Birthday Surprises

Chapter 2: A walk

Neil and Suezanne

The group split ways. Jen and Ryan started off toward the strip. Suezanne and Neil crossed the road and set off for the beach. As they started to walk Neil reached for Suezanne's hand. She almost pulled away from shock. (Almost). Once they got on the beach they decided to walk up to the peir. As they were walking they say the sun starting to set.

"It looks beautiful." Suezanne said looking out over the ocean.

"Yes it is. Almost as beautiful as you." Neil said smiling. Suezanne blushed and looked at him.

"Thats so sweet of you." She replied. They kept walking until they passed a guy selling roses.

"Would you like a rose for the lady?" The guy asked. Neil looked at Suezanne then turned back to the guy.

"I will take a dozen if I could please." Neil and the peddler traded and the peddler walked off.

"These are for you! I wish we had met before." Neil said handing her the roses. Suezanne smiled and sniffed the roses before replying.

"Thank you. We have met before. It was just under a year ago. Though there was a couple hundred people around and you were very busy. I am not surprised you don't remeber." She said.

"Which concert was it?" Neil asked her trying to remember meeting her. Though he couldn't remember every fan he had met, he was sure he would remember her.

"It was Concord New Hampshire. Jen was there too. That was where we met. I was able to get you and most of the others to sign my shirt." Suezanne explained.

"I remember. You forgot to bring a marker. I remeber Jen now too. She gave me the guitar pick." Neil said thinking.

"Yes thats us." Suezanne said laughing slightly. They continued on walking and talking till it was way past night fall. When they finally looked at the time they were both shocked.

"Still can't believe it is five till midnight." Suezanne said as they turned around to head back to the hotel. Even though it had been so long since they had left they had not gotten far.

"Time flies when you are having fun. I am glad you came here to Myrtle Beach the same time we did." he replied.

"Me too. I guess we all had the same idea." The continued walking till they reached the hotel.

"Well this is me. You wanna get a cab to your hotel?" Suezanne asked not knowing they were staying in the same hotel.

"Actually this is where we are staying too. Tenth floor." Neil explained to her.

"Oh wow. Jen and I are on the same floor as you." They entered the hotel and headed for the elevator where they met Jen and Ryan.

Ryan and Jen

Five hours earlier.

"So is there anything that you wanted to see?" Ryan asked as they walked down the road.

"Nothing spacific. Just seeing it is fun. This is my first time here." Jen explained. Ryan nodded understanding.

"Same here. Haven't had much off time lately. With all the shows and practices." Ryan explained. Jen nodded at this.

"It must be hard being away from home all the time?" Jen asked.

"It is a little but seeing all of the fans. Makes all of the difference. Plus we get to go places we haven't got to before. Always something new to see." Ryan told her.

"How about checking out over there?" Ryan asked. It was a haunted house. The line wasn't very long.

"Looks like fun." Jen said, she shuddered on the inside. She did not like anything scary. Or not knowing where you were going.

"How many tickets?" The guy at the window asked.

"Two please." Ryan said handing over the money. The guy handed over the tickets and told them where to head.

"So how much do you like haunted houses?" Ryan asked as Jen was nervous about entering.

"Not my most favorite thing but gotta get over my fears." They entered the buildings and it went black almost immediately. 'Oh lord oh lord' Jen was thinking in her head. Ryan grabbed her hand lead her through. Two guys jumped out of a black space, one had a chain saw, Jen jumped back into Ryan's arms.

"Careful sweet heart." Ryan said. The continued on and Jen jumped in to Ryan's arms twice more. As they entered the last room they could not see a thing. A person dressed as a zombie jumped out and grabbed Jen's arm. Jen jumped back into Ryan's arms again. As Ryan held Jen the lights came on. Ryan looked Jen in the eyes. All of Jen's fears melted away looking in to his bent his head slightly and kissed her. They walked out of the haunted house.

"So how was that?" Ryan asked as they started walking down the road.

"It wasn't as bad as I thought." Jen said smiling largely. Ryan smiled sweetly back at her. As they walked they found a flower station.

"Could I please get, a dozen roses?" Ryan asked. The lady handed over the flowers.

"Thank you ma'am." Ryan handed the roses to Jen with a kiss. As they continued walking they looked at all of the vendors. They came across a few carnival games. Jen tried the first game which was darts. She popped one ballon and won a small prize. Ryan tried his hand at it and popped four ballons.

"Which one you want. You can have any one you want." The vendor said. Ryan looked at Jen, and said, "Which one do you want?" Jen looked at them all. She finally choose a large blueish grey bear with a large heart on it. It said, 'I love you'. "We'll take that one sir." Ryan handed the bear to Jen with a hug and kiss.

"Thank you." Jen said. They continued walking down the strip. As they got to the end they noticed the time.

"Looks like it's getting a little late." Ryan said looking at his watch. They both looked down the strip from where they had come. Neither of them were looking forward to walking all the way back. Ryan waved his hand and caught a cab.

"Where too?" The cabbie asked. "To the Camelot Hotel." Ryan said as he closed the door after helping Jen in. The cab took off down the road.

"Is that where you are staying?" Jen asked.

"Yes, I figured we could walk to your hotel from there." Ryan said with a sweet smile. "Well we wouldn't have to walk far. I am staying there on the tenth floor." Jen said with a small laugh. Ryan laughed as well. "Sounds good. I can walk you too your door then." The cab pulled up to the curb right across from the hotel.

"Thank you sir." Ryan said as he handed the cabbie the money. Ryan held on too Jen's hand as they walked. He held the door open for her. 'He is such a gentleman.' Jen thought as she smiled at him. They both waved to the lady behind the counter. As they entered the elevator, they heard a yell to hold the door. It was Neil and Suezanne.

"Hey, Ryan and Jen. How was your evening?" Neil asked as they hit the button for the floor.

"It was lovely!" Jen said showing off her new bear and roses. Suezanne smiled and showed her roses. Both men lead the girls to their door and said good-bye. Suezanne gave Neil her number so he call if they wanted to hang out the next day. As Suezanne got in her pj's and climbed in bed her cell went off. 'Goodnight beautiful.' Suezanne smiled and fell asleep.
