Author's Note: Well people, this is the first official chapter of this story. I will be starting a new section called "Fanfic Shoutout". It's when I give a personal recommendation of a story that had an effect on this story or I just really enjoyed reading that story. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Fanfic Shoutout: I would like to give a shoutout to Sillabub 429, author of Rising Darkness. I had just finished reading the story and I thought it was AWESOME! So a big shoutout to the outstanding work done on that story.
Disclaimer: Again I do not own Sailor Moon, one of the greatest animes in my opinion, or any Sailor Moon related characters.
Summary: In this chapter, new characters are introduced who are daughters of the Sailor Senshi.
Chapter 1: The Arrival of the Princes (R):
Beep! Beep! The sound of Rini's alarm clock sounded over and over. Groggily, Rini slammed her hand on the snooze button, almost knocking her bunny clock off her pink nightstand. The clock read 8:45. "8:45," she said dreamily as she closed her eyes again. After a second, her eyes flew back open. "8:45! Oh no! I'm seriously late for class!" Rini yelled.
She approached her buzzer to call for a maid but immediately stopped herself. There's no time to call for a maid to help me. I have to get dressed and prepared by myself, she thought. She quickly brushed her teeth, took a quick cold shower (which was cold since Rini didn't have time to wait for the water to heat) and wore her uniform. As she was brushing her hair furiously, she glanced over at her calendar. Wait a minute! she thought as she quickly remembered what was going on. The Royal Academy of Crystal Tokyo, where Rini and other children of high-class attended school, was having its pre-summer break. All students got the last week of May and the first week of June off. "Ooo! You are so dead, Diana!" Rini growled to herself as she stormed out into the hallway.
Out in the hallway laughing her head off was Ariel, the princess of Mercury and eldest of Queen Ami. Standing beside Ariel was Maxine, the very tall princess of Jupiter and daughter of Queen Makoto. Diana was down at their feet, waiting for Rini to arrive. "Diana, how could you?!" Rini demanded when she finally reached the three.
"Sorry, princess! Ariel put me up to it," Diana explained. Rini gave a deathly glare to Ariel who was still howling with laughter.
She managed to get a few words out. "Sorry, but it was hilarious watching you freaking out all over the place, wondering how much trouble you would be in!" Ariel chuckled while she clutched her stomach.
"And what's your excuse, Maxine?" Rini asked as she looked at the Jovian princess. Maxine turned her head to the side so that Rini wouldn't see how much difficulty she was having trying not to laugh as well. Suddenly, she couldn't take it anymore and burst out laughing!
"I know I shouldn't be laughing but you should have seen your face when you found out you were going to be late!" she snickered. The pair continued to laugh while Rini just scowled at them. Maxine resembled her mother, Queen Makoto, with the emerald green eyes but she had really light brown hair she got from her father which she wore in pigtails. She was always so warm and sweet. However, there were some times where Rini just wanted to slap her even though she knew Maxine had enough strength to simply pick her up and throw her across the hallway without even breaking a sweat. Still, they've been friends since they were small and Rini knew Maxine was a gentle soul.
Ariel resembled Queen Ami with deep blue eyes and hair except that Ariel's hair was much longer and wavier. She was a bookworm too but she loved to pull pranks and make fun of anyone at any chance she got. Some may call her slightly rude and blunt but Ariel knew how to be a good friend and had strong passion, especially for books and knowledge. Maxine and Ariel were the same age, having turned thirteen this year.
"By the way, the reason we woke you up was because Kimiko wanted to show us her latest hologram scrapbook," Maxine said once they were finished laughing.
"Oh I see. I guess that's a good enough reason," Rini said with a shrug. She couldn't stay mad forever, after all. They all made their way towards their personal and private space. The princes and princesses liked to refer to their space as the Crystal Lounge. The appearance of the lounge was tasteful; the walls were each painted a different type of pastel colour with designed stripes and swirls and somehow managed to complement one another. There were funky couches with bean bag chairs and silver tables while a crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling. The princesses and princes always liked to gather at the lounge and just sit back on the couches and chat about random things or play games occasionally.
Kimiko, daughter of Queen Rei, made hologram scrapbooks as her hobby. Rini knew that Kimiko made many but she could never keep count. However, she did remember the time she tried to make a hologram scrapbook once. It turned out to be a complete and utter disaster. Rini couldn't even begin to describe how ugly it looked. It was at that moment she decided she would never touch another hologram scrapbook again.
"Hi girls," Kimiko greeted them as the three girls entered the room. Kimiko looked just like Queen Rei with her raven black hair pulled back into a high ponytail and the dark violet eyes. Her facial features were flawless with high, beautiful cheekbones, fair skin and sparkling eyes. She had a sophisticated quality and carried herself with confidence, making people think she was older than just thirteen. "And hello to you too Diana," she added in before reaching down and scratching Diana's ears. Diana purred; she loved it when the girls would scratch just behind her ears.
"Come." Kimiko grabbed Rini's hand. The two sat down on a couch with Ariel and Maxine joining them. She passed the hologram scrapbook to Rini. "I've been working really hard on this ever since I came back," she informed them. Kimiko was dating Prince Aeneas, the eldest son of Queen Minako of Venus. Since she was his girlfriend, she was invited personally to Venus when Queen Minako gave birth to her ninth and last son, Prince Valentino.
Aeneas and the other princes were currently off on vacation with King Endymion on the planet Astrae, a small and newly established kingdom. They were coming back today and all of the princesses were very excited for their return. Kimiko missed Aeneas a lot; she hadn't seen him since their trip to Venus.
Before they could start viewing the scrapbook, Princess Tsunami of Neptune and Princess Yume of Saturn entered the lounge. Like some of the other princesses, the two had similar appearances to their mothers. At thirteen years of age, Yume had already grown taller than her mother, Queen Hotaru, but that was where their most of their differences ended. Yume gained the same purple eyes and sonic black hair except that hers ran to the middle of her back. The turning seventeen year old Tsunami wore her inherited turquoise hair in long drop curls while her sea green eyes dazzled in the light. She supposed she received the sea green eyes from her father since her mother's eyes were darker than hers. She could never confirm this though since she never met her father. She walked over to the others with elegance and poise she learned from her mother.
Yume joined them on the couch. "Is this your new scrapbook of your trip to Venus?"
Kimiko nodded in response and opened the book. She showed her friends photos of the ceremony when Queen Minako showed her newest son to all the Venusian citizens. "Aww! He's so adorable," Maxine cooed when Kimiko showed a picture of Valentino sleeping in his yellow crib. There was another picture of Aeneas and his father, Adonis II wearing their uniforms at the dojo. Kimiko finished by showing a picture of her and Aeneas sitting in a swan boat with intertwined hands. The girls sighed lightly; they were such a cute couple. People found it slightly strange that a child of a war planet and a child of a planet of love could be together and always gossiped about it in the tabloids but the royal families and Aeneas and Kimiko couldn't care less.
"You must be pretty happy that Valentino is Queen Minako's last child," Ariel said with a smirk.
"Why do you say that?" Kimiko asked, confused.
"Oh, you know why," Ariel sang. Kimiko narrowed her eyes slightly but didn't respond. "Now there's an even bigger chance of you and Aeneas getting married so that you can be the heir to the throne. Remember, Queen Minako has no daughters." Ariel taunted her slyly.
"Shut up! You're getting too ahead of yourself…" Kimiko's voice trailed off, not knowing what to say next. Venus had strict matriarchal traditions and laws; one of them listed that in no way can a man ever possess the throne of Venus. Queens of Venus were expected to have many children and Queen Minako fully accomplished that expectation. But strangely, every single one of her children was a boy. Even if those boys were capable of the position of king, that option was clearly out of the picture. Queen Minako certainly didn't mind but the Council of Matriarchs did. They were twelve women who led the major noble families of Venus. The Queen was offered many options by the Council to make sure that she had a girl but she refused each one. If she couldn't give birth to a daughter naturally, she didn't want to have one at all.
"So, how do you think your wedding day will go?" Ariel asked teasingly with the smirk still on her face.
"Stop joking, Ariel! Those heartless jerks don't care who Aeneas marries, as long as they get a female heir to the throne," Kimiko said with a scowl. Everyone smiled when Kimiko used the term heartless jerks. It was the very same term Queen Minako used to describe the Council. At first, Queen Minako thought it was a great idea to bring back the tradition of having a council from the days before and during the Silver Millennium when Venus and the other kingdoms were re-established in this new age. But now that she did, the Council proved to be nothing more than an endless headache.
"I wonder how Kenzo would take the news!" Maxine laughed as she imagined the scenario in her head. Kenzo was Kimiko's twin and hated Aeneas with passion. Even before Aeneas started to date Kimiko, Kenzo always thought he was shallow and a show off and always reminded Aeneas of that. The hate between them was mutual and the two would get in the stupidest fights that annoyed everyone, especially Kimiko. Witnessing her brother and boyfriend fight all the time was so tiring and irritating.
"Go away, Maxine! And for the rest of you, stop laughing!" Kimiko cried as all the princesses were laughing over the possibility. Kimiko sure got her temper from Queen Rei as well.
"Man, would I kill to see that moment when the whole wedding is stopped because Kenzo and Aeneas get into a huge fight!" Yume giggled. They continued to laugh and create other wedding disaster scenarios until they heard a knock on the door. Since Tsunami was the nearest, she got up to open the door. A maid was on the other side and she curtsied to all the princesses.
"I am sorry to interrupt, my princesses, but Neo-Queen Serenity requested me to inform you that the princes and King Endymion are arriving soon," the maid began. "Please follow me to the courtyard." They nodded and got up from the seats. Kimiko closed her hologram scrapbook and followed the rest of the princesses and the maid outside to the courtyard to greet the princes.
A/N: Do you guys like the story so far? It's not much yet but don't worry, the story will start to move soon. Stay tuned for the next chapter which will be out soon. In the next chapter, the princes will be making their appearances!
EDIT:
Like I mentioned in the prologue, I have returned to do some clean up. This chapter might be one of the more altered chapters because it was really awful to be honest. Even for a twelve year old, it was pretty bad now that I look at it. I'm surprised I didn't getting more critiques than the ones I did! But now I'm coming back and using my skill and taking advice from the critiques I did get and fixing chapters. I also want to tie up loose ends for people reading the sequel that decided to come back here for reference.
