. He looked down and Ana was hanging onto his pants.
"Don't…do it…Randy…" she wheezed, struggling to get up.
Randy knelt by her and carefully pulled her into his arms. She gasped in pain and he stilled as she adjusted herself.
"Leave the…trash for the…dogs…" she gasped, pulling herself up and using Randy's shoulders for a hand hold.
Randy just nodded and pulled out his cell phone. He called Ted and Cody, then called Vince. Randy explained the situation to their boss and the cops suddenly arrived on the scene. Ted and Cody weren't far behind, and they dragged over Adrian and held him for the cops to take away. Randy didn't let Ana go. She stayed in his arms, safe from everyone. Vince showed up and steered clear of Randy, seeing as how he growled at everything that came near him. The police didn't dare get close, even to ask him to let Ana go.
Ted and Cody were the only ones that Randy let near him and even they struggled to get him to listen.
"Randy, let me up please. I need something to drink," she said softly, trying to get up.
Randy just growled and tightened his grip on her.
"Randal Keith Orton, let me up this instant or your life will become a living hell," Ana snapped, giving him a gentle shove away from her.
Randy just growled and let her get up, taking Cody's offered hand. Vince greeted her with a smile and ushered her to a bench so that she could sit down. Randy wasn't far behind, sitting behind Ana and pulling her back into his arms. Ana just sighed and took the ice cold bottle of water that Ted held out for her.
"Ana, we are going to have to give you a body guard in order to keep you safe. And it looks like I don't have to pick one. Randy Orton will be your body guard until this matter is resolved. Ted and Cody are welcome to be alternate guards if you choose. But until then, you are not to set foot in the ring until you are medically cleared and this matter is finished," Vince said, handing her the keys to a hotel room.
Ana just nodded and clawed her way out of Randy's arms. He followed close behind her, but was stopped when Vince grabbed his forearms and pulled him back down onto the bench. Ana went to their rental car and got in, slamming to door shut. Randy allowed Vince to pull him back down and looked at him.
"She'll be very emotional the next few weeks. Keep a close eye on her and try to make it as painless as possible. If you don't you have me to answer to," Vince said sternly.
Randy just nodded and motioned for Ted and Cody to get in the rental car with Ana. He headed over to them and climbed in, not even daring to look at any of them. He drove them to the airport and they all boarded the flight to Seattle.
