Here we go next chapter! You guys could listen to Mirror Mirror from the White trailer if you want. I'll put some lyrics to help you visualize what parts of the song are playing.

A soft piano began to play as Weiss slowly stepped into the spotlight and she immediately felt the gaze of more than a hundred guests lock onto her. No matter how many times she performed, the uncomfortable sensation of anxiety never failed to make itself known. It was unnerving how everyone in the large theater was watching your every move and one slip-up could ruin the entire evening. However, she pushed all of that to the back of her mind at the moment and readied herself as the piano continued to play softly.

Mirror,

Tell me something,

Tell me who's the loneliest,

Of all…..

Emerald sat along the aisle near the stage while the Schnee heiress continued her song. She wore a modest dark green dress that reached up to her mid-thigh along with some thin white gloves that covered most of her arm. Discreetly glancing around, she noticed that most of the audience had already been enraptured by the girl's performance. Even Emerald had to admit that the girl had some serious talent.

She almost felt bad about what they were about to do to her.

The key word was "almost".

Glancing up into the VIP box, she could see the rest of the Schnee family watching with their undivided attention. Their eyes were brimming with silent pride but they would soon be filled with horror in the next few minutes.

Mirror,

What's inside me?

Tell me can a heart be turned….

.to stone?

The beautiful and yet sad lyrics reverberated around the theater as the musicians kicked up the tempo a bit. It was the build up for the big finish and everyone knew it because they were already on the edge of their seats. There was no doubt that every single member of the audience would be giving her a standing ovation. Heck, Emerald would've done the same if it weren't for the fact that she was about to die once the song finished.

"Get ready." She spoke softly into the small microphone hidden in her gloves.

She may not particularly like her partner and while they bantered to often annoy one another, Emerald respected his skills and he did the same for her. She had faith that Mercury would not miss his mark but even on the miniscule chance that he did, there were contingencies in place. This was the main reason she was masquerading as one of the audience.

Failure wasn't an option tonight.

I'm the loneliest…..

of all

Emerald smirked. Any moment now and her pretty little brain would be splattering everywhere.

Unfortunately for her, and everyone else in attendance, no one could have predicted what happened next.

I'm the loneliest…..

of all

Weiss sang her final line and she opened her eyes, expecting a thundering applause for her most heartfelt performance she had ever displayed. But the sight that greeted her were looks of shock and confusion as the audience stared at something above her. She followed their gaze and found herself mimicking their expressions of bewilderment.

"Fear not citizens, for it is I! The great Opera Phantom!" A figure from one of the backstage balconies exclaimed. A spotlight trained on him as he grabbed one of the ropes and swung down onto the stage next to her.

Weiss could only stand there in stunned silence as he walked around the stage until he was standing a little to the left in front of her and laughed dramatically like some crazed maniac.

Now that she got a look of him up close, she could see that he was wearing some sort of ridiculous costume that consisted of a long billowy cape, a large black top hat that sat on his messy blond hair, and a plain white mask that was set in a smile. He raised his cape using his right hand and completely obscured her view from the audience.

"I have come to seek vengeance for my beloved who was wrongfully murdered so long ago!" He wailed in mock anger and sorrow. "Do you hear me Delilah? YOU SHALL BE AVENGED!"

Who the devil is this lunatic?

All throughout his over the top ramblings, he kept his cape raised to shield her from view for some reason. She could hear the crowd's murmuring growing louder. They must have gotten over their shock and were now riled up. Weiss could already hear them booing and crumpled pieces of trash were being thrown at the masked assailant. The heiress couldn't really blame them because he ruined a perfect concert and it was her last one! The nerve of this guy…

She was about to walk up to him and start giving him a tongue lashing that he won't ever forget but she never got the chance because…

"Before I go, I have one final performance to make that will prove to you that I am indeed a Phantom!" The masked man said, dodging a random piece of tomato. "Now you see me, but soon you won't!"

That was when all of the lights turned off and all hell broke loose.

"Emerald, what the fuck is happening down there?" Mercury spoke into his earpiece while he adjusted his sniper scope to night-vision.

"That asshole must have cut the power or something." Emerald said. The assassin could hear lots of screaming and panicking from the microphone. "I'm going after them to finish the job. Just get out of there and meet me at the rendezvous."

"Shit." Mercury cursed and quickly began to pack his things.

If he had just taken the shot when he had the chance, the mission would have been a success. A second's worth of hesitation was all it took for some prick to ruin everything. It was so unexpected that even Mercury let himself get distracted for a moment and before he knew it the man was already on stage blocking his view of the target with that stupid cape he was wearing.

It was a rookie mistake on Mercury's part and now it was up to his partner to get the job done using their contingency plans.

"Unhand me this instant!" Weiss demanded as she felt herself being forcefully dragged by the arm. "Do you know who I am?!"

"As a matter of fact, I do Weiss Schnee." Her captor responded. She couldn't see him in the dark and she had no idea where he was taking her but she could tell that they were in one of the backstage corridors. "But don't worry. I'm not here to kidnap you if that's what you're thinking."

"Oh, really? Because it sure looks like you're kidnapping me!" She screamed at him, hoping to draw attention to anyone that might be nearby.

"I promise that what I'm doing right now is for your best interest."

Surely there must be some security personnel out there looking for her or at least some crew member could at least bump into them. However, with the lights and even the emergency lights out, it was going to be considerably difficult to know exactly what was going on. She could only imagine the chaos that was happening back at the main concert hall.

Which begged the question: How on Remnant was this guy navigating the hallways with such precision and little hesitation? He barely even stopped to gather his bearings and just moved as if he knew where he was going. She had hoped that he might have faltered at least once and maybe then she could take advantage of his momentary pause and perhaps escape.

Damn it, if only she had brought Myrtenaster with her then maybe she wouldn't have been in this sort of situation.

"Stop." He told her as they slowed to a halt.

Now was her chance!

Using her free arm, she extended two of her fingers and started to form a glyph underneath her. A simple Anti-Gravity effect should do the trick. It would cause him to lose balance in the midst of levitation and she would use that opening to create another glyph to propel her in the other direction.

She activated her semblance and a glowing black circle appeared beneath them.

"Whoa!" He exclaimed in surprise and just as she planned, his grip on her arm slackened considerably. Acting quickly, Weiss jerked her arm free and she formed another glyph beneath her feet that would send her flying down the other end of the hall.

"Wait! You don't understand!" Her captor said frantically while trying to stay upright in zero gravity. "I'm trying to help you!"

"Yeah, right," Weiss muttered to herself before launching off her glyph.

She skidded to a halt a few meters down the hall and hastily ran away from her would be kidnapper. Keeping one hand on the wall, she was able to somewhat navigate around the corridors. She didn't stop moving one she felt the wall turn into a sharp corner and instead continued onwards while using the walls as her guide. Weiss took it as a good sign when she didn't hear any sign of pursuit.

The police must already be here securing a perimeter and searching the building given the amount of time that had elapsed. Her own personal bodyguards were surely looking for her as well. Any moment now and she was bound to run into someone…

However, now that she thought about it, where were her bodyguards? They should have been stationed backstage keeping an eye out for any notable threats and yet some lunatic with a mask was able to slip by them unnoticed? It was preposterous. They were some of the best agents in Atlas.

So where were they?

As she pondered on these thoughts, Weiss began to hear the faint sounds of wailing sirens while walking through the darkness. That could only mean that she was close to finding an exit. With renewed vigor, she increased her pace to a steady jog while following the sounds coming from outside.

Suddenly, without warning, the lights turned back on and she found herself standing face to face with one of her bodyguards.

"Hugo, thank goodness I've found you!" Weiss exclaimed in relief. She rushed toward him while he looked just as relieved as she did.

"Miss Schnee, we've been looking everywhere for you! Are you hurt?" Her bodyguard asked as he began to check her for any signs of injuries.

"I'm fine. I managed to get away." Weiss explained. "We should still hurry though. He might still be chasing me."

Hugo nodded and took out a gun from his coat. "I agree. We should hurry this along."

Weiss allowed a small smile break out on her face once she heard that. Soon, this entire evening could be written off as a bad dream and she could rest easily now. This whole night turned out to be a major disaster and she wanted nothing more than for this day to end.

She heard rushing footsteps coming from behind them and she turned to see her blonde captor running toward them. Well, it seems like he caught up to her after all but it didn't matter now. He was outnumbered and outclassed two to one. Hugo was her head of security after all.

"Look out!" The blond teen called out, which was an odd thing to say. It sounded like a warning, but why would you warn the person you were trying to kidnap? It just didn't make any sense. She turned to look at Hugo to see what his reaction to this strange occurrence but unfortunately…

…all Weiss saw was the barrel of gun pointed right between her eyes.

The whole world froze right before her very eyes and her heart suddenly felt like it was doused in liquid nitrogen as Weiss forgot how to breathe. She stood rooted to her spot unable to even form any coherent thoughts at the moment. All she noticed was the sound of a gun cocking and the bead of sweat trailing down her neck.

Was she…going to die?

But then she saw something stick to the side of the gun, sending volts of electricity through the weapon. Hugo cussed as he dropped the gun while holding his right hand in pain. She also heard the sound of projectiles being fired, forcing Hugo to leap away from her.

"Are you alright?" A voice snapped her out of her reverie and brought her back to the situation at hand.

Her savior was none other than her blond captor. He had apparently ditched his ridiculous cape and top hat but decided to keep the mask. Also, she noted a strange looking device that overlapped his mask. It looked like a high-tech camera lens that he wore like an eye patch over his right eye. This must have been what allowed him to see well even in the dark.

"I-I'm fine." Her voice shook a bit due to the events that had just transpired moments ago.

"I'm glad to hear it." The blond said in a sincere tone before turning to face the man who tried to kill her. "I must say, that's an impressive Semblance. If I weren't wearing my Horus Eye then even I might have fallen for your deception. However, I think I prefer your female appearance over this illusion."

"What are you talking about?" Weiss asked confusedly. What did he mean by female?

The blond teen took off his camera like device and handed it to her without taking his eyes off of Hugo. She curiously peeked through it and gasped when she saw that a girl with dark skin and mint-green hair stood before them instead of her bodyguard. The girl was glaring at the masked teen with undisguised contempt.

"Well it doesn't matter. Now I get to kill two birds with one stone." The girl said, dispelling her illusion. She raised her gun and pointed it at the masked teen. "You die first asshole."

"By all means pull the trigger." The masked blond invited nonchalantly. He even made a show of inspecting his fingernails. His casual nature in the face of death threw both Weiss and the assassin off-guard.

"You got a death wish or something?" The green-haired girl demanded.

The blond merely responded by chuckling. "No, but you would be signing your own warrant of arrest once you pull the trigger. The police are currently searching the building and a gunshot would certainly alert them to our location. Furthermore, the more time we spend conversing means less time for you to escape. Perhaps you could kill me but you won't be able to kill Miss Schnee now that she has my gadget that allows her to see through your Semblance. I assure you, she is quite capable. But ultimately it all comes down to you my dear. You don't have a lot of options open to you at the moment so I suggest you decide quickly."

The assassin hesitated for a very long moment before lowering her weapon with a frustrated sigh.

"We'll get you for this." The assassin spat. "You better watch your back."

"Oh, before you leave, tell your partner that he should find a better seat the next time he decides to watch a concert." The masked blond couldn't seem to resist getting the last word in. "The view from the opposite building is terrible."

Weiss couldn't help but looked surprised by that revelation while the green-haired girl threw him one last look of hatred before disappearing down a corner at the end of the hall.

"I think that went well, all things considered." The teen said as he helped her back to her feet. He decided to remove his mask and Weiss finally got a first look at his face.

His most notable feature was his eyes. Deep blue orbs just seemed to penetrate into her light blue eyes. They were a bit unnerving to be honest. It was almost as if he could see your deepest darkest secrets just by glancing at you and furthermore there was something else behind those eyes and she knew exactly what it was: Fierce intelligence.

Aside from that, he looked pretty ordinary.

"You saved me." Weiss said, the mere fact just starting to sink in.

"Yes, that was the plan from the beginning." The young man said casually. "Seeing as you are still alive, I think we can call it a success."

She then surprised the both of them by what she did next. The heiress walked right up to him and wrapped her arms around his torso in a hug. She felt him stiffen as soon as she made contact.

"Thank you." Weiss whispered. She didn't know what prompted her to hug him. Maybe it was because she had been a second away from death and if it weren't for him, then she would not be here at the moment. Whatever the case, she was just glad to be alive.

The blond cleared his throat in discomfort and the two of them separated. A slight pink had dusted his cheeks which caused Weiss to smile a bit at his flustered appearance. Apparently he didn't have much experience in dealing with the opposite sex if a simple hug could get him this ruffled.

In fact, she was about to comment on this fact but the thundering boots of a SWAT team interrupted her.

"Freeze!" A gruff voice ordered as a group of heavily armored policemen pointed guns at her savior. "Step away from the girl and get down on the ground now!"

Jaune Arc, self-proclaimed genius detective, was sitting handcuffed in the back of one of Vale's police vehicles like some common criminal. He had just saved the heiress to one of Remnant's wealthiest families for Monty's sake! He shouldn't be the one in the back of this car tied like a hog waiting to be brought back to the police precinct for questioning. He was a detective damn it!

Well to be fair, he had already picked the lock from his restraints minutes ago by using a small metal wire that he kept with him at all times for instances like these. He kept his hands behind his back for the sake of appearances. There was no need to alarm the two officers he was sharing the car with.

The rest of the Schnee family would no doubt be waiting for them and it was possible that they might be extremely hostile to him once they lay eyes on him. He couldn't blame them. From an observer's standpoint, it did admittedly look like a kidnapping.

But the important thing was that he and his partner Ren had foiled yet another assassination attempt.

Now that he thought about it, where was his trusted friend?

Ren was absolutely terrified as he sat in the chair to one of the interrogation rooms. His hands were handcuffed behind the chair so that meant he couldn't even defend himself from the she-devil that was pacing back and forth in front of him.

"I'm only going to ask this once." Winter Schnee spoke in deadly tone as cold as frostbite. "Where. Is. My. Sister?"

The raven-haired teen gulped once she drew her rapier and pointed it directly under his chin.

Now would be a good time to show up and explain everything before I get murdered Jaune.

And that's a wrap! This chapter's also kinda short but I'll try to make them longer once it progresses. I bet you all have questions like why is Ren with Jaune and not Nora? Where is our favorite spunky bomber girl? Well you'll just have to keep reading and find out, won't you? So as always, leave your reviews and tell me what you think!

Oh and I've already chosen the JaunexYang pairing. I've seen a lot of good fanfics featuring these two together and thought it would be fun and interesting. I decided to post this a little earlier because why the hell not?
