Just a heads up! The school system will be British, because I have no friggen clue what the American system is, and the characters are 15-16 years old.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"I can't believe you did that Melvin!" Marik growled.

"I was only being a good older brother!" protested the elder, folding his arms and huffing.

"What is going on out there?!" Yelled a voice from the kitchen. A woman in her early twenties stepped out of the room known as kitchen.

"Sorry Ishizu." Marik and Melvin murmured.

"Marik! You're soaking wet! What happened?!" Ishizu exclaimed.

"The weather happened. That's what." Marik answered, he stormed up the stairs and into his room.

"He is a bit of a drama queen, isn't he?" Melvin chuckled. Ishizu slapped the back of Melvin's head.

"And YOU are a bit of an idiot. Now get in that kitchen and clean those dishes!" Ishizu ordered.

Melvin obeyed and went to go wash the dishes. Isuzu climbed the stairs towards Marik's room. When she reached the door, she head furious tapping coming from the laptop keys. She knocked, once quietly, twice a little louder. Footsteps grew louder as Marik marched closer to the door. Marik swung the door open.

"What? Do you want to ridicule me too?" Marik growled.

"Marik, I want to talk to you." Ishizu said calmly. "Melvin is a little inconsiderate, don't listen to him. What did he do to upset you so much?" Marik sighed.

"Whenever I try to talk to someone, guy or girl, Melvin always interrupts! And then I never see them again! He's just so damn protective! I can look after myself ya know? You three always treat me like a baby, but I'm sixteen now! And I really thought I was gonna be friends with this one!" Marik blurted out. "I want to have a friend..."

Ishizu grasped Marik's hand, looking her brother in the eye. He had hardly any friends as it was, Melvin shouldn't be so over-protective. But she could understand why. When she was in school, Odion prevented all boys from talking to her unless he had approved of them.

"If you feel that way, I can tell Melvin to take it down a notch. But know he only does it because he loves you and doesn't want you to get hurt." Ishizu then left Marik to be alone with himself.

Marik closed the door and went back to his computer. He opened up google and searched 'pickaxes for sale'. What? He wanted to have the best Halloween costume ever! Even better than that creepy but cute albino in Melvin's year who always won the best costume prize at fancy dress discos. Even if it was like... A few months till October, he needed to start on his outfit sooner or later!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Bakura kicked a can as he walked towards his house. That Melvin was getting on his last nerve, but his brother seemed pretty decent. Maybe they could be... Friends? Bakura had never had a real friend before; the closest he had to that besides his brother was the psychotic blond himself.

Bakura tore away from his train of thought, realising he had reached his house. The lights were on, that was a good sign, but the lights were on in the study, that meant his father was home. Crap. Bakura really didn't want to see HIM.

His father was an archeologist and only came home when he had important news, or to bail Bakura out of jail. Obviously it wasn't the second one, so that meant the news was most likely bad for the white haired teen. It was probably about another girlfriend he'd gotten while in another country, about how he wanted Ryou and Bakura to meet her and bond with her etc.

He barged through the door, shaking his drenched hair on the mat. He instantly heard footsteps hurry down the stairs.

"'KURA 'KURA! You're home!" It was his twin, Ryou. "Dad's home! And he bought gifts!" Ryou held up a bag to Bakura, it was a glitzy gold bag and heavy. He reached into the bag and pulled out a gaudy necklace. There was a tag on it, but Bakura couldn't read it, it was in Arabic or something like that.

"It's so cool, isn't it 'Kura? I've got a matching one! They're called the 'Sennen Twin Rings'! It's such a mysterious name!" Ryou smiled. "By the way, Dad said he wanted to see you in his office about something."

Bakura nodded pushing past the younger, towards the study where his father was. Bakura walked slowly towards the office, not too bothered about what his father had to say to him. When he reached the door, he knocked and waited.

"Come in," came a voice known all too well by the Brit.

Bakura grudgingly pushed open the door, forcing a smile. "Father."

"Bakura," the man who had answered had dark blue hair, brown eyes, and glasses resting upon his nose in a studious way. His long hair was tied back in a casual ponytail, but some strands had escaped the band. "We need to talk."

"I gathered that much." Bakura sat down in an armchair, opposite his father. "Speak then."

"It's about your life, after school. Ryou already knows that he wants to be an archeologist like me. One day you're going to leave this house, and have no idea what to do with yourself. You're in year ten now Bakura, you need to decide something before its too late." Mr Touzuko said in a monotonic voice. "Did you come up with that yourself? Or did you find it online?" Bakura sneered. "What's next? Find friends? Get a girl? You're not gay, it's just a phase?"

"Bakura, we're talking about your life. You don't want to end up on the streets do you?" The elder raised an eyebrow. Bakura growled.

"Well, maybe I do! It's better than living here! Where my own father can't even appreciate me! I may not have brains like Ryou, I may not be straight, I may not be the perfect child. But I don't need help in how I plan my fucking future!" Bakura stood up and stormed out of the room.

"'Kura! Where are you going?!" Ryou asked nervously. Bakura didn't reply, but Ryou knew he was going to the only place he ever went on these nights...

MWAHAHAHAHAHA

Melvin finished off the dishes just in time for the doorbell to ring.

"Huh, that's weird. Odion isn't usually home until midnight." Melvin checked his watch, it was still 9:57 in the evening.

The doorbell rang persistently. The Egyptian ripped off the rubber gloves he was wearing and grabbed a carving knife. It could be a polite burglar! You never know! Marik undid the lock opening the door.

"Look, this better be fucking goo- BAKURA?! What in the name of Ra are you doing here?!" Melvin tugged Bakura inside by his trenchcoat arm.

"My daddy dearest. Yet again." The albino growled, shaking his damp hair everywhere. Melvin just laughed.

"I gather he doesn't think master criminal is a healthy job option then?" Melvin joked.

"Ra Mel! I haven't done anything worthy of the name criminal in two months! My divine father was giving me the 'what are you going to do with your future' lecture. Yet again." Bakura shrugged off his trench coat. "Can I stay here for the night? I don't want to go back to THAT place, not just yet."

"Sure. Just as long as my sister doesn't see you. And you remember the rules, avoid all contact with the first door you see upstairs." Melvin nodded, he pulled the whitette's arm towards the staircase.

"Thanks Psycho, I owe you one."

"No problem Thief. Does that mean I can-"

"You fucking touch my brother. You die." Melvin chuckled.

"Good to know, always wanted to visit the shadow realm."

Bakura grabbed a cookie sitting on a cooling rack.

"Do you mind?" He asked.

"Meh, not at all." Melvin said. "Come on, lets go." The duo walked up the stairs towards Melvin's bedroom in silence upon reaching Marik's door, Bakura smirked.

"So what are you hiding from me in there? Your shrine to Ryou?"

"Not even close, and don't you even dare go in while I'm asleep. That thing in there will probably try to kill you." Melvin ran a hand through his hair. "I'm not even kidding."

MWAHAHAHAHAHA

Sadly, Melvin only had one bed, so Bakura had to sleep on the floor. Bakura was currently thinking about what could possibly be in that room. A lion? Tiger? Bear? Oh my! Maybe it WAS a Ryou shrine! Bakura HAD to get into that room! ASATP. (As Soon As Thiefly Possible).

He glanced over at Melvin, the blond was fast asleep. Bakura snuck out of his make-shift bed on the floor, and walked softly towards the door. He carefully opened the door. Lazily, he walked towards the first door he saw on his way up. The light in the room was on, Bakura could hear furious tapping away at a keyboard. Yup, there was someone in there. Bakura aimlessly pushed the door open to reveal... That boy from the park. The boy turned, his face without any make-up was radiant. He gasped.

"YOU!" He pointed at Bakura. "What are you doing in my house?!" Bakura ran towards him. The whitette cupped one hand over the tanned other's mouth.

"Shhhh! I was just bloody looking!" Bakura hissed, he removed his hand.

"So the rumours are true! You ARE a thief!" What was his name? ...Malik accused.

"Are those rumours STILL going around?" Bakura smirked. "Anyway, we weren't introduced properly. I'm Bakura Touzuko, I'm fifteen and utterly gay. Your turn?"

"What the frig?! Why are you telling me this?!" Malik glared at him with violet eyes. Malik's eyes were the same shade as Melvin's, but there was something different in Malik's, loneliness.

"Because normally when you make friends, you have to learn something about the other person that you both have in common." The Brit stated, as if it was obvious.

"But I'm NOT gay!"

"Course not, because straight people wear lilac tank tops, eyeliner and jewellery." Bakura rolled his mahogany eyes.

"Shut up... I'm Marik Ishtar, I'm fourteen and an orphan, happy?" MaRik sighed, running his fingers through his golden hair.

"... Melvin never told me that you were orphans..." Bakura muttered. "Sorry..."

"Yeah, whatever. Now go away." Marik waved off Bakura, turning back to writing something on the computer.

"No way. Do you know how annoying a snoring Melvin is?! I'm not taking my chances sleeping with him! I hardly got a wink of sleep last time!"

"YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE?! You could have been watching me friggen sleep!" Marik exaggerated.

"Now, now. Don't be like that. Mel always told me to steer clear of this room. Anyway, I'd better be off, the Divine Father is probably 'worried sick' about me. I shall remember to... Thank your sister for the delicious chocolate chip cookies next time."
