Ch 2:

They warped back to the temple after a short yet pleasant visit with the watermelon Stevens.

"Looks like your little 'mini-me' friends are doing as good as ever, yo," Amethyst said with a laid back smile as she plopped onto the couch, resting her hands behind her head.

"It certainly does seem like those beings are progressively growing more intelligent each time we visit with them," Pearl chimed in.

"Yeah! It really is nice to see how far they've come since they were first created," Steven stated happily as he stood beside the couch Amethyst currently took over. "I'm pretty proud of them."

Garnet, with a warm and gentle smile on her face, came up beside Steven and lightly ruffled his hair affectionately.

"As you should be, Steven."

Steven grinned back up at her.

"So? What now?" Amethyst asked no one in particular while she sat up.

"Well we don't currently have any missions to worry about at the moment," Pearl said as she placed a pale finger on her chin thoughtfully. "Which is a bit odd if you ask me."

Steven suddenly gasped, taking everyone else by surprise as they all looked at him wide-eyed.

"Steven?" Amethyst asked, raising an eyebrow curiously.

"I totally forgot!" Steven exclaimed with a face palm. "I promised Lapis and Peridot I'd go and pay them a visit today." He started towards the door, grabbing his hamburger backpack on his way. "I can't break my promise to them."

"Now Steven, don't be too long," Pearl called out to him. "I'm going to start making dinner for you shortly."

"Got it!" Steven called back as he stood in the doorway. He paused and turned back once more. "You want to come along, Amethyst?"

"Nah, I'm good here," The purple gem responded with her eyes shut and a short hand wave to him. "Tell P-Dot I said hi."

"Alright, be back in a bit." Steven shut the door behind him and hurried down the steps.

He looked around him and placed both hands on either side of his mouth as he called out.

"Liiioon!"

Lion came bounding from behind the house at the sound of Steven's voice. He growled a soft greeting, his expression neutral.

"Hey there, Lion," Steven replied with a warm grin. "Wanna go visit with Peridot and Lapis?"

Lion grunted once more, lowering himself to the ground.

Steven laughed, climbing on.

"I thought you might! I bet you're as excited to see them as I am!"

Hey guys, hope you all liked that little bit :) I'll have more up on here shortly. Feel free to review.
