A/N: Hello again! I see there are no reviews. A bit depressing but checking the views, I realize that some of you are reading and hope you are. I realize there are silent readers who are too shy to review. And, that I understand, being one myself. But, I hope you do enjoy what I am writing and would love to read an review cause it will make my day!

Sam will make an appearance owo. She will even have a separate chapter but for now, there is just so much to go over, Sam won't come until a few chapters from her. Nonetheless, please do leave a review cause I would love to read what you think. And, yea, I hope that you all like what I have written down cause I worked really hard to do this.

Also, I would love to hear some title ideas, I guess. Still, Lex's and Ava's mother is still in the dark and maybe, we will figure out the answers closer than you think owo.

Chapter 2

Lex bit his lip, his heart beating slightly faster than it was supposed to. The boy kicked his legs below, trying to forget the whole fact of what had happened the past few weeks. He did not know whether it was excitement or whether it was just nervousness. Lex fidgeted on the bed, his eyes trained on the door.

He was going to see his father. First time, in two weeks, he was alive! He was okay. Nevertheless, there was this still lingering anxiety that was bubbling within his chest as he waited for his aunt to come to pick him up.

The boy managed to phase out of all the drips and needles. (They were just really annoying but he had to be really careful because getting them out forcefully was painful) Lex knew his aunt would not be pleased but he still had to get them out if he had to leave the room.

The door opened, as Lex's heart jumped for a bit as he saw two figures now. Lex scrunched his face into a funny look. One of them was unmistakably his aunt and the other was his slightly older cousin, Jin.

Jin was tall. Way taller than him. His eyes were a shade of turquoise and his hair was blonde. Lex never had a particular aversion to blondes but he never really like Jin. Sure, Jin was his cousin but he was annoying and stupid.

"Hi," Jin mumbled as he moved over to him, leaning onto the side of the bed frame.

"Bye," Lex muttered darkly, with a childish glare.

"You little piece of-"

"Dumb antsy teenager,"

"You, two, better behave. Especially, if you wanna visit your dad," Jazz replied as she turned to Lex.

"Can we please go visit him now? See, I'm ready!" Lex said as he threw his hands up, but careful not to pull on his stitches.

"Yeah, I guess. Wait, did you take the drips out by yourself? Nevermind, I got permission from the receptionist the bring you anyway," Jazz sighed softly as Lex let out a cheer.

A little too excited, the boy jumped out of the bed and dashed out of the room. But, the farthest he got was the edge of his room. Lex hissed softly as it happened again. His stitches could not have torn now! He was so close.

Jazz looked at him in worry as she got closer, "You ought to be more careful! How many times do I have to tell you?"

Lex did not reply as he was too focused on the pain as it had began to ebb away into this sort of bearable ache. And there, he knew he had not torn his stitches out.

"I'm fine, Aunt Jazz," Lex whined, as he straightened his back to make eye contact with Jazz. Jazz shook her head as he grabbed Lex's hand.

"From now on, you aren't going to go anywhere without being within my earshot," Jazz said, sternly as she gestured Jin to come along. Lex opened his mouth to protest until Jazz gave him a look that made Lex, immediately close his mouth and settled to just glare.

Jazz let out a soft sigh as he tugged Lex as Lex started to walk along with Jazz. Jin followed behind, content with scrolling through his phone. Jazz did not seem to notice that as she walked to the elevator.

His dad's room was quite far away from his, Lex had to admit. Jazz led him to a whole other block and Lex was not quite sure how to return. Nevertheless, the boy knew he was supposed to be escorted by his aunt back to his room.

Jazz stopped in front of a particular room as she pushed the door open. Ian quickly put his phone away. Lex was finally seeing his dad. After two weeks of living in rather secluded room, he was looking at his dad.

Lex would have sprinted but quickly, crossed it off as a bad idea. Painkillers were pretty useless to since his sides always managed to flare up in pain whenever he did anything too strenuous.

"Dad! You're okay!" Lex exclaimed as he hugged his dad the tightest he had, Danny returned the embrace, although a little more gently and carefully avoiding his right side.

"Lex, not too hard," Jazz chided softly, nevertheless, a ghost of a smile inched onto her face as Lex seemed to loosen his grip a little bit. Jin, on the other hand, gagged at the sentiment.

"Easy there, big guy! How are you doing?" Danny said with a hum of laughter as he ruffled Lex's already messy mop of black hair.

"Better,"

"Good to hear,"

Lex pulled up a metal chair as he sat on it as he brought one of his legs up as the other suspended loosely in mid-air. Lex was still quite short of his age, which was a slight advantage in the battlefield since no one could properly aim at him.

Jin stood there awkwardly, "Uh-Uncle Danny?"

"Hm?"

"So, uh-when will y'all be released?"

"Lex will probably be the end of next week if everything goes well, that is. Me? Probably two more weeks, I think,"

Jin nodded, the blonde leaned against the wall, his hand supported by the tiny wooden stand next to him. Lex made a weird noise as Jin put his hand on his head, using him like a stand.

"Hey!" Lex protested, a pout taking residence as he glared at his older cousin.

"Got a problem, midget?"

Lex's face scrunched up into a glare that was weird-looking. The younger boy shook Ian's arm off him as he continued glaring. Jin, with all his maturity, glared back. Jazz pinched the bridge of her nose, pushing her glasses up. Danny crossed his arms, giving Lex a stern glare.

"But, dad!" Lex whined, his pout morphing into a frown. Danny sighed softly as Lex sprawled backwards on the chair.

Jin, on the other hand, sent a smirk Lex's way.

"You aren't the one who has their sides ripped out, can't you give me some pity?" Lex stuck his tongue out.

Jin stuck his tongue back out.

"Can't you, two, get along? Jin, I will confiscate your phone if you continue to bully your cousin and Lex? You want to go back to your room?" Jazz chided.

There was a resounding 'no' as Lex crossed his arms and huffed. Jin sent a glare Lex's way before he sat down on the extra chair in the room. Lex bit his tongue to prevent the urge of screaming at his annoying teenager of his cousin.

The room fell silent as Lex was trying not look as if he was glowering at his cousin. Danny straightened his back as he crossed his legs, and turned to Lex. Lex continuously pouted as he tried to avoid looking into anyone's gaze, absently picking at the paper bracelet around his wrist.

"I'm going to get something to eat," Jin abruptly stood up, leaving the room. Jazz let out an exhausted sigh.

"Gonna follow him to make sure he doesn't cause too much trouble," And, with that, it was just Lex and Danny left in the room. Lex rubbed the back of his elbow as he turned to Danny.

"Lex?" Danny began, slightly cautious.

"Hm?" Lex replied, still absently as he tugged at his bracelet, the black letters twisting and distorting as he did so.

"It was dangerous the way you just rushed in,"

"Aunt Jazz told me a million times,"

"You were lucky this time. You were bleeding a lot. And I was so scared. Y-you were so pale! I thought I lost you there,"

"But you didn't" Lex joked, earning a small glare from Danny.

"Lex...it's not funny, okay! Just try to avoid major ghost fights, okay?"

"Dad...but, I want to help,"

"Look at how you ended up?"

"It was one time,"

"Lex, please…"

"Dad…"

"Lex, you can help out in minor ghost fights but I can't risk you getting hurt again,"

"But, it was just one time!"

It was not that loud. It should not have woken her up. Nonetheless, for some reason, Ava lifted her head up from her couch, her eyes clearly betraying that she was asleep. Jazz sighed softly as she locked the door behind her.

"Ava, aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" Jazz asked, her gaze softened.

"Yeah, I was but I got woken from the sound of the door opening,"

"Oh," Jazz replied, lamely as she walked into the kitchen to get something to drink. Ava watched her quietly. Recently, all Jazz has been doing was going back and forth from the hospital and back here.

"How's dad?" Ava asked once more, falling immediately as Jazz turned to look at her.

"Dad's fine," Jazz replied as she pushed her glasses on top once more.

"Oh,"

The two females fell silent as Jazz shuffled into the living room, "You should be sleeping,"

"I know," the younger of the two whined,"but, I just wanna know if they are okay,"

"Both of them are doing fine,"

"Can I visit them tomorrow?"

"Sure, I guess they could use some more visitors,"

Tucker was not the type to actually enter the hospitals, willingly. Even as an adult, although his fear is not as severe as before, tries to avoid going to hospitals as much as he can unless he had no choice.

As of now, Tucker had not had the need to actually get sick enough to go to the hospital (not counting when he broke his leg), something he was thankful for. Nonetheless, he found himself making his way near the dreaded building.

His best friend was in there.

His best friend for forever was stuck there. And, he was going to make sure that he was going to visit him. If not, what kind of friend was he?

Mustering enough courage, he walked into the building and found himself making his way over to where Danny was. And, he made it to where Danny was. The first thing he noticed was the man looked much better than the first few days.

He looked so much livelier and in those moods in which he had good news. Tucker cautiously walked into the room, as if even the slightest rush can hurt the man. Danny raised his eyebrows, almost revealing his skepticism.

"You made it here?" He asked, "I'm surprised that you haven't ran out of the hospital, screaming,"

"Don't mention it again. Also, what kind of friend would I be if I had not visited you?" Tucker gave Danny a pat on his back as he grinned. Danny returned the sentiment by slapping him hard on the back.

"Ow," Tucker let out a yelp, "I see the ghostly side of you kicking in,"

"Oh yeah-I totally forgot I had those powers," Danny grinned sheepishly.

"You hit your head a little too hard?"

"Tucker!"

"Ow-fine!" Tucker protested.

"Where's Jazz? Shouldn't she be on your case right now?"

"Oh? I convinced her to stay at home and get some rest. She has been staying in the hospital too long and barely gets any sleep. Although, right now, she will probably be psycho-analyzing Ava,"

"Ava? Jazz still wants to be a psychologist?"

"She is a psychologist, except she psycho-analyzes children,"

"That sounds so wrong,"

"Well, I hoped that she would take a normal job so she doesn't use any of us as her 'psychiatric' experiments,"

"Well, like you being a policeman is a normal job,"

"Touche,"

"Anyway, Ava's been checked out?"

"3-4 days ago,"

"Oh yeah, Lex? I suppose his ghostly side kicked in too?"

"Except he doesn't have the super fast healing,"

"Wait, he doesn't?"

"Yeah, Tuck," Danny rolled his eyes.

"So, he's still stuck for a while,"

"Apparently,"

"Man, if Sam heard that Lex fought ghosts and got himself injured enough to end up in the hospital, she's gonna explode!"

Danny frowned.

"Oh, oof, sorry,"

"It's fine," Danny replied.

"Anyway, Lex is still here?" Tucker asked, changing the subject.

"Yeah,"

"Must have been pretty bad, then,"

"He scared all of us,"

"Poor kid,"

"I managed to look through the news footage in which you weren't doing so well in..,"

"Pretty scary huh?"

"Can we not talk about that?"

"Oh yeah...sure,"

Tucker and Danny fell into a moment of silence as both men were lost deep within their thoughts. Nonetheless, they knew they had each other.

A/N: maybe I will have a chapter dedicated to Tucker's children, who knows? o3o. I hope to see some reviews though and I hope I did justice in writing OCs. More will be explained. Just wait. The next chapter will be out tomorrow! Please leave a review since it will make my day!
