Chapter Two
Author's Note: I finally found my old notebook that had my notes for this story and after a long period of writer's block I can finally write on my stories once again. Thank god.

No one had seen Stephanie McMahon since the story of TMZ broke out. Gossip had made it's way through every inch of the WWE Locker room. Dean had been backstage when he heard once again about the scandal. The Lunatic Fringe tried to push the whispers out and just zone out and try to focus on getting ready for his match against Seth at Summerslam. He didn't have time for the new drama on the McMahons.
He continued to wrap his wrists as Seth came into the locker room. Seth took a place next to the older man and pulled out his bag. Just having the younger man next to him made any nerves he had about the upcoming match just fizzle away. Seth was his anchor.
"I have something I need to tell you." Seth muttered. Dean froze almost instantly. He had been dating the Architect for the last year and three months. He hates when they have to have a serious talk. The younger man almost started laughing then and there. "It's nothing bad. I think." The two tone scratched behind his head, trying to think of the best way to say what they were supposed to do.
"Just get on with it." Dean interjected, impatience clear on his face. Dean Ambrose was not known for his patience. Seth took a deep breath as he looked at his boyfriend.
"They want me to put your head through cinderblocks on Monday Night RAW following Summerslam." Dean's eyes widened as the words left the two tone's mouth. Of course he was on the butt end of the Authority.
Dean flared in anger. "Are you kidding me? How fucking stupid is the Authority being?! Do they want me to be disabled or something." He only got more angry seeing the smile on Seth's face. "What's so funny?! The Authority is literally trying to kill me now!" Seth could no longer hold back his laughter.
"Now if you weren't so impatient and let me finish I would tell you that they are going to be breakaways so could go work on your new movie." The two tone added in. He was so proud of Dean. In light of the recent scandal racking WWE and it's executives, Dean Ambrose landed the role of John Shaw in the new 12 Rounds movie following behind in the footsteps of John Cena and Randy Orton. "Hunter ordered it so you wouldn't have to juggle trying to make the movie and do your duties with being a WWE Superstar. He only had your best interest in mind." Dean scuffed.
"If you say so."
The rest of the night had come and gone. The show had been successful and the hype was up for the upcoming pay-per-view. Some of the superstars had decided to stop at the bar in the hotel for a pre-Summerslam party. The bar had been closed off to any one who wasn't within the WWE, paid for exclusively by the Authority.
Dean did not want to go but of course Seth and Roman dragged him along to the bar. The last thing he wanted to hear about was once again more gossip on the McMahons. It just felt wrong to him. So now, he was sitting at the bar with a shot of whiskey sitting in front of him as Seth was off god knows where with Roman within the mass of superstars.
A tv was pinned up to the wall behind the bar that he causally looked at so it looked like he was busy. He just wanted left alone while his best friend and boyfriend got their social time. He cursed in his mind. He enjoyed drinking from time to time but he really didn't feel like being here tonight. He would rather be in his hotel room, pretending to try and be asleep.
His gaze moved back up to the TV and he rolled his eyes once he realized what was playing. Of course it had to be TMZ. He could somewhat hear what the 'news' people where saying. Pictures of the McMahons and Triple H came up onto the screen. Soon all of the superstars quieted down once they saw what was on the television. Now with the silence he could hear everything that was being said.
"Sources have once again come to us at TMZ about the recent article we posted over the McMahons. We now have confirmation from a former nurse from St. Marianna's Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut that a baby was indeed kidnapped from the hospital the night of December seventh of 1985. It was also confirmed that the gender of the baby was a male." One of the males stated looking down a manila folder in his hand before he stopped and looked up.
A female jumped in and added, "The mother of the child is believed to be Stephanie McMahon and the father is her now husband, Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Reportly CEO of WWE, Vince McMahon was seen arguing with his wife Linda McMahon the night of the birth."
The head man looked among them. "I do absolutely believe that Vince McMahon might have played a part in what happened that night. We so far don't have any sources of what was said between McMahon and his wife. At this time that's all we have on the story. For now, this is TMZ and we will see you next time."
The murmurs started up again and Dean quickly down the rest of the liqour before taking off towards the superstar wing. He just had this feeling that he needed to go see Stephanie. She had practically been a ghost since the first story broke out.
It didn't take him long before he had made it to the floor he knew Stephanie was staying at. Hunter had been down at the bar with the others and most likely had seen the broadcast but he hadn't seen Hunter leave. Could be that he wasn't paying attention.
Dean finally made it to Stephanie's room, contemplating if he should knock or leave. Finally after a moment, he knocked softly on the door. He could hear the shuffle across the floor before finally the door opened revealing a disheveled Stephanie McMahon.
"Dean? What are you doing here?" She asked softly, her voice raspy and her eyes red. It had been obvious she had been crying. Dean scratched at his collar bone, even he was unsure on why he showed up at her door.
He sighed and looked at his boss. "I just wanted to check on you. With everything with the media. Just wanted to make sure you were okay." His words even shocked himself. Stephanie looked at the superstar with wide eyes. This was really out of character for Dean. It was no secret that he didn't like the Authority. So why was he here? Stephanie looked out in the hall both ways before opening up the door more and ushering the Lunatic Fringe into the room. Dean got the hint that Stephanie wanted this to be private and went inside without hestitation.
"This really is a surprise, Dean. You are the last person I would expect here." Stephanie said as she went over to the fridge and pulled out a bottle of liqour. "Would you like a drink?" Dean gave a quick nod and the Billion Dollar Princess poured two glasses and handed the WWE superstar one.
"I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing here. I'm a person to follow my heart and my gut and something just told me to come see you." the younger man whispered, taking a small drink from the cup. The taste of the liqour was sweet and strong. It had to be expensive. Of course, only the best for Stephanie McMahon.
Stephanie sighed and took a seat on the bed. "I know you are here about the TMZ broadcast. I'm fine, Dean. I've been living with this for twenty nine years." So it was true. Stephanie did have a baby that night in 1985. "It was the best night of my life, my baby boy had been born. Than he was ripped away from me within hours. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. Is he alive? Dead? Is he happy? Does he have a family of his own. So many questions and so much memories that could have been. I was young but I would have done anything for him." Stephanie explained, more tears pouring down her face. She had completely broken, in front of Dean Ambrose of all people. She wasn't sure why she was telling him all this. It's not like they work very closely together or have a relationship outside of WWE.
Dean walked over to the bed and took a spot next to Stephanie. He brought the older woman into his arms as she completely broke down and she cried into his shirt, almost instantly drenching the thin fabric of his tank top. Everyone within WWE knew that Dean wasn't keen on touch. Almost as if you touched him he would catch fire. Stephanie just clutched onto the young man and cried harder. Her son would have been Dean's age. Ironically enough, Dean Ambrose and her own son had been born on the same day.
"You remind me a lot of my mother, Stephanie. She was an incredibily strong woman. Could kick ass and drop someone in a hard beat. Don't let this get you down. I'm sure your son is out there somewhere, waiting for the day he finally gets to meet you. You deserve to know him, Stephanie." Dean whispered, rubbing small circles into Stephanie's back as he spoke. "It's also okay to break down from time to time. The person you loved most aside from Hunter was taken from you. You have every right to be feeling what you are right now. It's a mother's love. It's pain from not being there. Someday, Steph, you will be reunited." He hummed softly, a song that he always seemed to hum. He knew the song was Hey Jude by the Beatles but his mother never sang it to him. It just seemed right.
Stephanie had calmed down and leaned back up. Almost horrified with herself to practically laying on top of Dean. "I'm so sorry." Dean just gave a smile. His dirty blonde curls falling into his blue eyes.
"It's really no big deal, Stephanie. Like I said, you have every right to break down." He said softly before going back to humming along with the song. Stephanie had automatically recognized it. A small smile perked up on her lips. She used to sing that same song to her son when he was still in the womb. "I should probably get back, Seth and Roman have got to be looking for me." He stated and got up from the spot he had taken and placed the glass down in the sink and gave it a quick wash. "Have a good night. I really do hope that you see exactly how strong you are. Don't let this get to you. They are voltures praying on you for money." Dean went to leave when Stephanie got up and wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him close.
"Thank you so much, Dean." She whispered, pulling back with a smile. "My wish is my son is at least half the man you are."
The dirty blonde gave her a smile before leaving the room. There was so much more to Stephanie than she let on and for her to show that to him. It made him feel good. He was doing something right for the first time in his life.
