Brennan sighed and pressed an ear against her daughters door. She could hear soft sniffling and whimpering. Booth and her had just broken the news to Christine about Sweets. It hadn't gone well. She supposed it made sense, for the three months that Booth was in prison all Christine had as a male figure was Sweets. She had to admit, it was nice. Sweets and Daisy made sure Christine did childhood things that she was too busy or too rigid to do with Christine. Another plus was that Sweets was an intellectual, he helped her better her daughter. She hadn't realized how smart Sweets was till then, she knew he had to smart but she hadn't any idea to the extent. They had all become very close.

"She still crying?" Booth murmured, walking up behind her.

"Yes... maybe we should talk to her." Brennan said but then the door opened up. There stood Christine, rubbing her little eyes and sniffling.

"You wanna talk?" She whispered, looking up to them.

"Come here." Booth said, picking her up and kissing her forehead. "It's okay, baby."

"I miss 'im." She murmured, cuddling into his shoulder.

"So do we." Brennan said, rubbing her back.

"It's not fair!" She said as she curled up her fist in her father's shirt.

"I know it's not, sweetheart..." Booth said, rocking her back and forth.

"Booth, may I talk to her alone?" Brennan asked, biting her lip. Booth blinked at her before nodding and sitting his daughter down. He walked away and Brennan led Christine back into her room and over to the bed. Christine sniffled, sitting down on the bed.

"Honey... I know you and Uncle Sweets had gotten really close over the last few months." Brennan sighed, putting a hand on her back.

"He was so nice to me..." Christine sniffled.

"He was. Uncle Sweets was there for us when Booth couldn't be here... He has been a big part of our lives the last three months. I'm in the same boat as you, metaphoricly speaking of course." Brennan said, drawing her girl closer to herself. "We have to be strong..."

"I don't wanna be strong." Christine sniffled. "I wanna go to the park with Uncle Sweets and Daisy."

"We both know that's not possible, honey."

"I know... Because Uncle Sweets is dead, like that squirrel that Daisy hit with the car when they brought me to the Smithsonian." Christine said, rubbing her eyes.

"Yes, and that was a good comparasion, Christine, they were both killed and both of them died from blunt force trauma. You're language and comprehension skills are improving." Brennan tried to smile at her daughter, who let out a small, laugh-like sound.

"Thank you, Mommy, Uncle Sweets always said that I was a smart cookie." Christine smiled lightly up at her mother.

"I never understood that moniker, I don't see how a cookie could be intellegent." Brennan said before smiling back at her daughter. "But I agree with that statement. You are a smart cookie."

"Uncle Sweets was going to teach me to play the paino." Christine said, digging her face into her mother's side. "He wanted to wait... intill I was a little older."

"You could still learn if you want to, I could find you a tutor."

"No..." She said, shaking her head.

"Okay, if that's what you want."

"Is Daddy going to be okay?" Christine asked. "He and Uncle Sweets was close. I can tell he's sad."

"Your father... your father needs us right now. That's why we have to be strong. Sweets... he was family to your daddy and Daddy was family to him. Sweets worked very hard to be here for us while Daddy was away... and now, Daddy is the one hurting, but Sweets isn't here to help him. So... we have be here for him, like Sweets was for us when Daddy was gone." Brennan said, hugging her. "Do think you can do that?"

"I can... for Uncle Sweets." Christine smiled, sniffling again.

"For Uncle Sweets. The best reason we need, right?"

"Right."

"Hello?" Brennan asked, peaking the door open to see Daisy there. She had on a dress with happy colors and there was a bag slung over her shoulder. "Miss Wick?"

"Came to take Christine to the park... I know I'm a few days late but..." Daisy bit her lip and looked down at the ground.

"I understand..." Brennan said. "Are you sure you want to take her alone?"

"I'll be fine. I'll be taking little Lance here places by myself soon enough." She said, placing a hand on her swollen stomach with a sad smile. "Lance would want me to take her. We promised we would take her."

"I'll get her, you wait here." Brennan said before jogging into the house to get her daughter.

It didn't take long for Christine to trot up to the door, ready to go. The ride to the park was relatively silent except for the few times Christine started to hum along with the radio. Before they knew it, they were at the park, sitting on a bench.

"It isn't the same without Uncle Sweets..." Christine said, twidling her thumbs.

"I know..." Daisy sighed, feeling her little boy kicking again.

"You must really miss him." Christine said. "I know I do."

"I do..." She murmured.

"You know Mommy and Daddy is going to be there for you and the baby." Christine said, kicking out her feet. "Because it's what Uncle Sweets would do."

"That's good to know, thank you." Daisy smiled, feeling her heart flutter slightly.

"Wanna try to ride the paddle boat? If I try really hard you go slow, maybe we can get it to go." Christine smiled at her and Daisy nodded.

"Okay." Daisy smiled, getting up before leading the child away.
