A/N: Written for the AU Diversity Boot Camp, prompt #033 – train. Also written for the 100_poems challenge on livejournal, poem 57/100 and day 24. The AU for this one is: "Harry chooses to go on instead of return to life"

Ripples to a Tide
2. The Train that Goes On

Harry picked his train:
a gold-thread red engine
that drew him in.

The other followed, saw him in
and closed the door behind
and waved merrily from the platform
as the train withdrew.

Harry stuck his head out
and waved right back
until the man faded from sight.

He was a little sad, but the happiness
was that he'd, for the first time,
been seen off, by someone there
for him alone.
