Chapter 2

The group parted ways that day. They never spoke to each other again, granted they could never find each other again. Blue went traveling around Kanto being her stealthy self, and Silver and Aqua traveled west together for a little until they split up. Silver left Aqua when they reached a town called Viridian City. Aqua stayed behind in the forest called the Viridian Forest by the people in town. She was too afraid to go up to anyone in the town, she was afraid they would turn her into the masked man so she stay in the forest.

The pokemon in the forest scared her at first. She screamed and people heard her so she hid behind trees at first. She could hear strange thoughts while she was in the forest, she knew they were not her own or the trainers, they were the pokemon's. She knew she could hear the voices of pokemon and she could heal them by touching them. Because of this power both Aqua and the pokemon of the Viridian Forest became friends. They took care of each other. She would heal their injuries and in return they would try to feed her and keep her safe as best as they could.

Aqua first discovered her healing powers when she was still in the Mask of Ice. the Masked Man commanded her to touch an injured pokemon one day. At first Aqua was scared, but when she touched it, instantly she felt a strange bond with it. She could hear the pokemon's thoughts as it slowly healed.

With the Forest Pokemon, whenever they were injured she would heal them and help them get better by learning the berries and which were used for what. She learned how to heal a pokemon's injury without using her powers all the time; she could do with with berries and herbs the way normal people did it in the towns. She was happy for her accomplishment and tried to learn how to become like one of the village people. She needed to make a new life for herself since she was done with the Mask of Ice and would probably never see Silver and Blue ever again.

Around five to six years later, Aqua was about eight years old. It was hard to tell when a year was because the seasons just come and go to her. Aqua never really took count of when the seasons were she just had to adapt to the cool or warm weather. Aqua had to guess her age because of this. All she knew was that last time she saw Blue, Blue said something about her being three years old.

Aqua went to a little water puddle and noticed the difference between how she was back then versus now, so she knew she must have grown older. Each month when Aqua grew out of her old clothes, the forest pokemon would make her new clothes out of leaves and the move string shot because her old clothes were dirty, tattered, and no longer fit her.

The pokemon knew and even Aqua knew that at some point she would have to leave them to pursue a normal life as a human. It would be hard, but she would have to at some point in her life. She could not stay in the forest forever, hiding from mankind. Aqua received another pair of new leaf clothes and once she finished changing she turned towards the pokemon.

Aqua did not have perfect speech, but she knew enough from the trainers that always come and go out of the forest and the Masked Man to communicate a few phrases. "I need to leave this place you know. I have to find out who I am. I appreciate everything you have done for me, but I must go. I promise to visit you soon." Aqua said her goodbyes and left.

She wandered Viridian City, the city that was always so close but just out of reach to her. While there she heard of the next town over, Pallet Town. The name rang a bell, but Aqua could not remember from where, so she decided to go to the town for herself. She went onto route 1 heading towards Pallet Town. It was a quiet little town; long open fields to the left and right of the road. You would see some houses every now and then, but near the far edge of the town sat a laboratory on a hill. Many pokemon were found in the laboratory and around it.

Aqua walked near the edge of town and stopped the by laboratory, that seemed very busy for the time being. Crashing and screaming could be heard inside the building along with different pokemon noises. Aqua did not care so much for the Lab, but when she saw the beautiful water near the lab she gravitated towards it. The water shimmered as the light from the setting sun hit it. Aqua's blue eyes sparkled, dazzled from the sight she has never seen before.

Pallet Town was a nice town and Aqua wanted to stay there for awhile. She walked over to a nearby tree and sat down leaning on the stump. She instinctively turned her head looking out from behind the tree. A boy was following her. When did he start? It was easy for the boy to be able to follow the girl because of her strange attire, but when he started seemed like a mystery.

The boy had deep green eyes and dark sandy brown hair. He looked around the same age as Aqua, give or take. He wore a purple turtleneck, black pants, and brown boots. He looked at Aqua and her strange outfit for a while.

Aqua felt strange with him just standing there looking at her so she tired running. When she looked over her shoulder the boy was gone. She knew no one could keep up with her fast pace. She rested near another tree before climbing into it, trying to hide in the foliage. She sat on a branch that seemed sturdy enough to hold her.

Footsteps could be heard underneath and as the brunette looked down, she saw the boy. He looked from side to side and then sighed. He was walking away.

Aqua gave a loud sigh of relief but not loud enough to be heard by anyone. She slumped back down on the branch and relaxed her body. She was easing into a peaceful sleep.

CRACK!

Crap! Aqua thought to herself. The branch was beginning to break just as she was going to sleep. Aqua could not think quick enough about what to do and in turn, the branch broke from beneath her. She was falling about eight feet to the ground underneath her. All she could do what wait for the impact of the landing, which would not be pretty. Aqua closed her eyes and awaited for the horrible outcome that was to come.
