Complicated Love
Chapter Two
After successfully breaking one of the window's locks, Deidara continued to watch the target from his position on the roof. It was about twelve o'clock already, and she hadn't even gone to sleep yet. Damn, how long is she gonna stay up, un? The artist's patience was wearing thin. Over an hour had passed, and the target was still laying on her bed, doing absolutely nothing. He already had it all planned out, but it appeared that some changes would have to be made at the rate that this was going. Originally, Deidara would have snuck in through her window by now, captured the target, and flown off. Waiting was by far the worst part.
Turning his back to the nighttime breeze, the blonde criminal called to mind the basic information he was given about the target. Name? Yamanaka Ino. Age? Somewhere around seventeen or eighteen, he couldn't remember. Village of origin? Konohagakure, obviously. Skills? The Mind Transfer Jutsu along with other variations, he assumed. From what Deidara had gathered whilst trailing her, the target had an interest in flower arrangements and spent a lot of time around a pink haired kunoichi like herself. Her ninja ranking was unclear on the profile Hatafuri had given him, but judging by the missions she had been sent on in the past, it was safe to see the target was at least of Jonin level.
Ino sensed a strange presence around her. Even though she had not seen or heard anything, something was definitely out of order. She could've sworn she heard the sound of a door or window slamming shut just seconds ago. Trust her to start hearing things the one time her parents decided to leave the village for a week. Or maybe just my imagination... She thought, shaking her head. The platinum blonde rubbed her ankle, which was still sore from that afternoon's rigorous training. With the Akatsuki on the move, Tsunade demanded all the nin to be in top shape, as they had no idea when the criminal organization would strike.
She also made a mental note to herself to cancel the weekly Team Ten meetup for Saturday barbeque the following day; after this week's events, Ino just wasn't up for it. In her free time, she would much rather work on improving battle techniques that might save her life once the war came. The kunoichi had always been the one to keep Team Ten together, but after a number of events, it was now Chouji who reached out to her and Shikamaru instead. As the trio had grown older, they had also began growing apart and nobody, her included, wanted to sit through a two hour lunch with a strained ambience. InoShikaCho always ended up seeing each other anyways, after all, they still ran in the same circles.
It was getting late, and she would have to get some sleep for tomorrow's day in the flower shop. Ino got up and turned off the lights in her room. She was about to close her bedroom door when she tripped over something lying on the carpet. "What the hell?" In the dark, it was almost impossible to see who it was, but Ino could faintly make out the tall frame of a man. He had long blonde hair like hers, but it was golden rather than platinum colored. His hair was pulled up in a ponytail with golden locks covering his right eye; leaving only one visible. On his forehead was a shiny headband with the symbol of Iwagakure slashed out. He was leaning against the wall, arms crossed, with one leg propped behind him and one leg out.
''W-Who are you?'' Ino asked, taking a few uncertain steps back towards her bed. She hoped he couldn't notice the tremor in her voice, or how vulnerable she was right now. Her weapon pouch was clear on the other side of her room, and Ino was certain that she would be dead within a matter or moments if this was who she thought it was. She recognized his face from Konoha's bingo book and obviously knew who he was, but couldn't believe the said S-class criminal was in her house, merely feet away from her.
What could he possibly want?
Deidara smirked, flicking a senbon needle from between his fingers straight to his target's neck. ''I am Deidara of the Akatsuki, un.'' Within milliseconds, Ino collapsed to the ground, knocked unconscious to the floor by our favorite blonde, Deidara. "That was too easy, hm." He said, picking her up off the floor bridal style and climbing back out the window he came. The artist carried her outside to his bird, which had been waiting for him. After seating himself, and the kunoichi on the bird's back, he gave a slight nod and they began to take off into the darkness of night. He had shed his unbearably heavy disguise, but the nighttime heat was still relentless against the filmy material of his cloak.
I hope Hatafuri will be pleased, the blonde thought to himself, gazing down at the girl in his arms. Would she be as useful as Pein believed her to be? More for her sake, the blonde artist hoped so, because the Akatsuki were famed for disposing of prisoners who proved to be nothing of use after capture. He wondered how long it would be until she regained consciousness.

About half an hour had passed by the time Deidara had reached the location of the Akatsuki base. The bird landed, sending bits of dust flying in the muggy air. The blonde artist raised an arm to cover any from getting into his face. He slid off with ease, the target still unconscious in his arms.
''Katsu!" The white bird exploded into dust at command and vanished. Deidara sighed, watching the white specks blast in every direction, with the faint illumination of the moon providing a more dramatic explosion. They resembled falling comets, miniature ones of course. Art was a bang. Performing the hand signs, he entered the hidden Akatsuki base, but not before scanning the clearing to check for any unwanted followers.

As he pushed open the door, the blonde was greeted by Hidan, who immediately noticed Ino, laying as limp as a rag doll in his arms. "WOAH! DEIDARA'S GOT A GIRL!" Hidan hollered in a voice loud enough to wake up not only all of the Akatsuki base, but most likely the entire village of Konoha as well. The artist flared his nostrils in annoyance. Running over to the artist, Hidan peered at Ino. "Where's she from? I want one too!" The silver haired Jashinist reached out to run a hand through the girl's silky hair, but was quickly swatted away by a blushing Deidara.
"Shut up, un. I brought her here under Pein's orders. Go away." The silver haired man huffed angrily and stomped off. Itachi, who had been lounging at a nearby table, gave Deidara and his target a once over, 'hned', and ascended up the staircase to retire to his room for the night. Kisame let out a pitiful laugh, shaking his head before following suit.
"W-where am I?" An angelic voice mumbled. Ino opened her eyes. She was being carried bridal style by strong arms. Black cloak, red clouds, blonde hair fashioned in a similar way to hers. Snapping into consciousness, the kunoichi struggled to remember how she had gotten in such a state.
Crap! I've been kidnapped by the Akatsuki!
Ino's eyes frantically darted back and forth, taking in her surroundings. It wasn't Konohagakure for sure. Her legs felt numb, and there was a dull pain on the side of her neck. But why was she still alive? Ino blinked in confusion as the blurry vicinity began to form shapes that were clearer to the eye. Still, nothing clicked in place. Had she been brought here to be kept as a bargaining tool of some sort? She mentally cursed as her eyes swept across once more. The walls of this place were well fortified, and looked near impossible to break through. Even if she managed to escape, she doubted that she would have enough strength to last for long. The platinum blonde squirmed uncomfortably in her captor's arms. If she was dreaming, Ino prayed to Kami that this was all just a bad nightmare.
In the midst of this, she felt something wet on her thigh. The feeling was slimy, and… warm? Looking down, Ino saw it was a hand from the one that was carrying her. But what bothered Ino the most was that there was a mouth on it. "AHHHHHHHH!" She screamed, causing Deidara to jerk back very suddenly and lose his grip on her. They tumbled to the floor, Deidara ontop of Ino. It was a very awkward position.
Deidara was hovering over Ino, and he had one of his legs on either side of her body. His hands were touching the floor, on opposite ends of her face, somewhat supporting him; and the two ninja's faces were inches apart. The blonde artist could see Ino's face turning a bright shade of red. Then he realized that he could feel the heat rising to his own cheeks. Alarms were going off in his head. It was a good thing that all the other members were asleep so they didn't have to witness this embarrassing moment. Wait, all the members except-
"Well, well. Getting attached already?" Pein. Deidara turned his head and met his leader's stare. The orange haired man with piercings was hiding a smile and Deidara felt himself turning all red again.
"You're earlier than expected, Deidara."
"Oh. Hello Hatafuri-sama, un." As fast as he could, Deidara climbed off of Ino and helped her to her feet. "Let's go to my office and talk." Pein said, biting his tongue to keep from bursting into laughter.
